I use a badger paint mixer for my 30ml - 220ml mixing but it struggles with the 220ml batches and the wand probably isn't long enough to get down to the bottom of your 1L bottles. I would imagine you can find longer paint mixer attachments that you could stick in a cordless drill which should have the power for 1L of pg or vg.I've made one stockpiling error so far. It turns out I prefer all black mods and atomizers for the sake of stealth. Correcting that with atomizers was cheap. 8 of my prefered atomizer cost $40. That would be a few life times supply. I'll go over-budget by getting a couple more all black Picos but not as many as I'd like meaning if supplies really are cut off I'll only use them when i really need stealth.
There's one more issue related to long term storage I'm thinking about. In a year I'll open a 1 liter long term storage bottle. I want to be certain it's well mixed before dividing in to smaller bottles. A few shakes might not be enough but how to tell? Chemistry labs have devices called bottle rollers for mixing but the one's marketed to them cost 100's of dollars. There must be a low cost way to cobble one of these together. I think a bottle roller might also be the best way to mix DIY if you feel the need for extra mixing (which I don't).
This is more of a general question, than a stocking up question but I thought I'd put it here anyway..
So, my husband's going to start vaping.. I'm giving him a p3 with a Kayfun 4 with an airy draw (as this is what he likes) later today we are going shopping for e juice that he likes.. (have a juice bar locally so he can try stuff out)
So.. I'm wondering and considering what mg of nicotine to start him on..
I started at 18 and went through nic withdrawals, but I went from smoking two packs a day of full flavor, to vaping about 2 ml of e juice a day..
Now hubby, he smokes just barely over one pack a day.. maybe a pack and an extra cigarette a day, of full flavor menthol cigarettes.. (I don't know if the menthol makes a difference or not in cigarette strength.. I will assume not, but you never know. It doesn't seem like you've had a cigarette at the end of one anyway)
My consumption on the P3 has been about 6 or 7 ml of e juice a day.. so I'm just guessing his will be similar.
Should I start him out at 18mg nic to see how it goes, then raise or lower depending upon how that works for him?
This is what I'm thinking.. but I would appreciate everyone's opinion here..
I would go 12 to avoid nic sickness ... if 12 doesn't work, bump it up.
You could also buy the same flavor at zero nic along with the 18mg. That way you can reduce if its too much. The hardest part of switching is finding a flavor that you can stick with. To me, that is more important. This is more of a general question, than a stocking up question but I thought I'd put it here anyway..

I smoked similarly to your husband,i was around a pack + maybe 4-5 extra a day.I started at 24mg,but that was in CE5 with very tight airflow. With the Kayfun,i would guess 18mg would be a good place to start, like you say you can always go higher or lower if needed,he will know fairly quick if it's too much. This is more of a general question, than a stocking up question but I thought I'd put it here anyway..

You could try and rig a rock polishing tumbler maybe. I seem to remember these were pretty cool and probably a lot cheaper than a bottle roller. I seem to remember someone else doing this.Good luck, I personally just shake em up by hand and hope for the best I am glad I use PG nic it mixes easier.I've made one stockpiling error so far. Haha, yeah completely different from the stuff coming out now,it seems like almost everything labeled as a starter set is big air and sub ohm now haha. That's the whole thing isn't it.. it's hard to gauge when most of us started on a ce4 or 5.. lol
Thanks for the advice!![]()
For me, nicotine seems like the easiest thing for the government to step in and prohibit so my first step was stockpiling 100mg nicotine. After my next order gets here I'll have 4 liters which will last many years. I'd like to get up to 10+ liters as I'm mixing liquid for my husband and sister also, but I feel a little better at least having the 4. Here's a nicotine usage calculator- e-liquid Scripts - Vapocolypse Calculator After nicotine, I'm working on mods and tanks. VG, PG, flavorings, wire and cotton will always be around though there is debate about the tobacco specific flavorings.Ok guys I've only been vaping 4 months so I hope you don't mind a couple questions about stocking up.
I'm looking into getting into diy and stocking up on nic. Check.
I've got the big baby beast and that comes with an RBA but I know nothing about coil building yet am willing to learn and buy tools. Is the RBA with bb ideal or should I invest in a rta tank? Also will the RBA wear out and need replacement? Like I said I know nothing.
Also I only have one external battery mod but am working on it, it's a process...
I hope I can stock up in time..
The problem I had with flavors getting started is I didn't like any of them. At best i could tolerate them. It turned out the reason was they were too strong, overpowering. I think the way too start newbies is with some mild neutral flavoring at a low percentage. Today my DIY has 1% flavor. I supply the identical mix to a brother of mine. If you do DIY let him try something with minimal flavoring.I agree with you on flavor being so important.. this is why I'm going to the local juice bar.. let him try out all kinds of flavors and pick one he likes the most..
Might pick two or three..

I just shake, rest, shake, rest, etc.I personally just hand shook my 1L bottles like mad before I broke them down to 120ml bottles for long term storage.
I agree with SnP. One bottle high (18 or 24) and one bottle at zero.Should I start him out at 18mg nic to see how it goes, then raise or lower depending upon how that works for him?
An advantage of using PG as the carrier is it's almost the same specific gravity as nic so they are less prone to separating but if a bottle sits for years that's still likely to happen. A bottle roller needs the rollers to be fairrly close together and turn very slowly. Also it needs to be long enough for a 1 liter bottle. I'm sure I could make one if I had a motor that turns so slowly. It's important that nic concentrate is completely uniform before it's divided or mixed. You could try and rig a rock polishing tumbler maybe. Yup, the flavor is much more difficult to get perfect! I was a menthol smoker. Menthol juice was ok. But, what did it for me was coffee flavors! I never would have guessed. I just lucked out that my brother bought some Caramel Macchiato that he didn't like and gave it to me.
Closely imitating tobacco is very difficult. i wanted tobacco flavor in the beginning and got over that as most vapers seem too do. If you are mixing try him on a very very mild flavoring, just enough to cover the other ingredients or even try him on unflavored. he doesn't want dessert, that's reasonable. I care about texture and throat hit. Flavor is a distant third place. So start hiim with menthol, just a hint. you can always add more if necessary. My problem is nothing I vape is nothing he would/will vape.. he hates anything sweet or dessert.. whereas that's always been from day one like a reward for not lighting up..
When he learned there was menthol e liquid, and tried out my P3, that is the day he said he wanted to vape..
He wants either a menthol or a nice tobacco flavor, he occasionally smokes a pipe, and likes his pipe tobacco as well.. so if we can find a nice tobacco he would vape.. or a light menthol..
I know I can buy the stuff for the menthol but I have no earthly idea how to make a pipe tobacco flavor!
