I come from a long line of tinkerers :) My young years were spent in the garage with my dad as he fixed cars and I held stuff as a helper. He also raced cars so grew up learning about mechanical things. LOL I got involved in electronics for a job, had to be certified as a military grade solderer and build boards for military aircraft items using a microscope. I enjoyed the tiny work it was fun. If something needs soldered my hubby calls me LOL Now welding that is his thing :) I always wanted to know how things work !
Told ya, a winner! A keeper! A tinkerer...

I just have to...

If I were a carpenter
And you were a lady
Would you marry me anyway
Would you have my baby?

If you were a carpenter
And I were a lady
I'd marry you anyway
I'd have your baby

If a tinker was my trade
Would I still find you
I'd be carrying the pots you made
Following behind you
Save your love through loneliness
Save your love through sorrow
I gave you my onlyness
Give me your tomorrow

If I were a miller
And a mill wheel grinding
Would you miss your colored blouse
And your soft shoes shining?

If you were a miller
And a mill wheel grinding
I'd not miss my colored blouse
And my soft shoes shining

Save your love through loneliness
Save your love through sorrow
I gave you my onlyness
Give me your tomorrow

If I worked my hands on wood
Would you still love me?
I'd answer you yes I would
And would you not be above me?

If I were a carpenter
And you were a lady
I'd marry you anyway
I'd have your baby

Save your love through loneliness
Save your love through sorrow
I gave you my onlyness
Give me your tomorrow

You were around here before my time too, my hat is off and a toast raised to you trail blazers! Many thanks to y'all

Come on by, dahlink. Let's have a vape. :toast:

Oh the memories, I hated the screwdriver and refused to own one. I had the custom Chuck, several xhalers, roughstack, pink baby bullet to name a few.

I want to know how many of you have/had the keychain laser mod?

OH yeah. (for a brief moment in time) They were majorly popular for awhile!

The most comfortable little mod is the GLV super mini, it was just made to hold in your hand, not too heavy, I really like them

Nostalgeee-a has hit me hard tonite..... "the good ol' daze".

My first mod was a home made Altoids box I built after watching this video :)

Steeljan rocked my world

I SO miss her. What a gift to the vape world. (come back @SteelJan!)

Nope. But I did/do have both sizes of Roughstack. I remember seeing the Maxi RoughStack going up on MadVapes in the middle of the night and jumping on it.

LOVE IT!!! (I still own one, too..... all kicked and ready for a nice karto.)

I can't believe I was able to quit smoking with one of those. I moved into a place I couldn't smoke inside, which prompted me to look into this thing I'd heard of a few months previous: electronic cigarette. I was just so pleased to find something that worked. My mind was blown that I could quit smoking. I had my last smoke 10 days after I purchased the 510 kit.

I am still in awe of myself quitting and having these things that made it possible. We've come a long way from the ones we had 7-8 years ago. I thought I was all done buying, until someone had to post a video about an atomizer with juice FLow COntrol!!! Had to have that one too.

The Gov won't win this one. There's already a new ecig commercial. This is a big movement and fortunately there are many here that can build their own.

One question tho. Is medical or legal marijuana categorized as a tobacco product?

I was just about to toss all this old stuff and the dooming happened so I decided to hang onto it for a bit. I will try some of it to see if I like it any better. If not, I will begin tossing it.

I had a big bottle of house line juice that I found too sweet and learned 80vg caused my chest to tighten. I diluted it with some 50/50 unflavored and made it vapeable, then went a step beyond and mixed in another 30ml or so of an old combination of older pre-made vapeable juices I had that I hadn't vaped in a while. This reminds me I need to get that juice back into a tank and in the rotation.

...sale at MFS...
Just bottled out my 3L of 100mg into 125mL Amber glass bottles. I have 3 L of Nic...but sale at MFS. Do I really need another litre? But...sale... Ugh!

I have been having this same battle in my head all weekend. I still have the browser tab open for my cart there and can't decide. I have enough in the freezer to last me and one other person I mix for 20 years, longer if I cut us both down (I doubt she would know if I didn't tell her) on the amount of nic... yet I still feel like I want another liter just to be safe.

