I finally decided that it was time to stock up on nic and start to DIY from the bottom up. I bit the bullet and ordered two liters of 100mg/ml nic in 75pg/25vg from MyFreedomSmokes for $50 a liter. Along with that I ordered some FlavorArt flavorings and some mixing hardware.

At my 3mg/ml nic strength that should make 66 liters of juice. Am I correct in thinking that 66 liters vaping at 200ml a month should last me for 27.5 years?

200ml * 12 = 2400 ml a year
66,000 ml / 2400 ml = 27.5 years?

I may have over ordered on nic!

That sounds about right. I have a bit over 2L and at 15ml per day (for 2 people) it worked out to 14 years using the calculator. I can't post the link to where I found it or attach it it seems but google will find it for you [Removed]

Do you know when the letters were sent? I have a couple packages still in China since the 21 of July with the messages Origin Post is Preparing Shipment or has passed through facility.
These have taken the longest of all of my orders to process.

Don't know when they were sent, but I know UPS is ready to start sending shipments through the FDA on August 8th.

Use this calculator from the RTS vapes chemist. Just download and fill in the boxes.

Not sure what happened to the post, or if I'm just blind, but did I understand that ordering from another country makes us importers and we'd need a special license? This I did not know. I had one more order I was going to place thru Fasttech and thought I might be safe as long as I placed the order before 8/8. I assume now that it won't be safe.

I think that will all depend now on where the package is on 8/8 whether is was ordered before the date or not may not make a difference with the FDA. Wish we all could know for sure.

No significant loss if it is a small order for last-minute stuff. Especially if a non-vape item is included.

So........Does "processed through our facility on 7/27" ( this is in Chicago) mean it's been released? Or is customs still holding on to it? I'm a little concerned after reading the linked thread over this particular package because it does have the vendor's shop name on it.

BTW, the one time I did have a vape package seized and inspected I *think* it just said arrived and it sat there for days.

What linked thread House mouse ? I feel like I'm missing something, but I can't find what I'm missing :confused::confused:

How can the FDA screen shipments, and how does UPS even know what a shipment contains? Has the FDA set up a warehouse somewhere and empowered inspectors to open packages?

If it's an international shipment, the contents of the package are going to be on the customs slip. Anything e-cig related is slated for inspection starting next month.

I had that happen once too. I think it was just over the $100 mark....maybe $101 or $102. AT that time I think they wanted ensured I didn't owe an import tax.

There is Mike's calculator in a separate thread you could use. Just to double check :)

It's been removed.

Thanks Retired.

Going on the generality of what's being said here. ;) I think most people in the vaping community (vendors AND customers) have not taken into account that there is a whole lot the deeming order didn't have to spell out specifically about our vaping toys because once deemed a tobacco product other laws already on the books would kick into effect. :( Import laws being a very important example of what I'm talking about.

I thought that was why we have a 'customs' dept.
