Gearbest has the Kepler 510 heat sinks on sale,, shipped from NYC i got 2 for 1.98 & no postage. those things tend to be $3+/- from FT and wait. (the dif potential for Kepler / clone,,, is occasionally the pin doesnt adjust as well, and since this is sort of a safety feature i leaned more towards the Kepler)

Kepler 510 Finned Heat Sink for Atomizers

@ 99 cents a copy I bought 5 sight unseen however will dissassemble one when they show up.

The FT version does have a copper pin however the length of the pin is NOT ADJUSTABLE. To be adjustable there needs to be TWO parts, one which screws into the other. The FT version is just a single pin.

Ok, the $64 question that everyone is likely asking themselves is "how long does this stuff last?" or "how long can I expect it to last?".

I recall when I started vaping it took a whole 2-3 months of swapping clearo coils every 1-4 days to drive me to RTA's and tanks that had a RBA or could be bought. While I learned I was swapping builds very frequently (actually ran out of a few grades of wire).

One of the other factors in these early days was I was vaping flavored juice (store bought and DIY). Once I got used to unflavored juice I find my builds last MONTHS if not weeks.

So I'm trying to re-calibrate my clearomizer coil expectations so I can attempt to calculate a coil stocking level. Anyone else have a good feel for how long Evod, Areotank and Protank heads last with unflavored juice?

@Two_Bears I just received the bell caps for the KFL's yesterday. I have the Ephro Kayfun Lites. The bell caps go on the KFL as shown? They don't leak around the top of the chimney when turning upside down to fill?

I get about 1 week on the Protank heads vaping at 1% flavoring - 2 weeks unflavored - it depends upon the heat you are applying also. A higher level vaper might get more mileage or less. I would expect more because when I notice the first bit of flavor drop I increase the volts/wattage for a while and get the flavor back...

I just ran 20-25 ml of unflavored through a coil. I do tend to replace them often as they are cheap. Depending on how guncky the juice is I get between 5-10 ml for a flavored juice.

View attachment 600251 I am really liking this flavor blend by Flavor West! If you can get past name, it is worth trying :) Warm cinnamon roll with chocolate sauce and ice cream :) Thought I'd post a pic LOL It is a really nice blend :)

I might have to try some of that. If for no other reason than when my sister asks me "What flavor you vaping today?"

    It sounds pretty good too.

I'm a low wattage vaper using a DIY mint/menthol mix which is almost colorless. On silica wicked clearos we get two to three weeks per coil, or about 100-150 ml vaped. I can imagine unflavored would last even longer.

I'm thinking that I may be able to get as much mileage out of the clearo coils as I do my own builds which is 1-3 months. It is hard to say as by the time I need to pull the wick and dry burn I've forgotten how long it has been since the last time. (maybe I need to date my builds?) LOL!

I'm currently guessing one per month. Given that the batteries for these clearo's have ~300 charge cycles 25 atomizers per battery ought to be more than enough. (some of them ARE rebuildable if I wish to go that route)

Thanks for the feed back folks!

I got my first 120mL bottle of 100mg/mL Nic base from them when I was first learning DIY. It was great - smooth, not peppery, etc. I really liked it in my eliquids. I tried theirs first because I also bought my first bunch of flavorings from them. I still use them frequently, and have always been pleased with their products, service, careful packaging for shipment, etc.

Since then, when companies have had special deals or discounts on Nic base...I've also bought and used it from Nude Nicotine, My Freedom Smokes, RTS, and more from Wizard Labs. Out of the 4 of those, my least favorite was MFS, because to me it was the most peppery. Many people who vape tobacco flavored eliquids like it the best though...because it's alittle peppery and they say gives them a better throat hit. I'm not looking for throat hit though, so I prefer the other 3.

Many people also use & really like Heartland Vapes and Nicotine River. I've personally not tried those 2 though, so I can't offer any personal info. about them.

MMMmmmm.... I just put my MFS nicotine in freezer but do have a small bottle left over and will try it.

To compare, I guess it will have to be unflavored base plus the nic only. Does the PG or VG nic base affect?

Is there a review of each Nicotine from those suppliers, RTS, MFS, WL, BCF, Nicotine river, nude nictoine, ECX and so on?

I keep track of all my tank's wire/wick changes in my iphone/icloud notes so I can edit them from my phone or pc easily. I have too many tanks in rotation not to track them in some way.

There is a huge nic comparison thread you can search through for recent reviews/comparisons - Nicotine Comparisons

I have vaped my pg/vg with no nic and with nude/mfs and at the 2 - 3mg nic I vape there isn't much of a change from the 0mg base. I would suggest you mix a small bottle of 0mg pg/vg and another with nic and compare for yourself.

I track mine in a spreadsheet

Which tanks 14 on the go, flavors and when the coil was last changed. Another page for what I have spent broken up with a vaping cost and a stockpile cost. A bunch of notes copied from various places.

I don't even want to know how much I spent the past few months, let alone the year before I started stocking up. Far more than what I used to spend on smoking for a year but I am good to go sans things like flavors, wick, batteries, etc for the next ~20 years so it should even itself out eventually (I hope).

It's one of those things I always forget. If I was still smoking it would cost $4500 per year.
