I had promised to update people in regards to post 8/8 airtravel. This time they specifically mentioned eliquids on checked luggage are NOT allowed. Carryon luggage is OK as long as it fits into the 311 rule. No issue going through TSA though. Basically the same thing as when I departed 5 days before the deeming date. Now I'm stuck in JFK and have a small delay.

What the ---- ya gonna do with 400 watts. Geesh.

KzeX8_f-maxage-0_s-200x150.gif

Because there will always be those who push the limits and think 200w is just too sissy for them. I've never vaped at 200w. Or 150w. I have devices that can reach there, I've tried it. I like to taste my juice, not cook it.

Did anyone fill out this survey and get the results? I found the entire survey report in my inbox, here's the summary:
***** SUMMARY *****

We surveyed 9,040 current e-cigarette users in the United States on what they think they will do if, when the Deeming Rule comes into effect on August 8th 2018, they are no longer able to legally buy the e-cigarette products they currently use.

The majority (>60%) of current e-cigarette users expressed intentions to either start buying e-cigarettes and e-liquid from the black market, both in the local community and online, start making and mixing their own e-liquid at home, start bulk buying/stocking up on e-liquid in advance of the Deeming Rule coming into effect, or go back to smoking tobacco/smoke more tobacco than they do currently.

All of these responses would likely increase these individuals' risk for ill health, and fuel a black market trade in e-cigarette products. Only a very small proportion of current e-cigarette users expressed an intention to comply with the Deeming Rule by either ceasing e-cigarette use or switching to use of FDA-approved e-cigarettes (if any will exist).

***** edit- I don't feel DIY liquid or stocking up is bad for our health :)

Thanks once again for taking part, your time and insights are hugely appreciated!

Best wishes,

Christopher

I am surprised it is only 60% really, not so much on buying from the black market but more so DIY and stocking up... but then I still think the majority of vapers either do not know or fully understand all that the deeming entails and how it will impact them personally.

Yea, I figure those that were getting out have and that now we will be back to normal, well as normal as it can be under the current wait and see routine...

Yep, I figure pretty much back to as normal as possible given the circumstances for the time being until some inspections of some sort take place and it gets widely publicized to make an example out of a few vendors not following the rules:( and then a few more vendors will get scared and bale out.

Other then that, I expect the next round of closings to come 12/31/16.

I sometimes vape at 150 watts but the topper I use is a 30mm RDA and has a ton of airflow. Even at 150 watts the vape is only warm. In comparison when I try vaping at 90 watts on a 22mm atty it is just way to hot for me to stand. The right tools for the right job, and all of that I guess. Needless to say, walking around with a 30mm plus size atty attached to a 3x18650 mod in my pocket is out of the question since I imagine it would garner some unapprovingly strange looks from others LOL. :)

I'm expecting that also, not looking forward to it either. More intense regulations, stricter punishments, etc further down the line. Hell, anything could change any day, really. I hope no kid -18 get's hurt, buys juice, does anything stupid; that would cause for further enforcement from the FDA. So far, from the the info at FDAregs.info, right now it's just new products after 8/8 and enforcement of ID and -18 youth checks, some vape shop free juice regs, among many other things. There's still a bit of freedom right now. I've also made some purchases after the 8/8 deadline just fine. MVS and Flawless Vape Shop. The future of innovation of new products and their release looks a bit scary, not gonna' lie.

In America, we've been fighting/still fighting the cartels since the 1970s and some way some how, they still smuggle stuff into this country. It's sad but a fact, where one door shuts, one door opens *aka* the black market/smuggling route. I'd like to continue to make an honest purchase, like now, rather than take that route. Also, I'd like to be proud and say our leaders in this country truly care about our health, want to drop the cancer deficit further, and promote a healthy lifestyle as we all do; not kill the vaping industry and create a new black market in America.

I think the only ones who understand or have a clue are those who hang out on forums. We tend to connect a lil more closely with each other regarding the issues whereas those on the outside think we're making a big deal over nothing.

Heck yeah, lol Who didn't? When I make kids later in life, they will too. Loved Dr. Seuss books, those were the only ones I liked. Oh yeah, the "Where's Waldo" were pretty damn cool too..

E-cigs and 'loose' lithium batters are certainly restricted from carry on luggage but I couldn't find anything about e-liquids. The only restricted liquids in checked luggage are liquids like gasoline, lighter fluid, alcohol over 70% content, etc.

OK thanks for the distilled water answer. Didn't realize it was a 99 cent purchase... somehow the distilled was cheaper. Luckily I don't expect things in this country to make sense anymore or that would have confused me.

Early 80s baby here as well, Dr Seuss and Where's Waldo were awesome but those "How Stuff Works" books opened my entire mind early and are probably a big part of the reason I became an engineer.

Well, it says >60%, so they don't seem to me to be specifying what the actual percentage is- I would love to know.
