I know you don't :) even though I've been vaping for a couple of years it's been with one ancient set up. I have nothing to contribute really other than support. I laugh with you and get angry with you but I do it behind the screen. I feel weird sometimes asking and never offering, ya know. So I just wanted to let you all know how much I really appreciate you.
Glad you are here! I think all us have been helped by ECF and I agree, it's a great community!

Halo eVo Tangerine Swirl, I like it :) Halo had a good sale so I bought a bunch of flavors. It is their high VG line.
I can't inhale high VG, hurts my lungs, but the flavor is great, need to DIY some in higher PG.

I learned this the hard way recently. I don't usually pay much attention to, or ask about, vg/pg ratio and tried a new house line at a local shop and noticed my chest being tight when hitting it a lot. Asked the other day when in the shop, after reading threads here about breathing issues, and found out it is 80% VG.

I started out on 33% VG and have had lots of 50/50 (maybe a 70/30 once or twice) so I am going to stick with 50/50 going forward. The 80/20 vg/pg menthol version also made my house mate cough so I ended up trying to mix the big bottle of the 80/20 menthol I bought her with her previous menthol from Mister E that is 33% VG to try and not let it go to waste and she says she likes the mix of the two better than either on their own.

Does anyone actually have an old test kit that they still use or are they unnecessary because you can buy the componants separately?

I went to a pool & patio store and bought this:

Taylor R-0009 Sulfuric Acid .12N (About $2.69)
Mine has an expiration date of 1/2017, so if you don't need it within a year...I'd wait to buy it.

Went to PetsMart, and in the fish care section, bought this kit that has everything else you need in it:

API
pH TEST KIT
For Healthy Freshwater Aquariums

Has a 37mL bottle of bromo blue, a little glass test tube type vial, an instruction booklet, and a color chart to compare your test to. The kit was about $7.50 and says on the box it's enough for 250 tests! The bromo blue has an expiration date of 12/2020 on it. Just bought it 4 months ago, so it's good for at least another 4 years.

I used the directions for testing my nic base...from the Sticky at the top of the DIY forum...about how to test nicotine.

I've been vaping for a couple of years it's been with one ancient set up.

Can't be more ancient than my gear - been vaping on it for almost 4 years - only had to replace a couple of threaded parts and it keeps on ticking...

I do anywhere from 75% PG / 25% VG - 60% PG / 40% VG - depends upon the flavor and the tank/mod I am using. My old setup only the higher PG - wicks slow, but some of the newer stuff likes higher VG...

Support is one of the best contributions anyone can make to this community :)

I see you're from WNY just like me :) Don't ever hesitate to let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. If things go bad with the deeming and state laws our vaping friends are going to be our most valuable asset :)

Both are used for testing swimming pool water, so you can get them later. However, I'm not sure if you can buy a small amount that way. Check with a pool supply store.
I tried. Most places don't sell it any more. I did find the individual ingredients on amazon.

No but seriously... ask all the questions you want. It keeps us from getting bored and going to look for clearance sales to enable each other. Our credit cards will thank you.

Thanks pretty excited on the build, had to rewick it today and pulled the cotton in half apart to get 1/2 the thickness, I wasn't kidding about thickest juice on the planet. Kept the tails shorter too, hope it wicks properly this time.

I went to a couple of pool supply places and they did not have it. Said they stopped carrying it. So I just went to wl and got it on sale for $8.

    FYI -

1st Class S/H option is fixed now at OSDIY Shop, for fairly small orders. I just ordered 5 of their 9mL samples and 10 6mL dropper bottles, and S/H from Colorado to FL was $3.97. So, not bad at all! It seems to go up 17 cents shipping for each additional little 9mL sample.

The correct code to use is definitely ECF. Saves alittle there, too. :D

I've decided I'm not all that picky anymore about my nic level. If the stuff just degrades in strength over time and doesn't actually ruin (which I don't think it would, being frozen), then I'm okay with that. I'm planning to gradually reduce my nic level anyway, to make sure my stash lasts the ten years I've planned for and also just for the heck of it. So, I think I'm set.
