Kind of jealous of you all that found ECF so fast. I was deep into purchasing 901/510 batteries and all kinds of carts when I finally found my way here and got an ego with a vivi nova.
LOL's, I take it you had one or two alsoIt did if you had the adapter, lol. I found a bunch of those adapters the other day.
What I've taken notice to is the pod-mod.
We're here begging everyone to get out there & fight for our right to vape yet some manufacturers have taken a different approach. The same ones we've been buying our subohm setups from have been working on closed systems known as pod-mods.
I get the sinking feeling that instead of pushing for what we currently have, they'll be pushing for an entirely different market of vapers......the still-smoker-who-never-tried-vaping-&-we-wanna-give-them-the-smoker-experience. I dont know if that's good or bad.![]()

I started with a PigCig, it didn't even accept a 510
Thank goodness I found ECF before I bought anything else

I feel really lucky that I found this place before I bought anything. Saved me from the Green Cigs and such.
After finding ecf, I went for a 901 Riva.....510 at that time were just the atty's. Before there was an adapter. 901's were compatible with an 808D, iirc.Kind of jealous of you all that found ECF so fast. And I agree buuuuut why did it take the deeming regs to aggressively begin marketing to the never vaper? So, I imagine that lot of members here probably felt the same way when first starting so it's not out of scope that these companies will be catering to new people.
And this is exactly the point I'm trying to make. Every time I go on youtube I know I'm going to see a plethora of sub ohm cloud gear but now since FDA interference, all I'm seeing is newer & newer closed systems.I worry about that too. Our open systems maybe going extinct as we watch what unfolds.
The eGo may replicate the feel, but having a tank on that eGo in which you add your own juice makes the setup an open system unlike the pods which is a closed system. Currently only one (JUUL) is refillable if you know how to hack it.Many beginners want something that replicates the tactile and kinesthetics of smoking a cig. Ergo, ego. I think that is needed in the market.
...at the time, I could only find the Blu carto replacements at Walgreens, something like $15 plus tax for FIVE cartos that lasted about 5 minutes each.![]()
I actually quit using Blu's.
Looking back, I surely don't know HOW I managed to do that, but somehow I did, for almost 2 months I used them.

It's like our right to vape only includes the closed system & that is what I take issue with.
Since I don't use youtube very often,(actually just since the deeming) so you are probably noticing stuff more rapidly than I would. And this is exactly the point I'm trying to make. Most of us changed our gear and flavors but some will not do so plus they want simple so the pods and those types will remain popular. I helped a co-worker get set up with what was the best at the time, a 510 kit with menthol juice. I could never get her to try anything else except finally got her to move up to the mega 510 batts, lol. She has been with that same setup for over 5 years.
Open systems are that which you control.....rebuilding, DIY etc etc.Since I don't use youtube very often,(actually just since the deeming) so you are probably noticing stuff more rapidly than I would.
The current on market open systems are not and really never have been mass marketed on tv(don't know about youtube). I have only ever seen ads on tv for the cig-a-likes.
It's free?? I may try it if it's freeThat is the one I am thinking of. free kit, free extra pod mod.
Then again, now that I think about it, it's because I found this place that I bought so much stuff.![]()
