I gotta be honest about stocking.

I saw this coming back in 2013 I just didn't know we would have as long as we did. I also was not very financially secure at the time. I INVESTED in a pair of REOs and a Pair of Provaris and several rebuildable tanks and attys for them. As well and protanks and coils for those (which can be rebuilt multiple times).

2015/2016 we really started to see the writing on the wall and I stocked again adding a few more mechs an rebuildables as well as a few more squonkers. I acquired the Woodville somewhere during this time. Then I just sort of sat there enjoying what I had and not spending much of anything.

Until 2019 when it became apparent that we were really in end days. Being in a better financial position and since vaping tech had changed so much. I loaded hard on squonkers and attys. Rebuildable tanks and tanks with RBA units. A few Solos. And a few non sustainable just because I wanted them things. A very kind ECFer helped me get my little purple kitty paws on the Dragon Provari which was one of my Unicorn hunt items for many years. Then REO went out of business and I acquired 2 LP standard REOs and lots of extra parts during their going out of business sale.

If everything else fails/breaks. I figure my 5 REOs + attys I got my hands on will keep me vaping for the rest of my life.

Everything else is gravy.

Found an image of the old generic cigs. The ones that were available in my area were the "GPC" ones, like the menthol pack in the middle. So I was wrong, they did have brand names on them, but the packaging was very plain, usually just one color printed on white.

I spent way more than that in a month stocking up. When I found out about the ban I spent around 500 on dna mods one month.
I kinda wish I was still at $500. I seriously need to be done. I'll have to deal with shortcoming as they come up in the future. For now, I just need to stop.

emember way back, I was a kid, a pack of cigs cost $.35? They are $9 in my area last I checked, maybe more. I remember saying I refuse to pay $9 for a pack of cigs, so it was hello vaping :) But those early cig a like were $100 for a kit, the atomizer and cart, 3 piece style, no battery life. So really prices are way cheaper than then.

I don't remember the 35 cent packs, but my father had a business when I was young and always had a cigarette vending machine, which is where he bought his cigs lol. I remember pulling the lever for him, but with his help becuase they were really hard to pull. I bet they were under $1 then, but I can't remember.

Back when I finally bought my first cigalike, they had come way down in price. I think I paid like $30 for a 4081 kit.

I think marlboros are $8 in my area, but I don't pay much attention.

Good planning! I am so not a mech user, but now I see the writing on the wall & it is a must to have some for the long haul. I am really happy with what I have too :)

Same. I'll keep my eye out for some really good mech deals, but I gotta cut myself off at some point, lol.

Assuming you have nicotine, you're probably OK, especially if you have a few mechs as a last resort. One thing about stocking up is that it can become a shinyitis addiction so you have to watch that.

Yeaaaaah, this is where I'm at. It's no bueno. I don't have nic juice, but I'll have to deal with that in the future when I get there. For now, I have several, several thousand mL's to vape through before I have to start worrying about juice.

Years back tube mechs were going really cheap, there maybe some out there. I have I think 3 Nemesis clones, they were only $9 each, clearance section. I did buy safety fuses for them.

Also, are semi-mech mods considered mech mods, or closer to regulated mods?

Semi mechs are unregulated mods. They have protections. Technically they are not really a mech because they have chips in them. When those chips go bad, the mod is worthless, so it's a lot like a regulated mod in that there are electronics tat can fail eventually.

Technically speaking, a true mech doesn't even have wires in it, but a mech with wires and no protections is still fixable as opposed to a protected mech.

I totally get the fear factor with mechs. I really do.

Back in 2013 I really saw mechs and then when they became more common rebuildables as the only truly viable sustainable system. So I made it my business to learn how to use them safely and get comfy doing it. Same goes for DIY liquid.

In the process I saved myself a boatload in not buying drop in coils or liquid over the years.

From about 2016-now really I did have one drop in coil vice. I used and still use Penguins for driving. My last 2 penguins are being used now. I have approximately 2 years of coils for them. When the internal batteries die (which for Penguins seems to be at 2 years) I will likely switch to a squonk for driving. WHich is what I did before the Penguins.

Okay yeah, I suppose that's what I was getting at with my question. I just got some Aspire Feedlinks, but they're semi-mechs. The only true mech I have atm is the ole VV Pulse BF Squonk.

I was around thru the Reo frenzy but I went the Provari path :) Now back to Reo and trying to educate myself because I wasn't paying attention back then LOL