I've been going through the same debate myself. I should have enough, but what if something unforeseen happens? An accident perhaps... I'm thinking a liter or two more than I think I need might be the way to go, just for insurance purposes. My problem is storage space! I'm not buying a freezer just to store nic in.

She was one of the early casualties of vapers gone nuts. She was viciously attacked for something she said, and she just shut it down and split the scene.

It was very sad, and the biggest losers were us, the vaping community. We lost a great asset and ally that day, and it SHOULD have served as a learning point to us all.

It didn't really turn out that way though. [emoji20]

Ditto. If my brother ever wanted to try vaping instead of smokes he would need higher nic than what the 2 of us use and my supply would get used up faster so 1 or 2 more broken down into 250ml bottles may be a cheap safety net / insurance policy.

I bought a freezer just for nic as we didn't have a chest freezer yet. I got pre-packed frozen food on top of the nic now with plenty of extra space.

I'm not 100% certain of this but I think a video she did about dual coil cartos MAY have been at the heart of what caused her to fly away.

I've searched everywhere and that video is nowhere to be found. She was so (understandably) upset by the attacks that it was a friend of hers who delivered her official "Good - bye" message. She refused to do ANY more vape related vids.

It was one of my very first lessons about all that could go wrong in this new social media time we found ourselves in.

I miss her too. And I still go back and watch some of her old videos every once in awhile, just for the memories they provide.

Aw man! You're a girl!?
Yea really. Women usually don't understand being attached to lot's of things guys connect with.
Every once in a while a winner like you comes along who not only understands but relates and is willing to get down and help projects along.
I love it when chicks explain stuff to me, don't feel one bit threatened.

I remember being attracted to a couple of sisters down the street
when I saw them digging a ditch for their septic tank drainfield. I even attack trained their dog for free
I was so impressed.

Chicks don't understand. A friend gave me a bunch of ham radio equipment.
"Why did you bring home all that junk?"

Well, because I'm a geek, a ham, and there's about three thousand dollars worth of junk in that pile.
You might appreciate this,, I live in a condo. My patio has a 6ft wood fence. I had 2 dogs (1 now) and wanted to give them a potty (doggy septic system) for when I was gone. I built a slight ramp out of wood coming from the doggy door.. the drop was 1 inch+ per ft (5ft in my case). covered in heavy plastic pond liner... at the fence there is a 'trough' style drain with downspouts/elbows etc. --ok that is the inside patio (plastic even goes up the walls a couple of inches)
now,,, waiting for a good middle of the night after flooding the grass area out side my fence (public side) i went out and dug a hole 2ft wide x10longx2 ft deep,, placed gravel at a pitch away/down from my connections on the other side of the fence,, attached that black plastic drain that has weep holes,, covered the whole area with landscape fabric then the dirt. early next morning. My husband built a huge flower box over that whole area. and we ran out an bought a lot of nice plants and trees.

another feature we did,,,around the corner on my building is a water tap,, I put a Y on,, and ran 150ft of hose buried to my patio... now I can hose off pee real easy.
we use a dustpan for poop and just flush it.

that fence is also 8" thick,, we put another 'fence' up on our side and filled the cavity with soil.. serves as insulation/sound proofing and add huge amount of privacy that appears to be plants to the ceiling.

What happened to her anyway?
I think she's still around, but not making videos anymore.

A few years ago, she suddenly disappeared and deleted all her videos (as I remember). I heard she got upset about what another YouTube reviewer said about her (Phil Busardo, I think). She had said in one of her videos that the electronic gadget he used in his video couldn't possibly accurately do what he said it did. And, he got mad and criticized her saying she didn't know what she was talking about. At least, that's what I heard.

I feel a little dirty repeating this. It's just gossip. I may be wrong.

But, she disappeared for a while, then reappeared on the SI website doing tutorials for their 808 cigalikes.

That's the last I heard. But, I think she may still be posting. She was posting a year or so ago anyway.

I just loved her. Her and MIstress Nomad.

