Probably someone from Provape wouldn't say more than he should, but I would be cautious about repeating anything that you were told, you could be throwing someone under the bus.

Edit: I only mention this because I've seen it happen here.
Of course. And I would only repeat it if he said I can.

That hurts. 39 bucks for a 2.5! I just paid 10 dollars over that price 48 hours ago....talk about lousy timing.

On the plus side, it has already shipped.
You could try emailing them and see if they will refund the xtra dollars. It doesnt hurt to ask. I have done that successfully several times with various companies… and many unsuccessfully.

Thinking about what you said. Maybe they see the writing on the wall that open systems may very well be illegal after this whole mess is settled and they are working on a closed system. Given their expertise they are certainly capable of coming up with an excellent quality device for which they can also offer replacable cartridges. And you can bet a Provape pod would last a lot longer than the Logic or Blu with which many of us started vaping, especially if the device itself took rechargeable batteries (will that be allowed?)

For me closed systems are too expensive for daily use so I'm sticking with my stuff but I can see where a whole generation of new vapers would be happy with them.

I agree. They could very well be working on something different, and would be more than capable of producing a safe, and reliable closed system. Hopefully they would be able to get it thru the approval process.

My timing is always lousy, but with the current prices, it doesn't hurt as much. :)

(DISCLAIMER)
I have no inside knowledge, either.

But, IMHO they would be foolish to continue in this industry. They have great QC and could easily find something else to do that would not have the uncertainty that the vape industry has at the moment. If the FDA's thinly-veiled pecksniffian maneuvers to benefit their co-conspirators in Big Tobacco are defeated in court, ProVape could return to the business safely.

Why would anyone want to deal with this if they don't have to?

As time goes on and the market continues training us - we tend to accept trends. Look at it this way - 30 years ago if I told you I was going to sell you a TV that will only last 5-7 years what would you have said... How about appliances, cars, etc. It is all the same - those with the money that want to make more money train us to be satisfied with their sub-standard products.

It may not even be vape related, but maybe just maybe if we are lucky and they are still in business they will continue to service what they have sold to us... We can hope...

Ive been trying to rebuild the stock coils and been hunting for these. Where did you find them? Ive seen 2 kinds before i was ready to buy them now i can only find the 1 that looks crazy hard.
Ebay, they are the V2's, I had heard V1 was not good, but decided to give the V2's a try :)

You're so right. My mother-in-law just replaced her 30+ year old fridge. My hubby who works in the appliance industry says you're lucky to get 10 years out of the new ones. Granted the new ones are more efficient but he says there is no reason not to make them longer lasting as well other than…make more money from us.

There is something new coming that is a Zen- Provape combined effort that involves the Radius.

Provape sent emails shortly after the deeming that, in essence, said they would not be pursuing a pmta due to the cost and uncertainty of approval.

    I have talked to several reps across different products. Shoes are now designed to last 6 months, TV's 5 -7 years, Computers 2 -3, Appliances 7 - 10, Cars 5 - 7...

And these are not based on your usage, but on average usage rates. For example if you use your shoes everyday - 3 months maybe. TV's more than 4 - 6 hours a day - 3 - 5 years, etc...

This is interesting. How will they be able to provide a new product that wasn't on the market prior to 8/8 without a pmta?

eta: wonder if it is that atty that is like dual sided? I have seen pics of those on the Radius.

Same here. And regardless of assurances we might get from them to the contrary, we all know companies, even good ones, sometimes go under. That's why I now have 4 brand new minis plus one on they way…more than I need for my life expenctancy! If the company is not here years from now to service a problem I can pull a new one out of the stash.

We that have been around the block a time or two were around when folks took pride in making something that would last for years. For the most part that pride has been replaced by the almighty dollar now :( Seems the motto now is make it as cheap as possible, get top dollar for it but hope it breaks and has to be replaced quickly.
My last kenmore washing machine lasted for about 25 years and that was using it just about every day. When I had to finally replace it I asked the sales lady if she thought the one I was buying would hold up like the original. She was totally honest and said it would really surprise her if it did.
Younger folks have always had it the way it is now so they accept it because they never knew it any other way and that is just sad :(

Just get what you can Breezy, and be satisfied in knowing that what you do have will give you excellent service.
