Aw...just go for it!

It's really hard to beat a 40W, name brand mod, that takes a replaceable battery, for $12.95...isn't it? You deserve at least one! I've never tried a KBOX, but have gotten several of them to stash and for other people, too, at that price!
I almost did it. Got to the age verification step and when it insisted on my cell phone number I shut the whole mess down. What ever happened to sending the info by e-mail :( I have never and never will put my cell number out there

It's for a code in a text that they send to you from what I understand. I have an app
called 'Text Me' that I use. Free, and it gives you a phone number. The purpose of it
is to use it to text from either a cell phone or a tablet without it effecting your
cell phone plan. IF and when I decide to get verified with a vendor or two I will
not use my regular cell phone number but instead give them my 'Text Me' phone
number for them to send the text to. I hope that made sense, but it's a way around
actually giving them your real number.

I hate all this invasion of privacy also but unfortunately, most info is already out there, including cell phone numbers and anything you have ever posted to the web such as pics, avi's.

The pros on here know more than I do about this stuff but my daughter is a programmer and I was surprised at how easy it is to obtain information.

Fortunately, I bought 2 of the Kbox 40 before Hoosier asked for age verification....
I usually hem and haw about purchases, but I jumped on this one.
Didn't need them, but I have a couple of friends who may in the future.

mine from the same date still shows to be in china. :( maybe it will move tomorrow :)
Mine is still sitting on a shelf somewhere in Beijing, but I've stopped thinking about it (till now). I've had a lot of orders in past years, and some took a LOT longer than others....it's just now we're a bit time sensitive, but I'm chillin about it!

I already have all I need, so there isn't anything out there I need bad enough to give out anything I don't want to give out.
same here and there are just some things I refuse to give in to and my cell number is one of them. I refuse to jump through any more hoops. I am way to old to change now just so I will be allowed to buy something. I don't add apps to my phones or even my computer to help me jump through the hoops. I am soooooooo glad I started stocking up when I did so now I can just tell them all to go jump in a lake and take a deep breath in exactly that order.

I wish we had a stickied list here of individual vendors and what
type of age verification they use. I haven't decided yet what route
I will take with the age verification process, however I will be
very selective from here on out who I order anything from. And
very very few - maybe 2 possibly 3 places.

I think everyone is a little too scared of age verification but maybe that's just me.
I am not scared of it. I just refuse to turn my whole life over when it is totally unnecessary. I dislike the fact that they just assume that everyone in the world owns a cell phone. When did e-mail stop being an option......

And their paranoia is on a very solid foundation. I've been a professional geek for over a couple decades now and it's not a question on "if" your site is compromised it's "when".

You can get a phone number for free from Google and use Google Hangouts (also free) to get (and send) texts. So there are ways around it if you have no cell phone or don't want to give your cell number out. I installed the Google Dialer on my tablet and it's now a wireless phone if I want it to be.

Good to know! It is really tough these days to be annonymous if you use a CC anywhere let alone SS#.

Where does the text go? Email?