Saw you guys worried about nic supply and figured I may as well go ahead and order some more, been fighting the same internal battle this weekend. I'm only 35, I don't expect to live an exceptionally long time but if I intend on using nic till I go I better keep buying the stuff. Especially if wild life and family members are pretty much guaranteed to get into my stash.

Went MFS yet again, 20% off and 200mg liters are $90 before the discount on sale. One liter of that and a $4 bottle of flavoring shipped for $71. I fully expect to be paying tax on devices before the FDA is finished their deeming, neither of my states look very promising for tax purposes. I expect it to be unreasonable. I expect the nicotine tax to be even more unreasonable... and I don't intend on paying it.

Thanks, DH. You definitely have better info than I, because I was strictly guessing at what happened.

If what you said is true, that's a TERRIBLE shame.

    It's a terrible shame, regardless.

How can there be so much crapppy vendor juice ... when DIY is so easy to do?

Do any of these juice makers actually market test their flavours?

I know what you are talking about. I'm a sucker for strawberry cheesecake, coconut cream pie and other Desert flavors. I have been disappointed so many times i lost count

Just to let you guys knoe i wont be around much for tge next 2-3 months. Packing up to move then unpacking after moving up in the 4 corners area. About 70 miles from there. Still in AZ THOUGH.

A big part of the reason for DIY is to avoid the nasty surprises from store bought juice. No point in re-creating them. Variety is nice. But, comfort is even nicer.

Now, that I have been doing DIY for a few years - I know what I like so for me it is a pleasant surprise when I taste what I pulled out of the fridge...

Its like finding out that foil wrapped item in the back of the fridge was a slice of key lime pie, while you thought it was just a pork chop... :)

I expect the vendor landscape will be magnitudes smaller in the coming couple of years as juice is expensive now, but when you add some juicy sin tax to this $20+ juice, good luck growing market share and turning a profit.

As it becomes a norm people will adjust - did you ever think that you would pay $50 for a carton of smokes???:(

I did not hit my target for supplies by 8-8 because I've been out of town for an extended period and couldn't coordinate the shipping. I have my 10 years target for nic. I'll be adding more for the redundant supply. I only use one atomizer, SV rda from FT that cost $7 each. 10 of those are a life time supply, may be several life times.

Where I'm short is mods. I could vape the rest of my days on a pico or vtc mini so I'll have 5 of each for 10 years minimum and probably longer. I realized this summer that my brother in law is an electronics technician with 30+ years experience currently working for an industrial lighting company helping to develop and test new products. He's got a soldering iron in his hand most every day and can service just about anything electronic. He is confident that electronics well protected from humidity and harsh temperatures should have a very long shelf life.

I have experience with archival storage of documents and objects. Proper enclosures and packing materials for long term storage are breathable and acid free. Consumer packaging materials are usually at least mildly acidic, not intended for long term storage. There are websites for acid free packing supplies to store anything you can think of. Collectors use this stuff, not just professional archivists.

Below is my supplies target for vaping 7 ml at 10 mg nic per day for 10 years and may be 20 years depending on shelf life.

    500,000 mg nic $250
    5 picos, 5 vtc minis $300
    10 SV rda clones $70
    Total $620

3 months of smoking used to cost me $750.

No matter what happens in court or congress I'll never trust government to let me vape in peace. Too many people rely on tobacco taxes for this to end without a struggle.

A lot of people are scared of handling nicotine. I was going to start doing DIY a year ago and told my husband I was planning on it to save money.

To that he put his foot down (and yes he actually said,I'm putting my foot down, absolutely no you are not doing that..) because he is afraid of me handling nicotine. I shared with him articles about it being more safe in concentrations less than 100mg/ml, and my ability to be safe and use safely precautions, but it really terrified him that something could happen to me. He would rather buy juice any day of the week than to have me take a risk.

I think most people have that fear.. I daresay while there is a large diy community here, that attitude is not the prevailing one among vapors in general, for one reason or another.

The only reason he is letting me do it now is because he has the same worries I do about the future of vaping, and wants me to be able to continue to vape no matter what happens so long as I want or need to.
