I spent a whopping $11 this week at FT.... 2 Griffin parts kits, 3 Griffin replacement glass tanks and 100 premade 0.5ohm 24ga kanthal coils.

Re: the coils.... just over $0.05 each for a very well reviewed 100 pack of coils in the resistance I use in my Subtank Minis is a no brainer. I have well over 1000 feet of wire, but I can't make a coil for $0.05!

My spending has slowed down considerably. I am now just buying when things are so cheap, it makes sense to add to the stockpile. Even then, my buying days are coming to an end as I have so much gear.
That id one great benefit of being prepared. Yoy have supplies to last months so when toy see a bargain on something go ahead and scoop it up.

It really does look beautiful... i would already have one if i didn't see so many neg comments about the airflow, but i don't like tight draws anyway, i prefer airy...
A LOT of people kicked against the Kayfun 5 or Mini v3 because tge airflow was too loose. With tge Mini V3 i could take a slightly restrictive Lung hit on tge Mini V3.

Have you tried the Melo 3 tank on another mod or two ? Sounds like you've most likely have a problem with the tank's 510 connection pin not making contact with the mod's 510 pin. I'd try other mods first to see if it works on them. You may need to gently, using fingernails or a pin to pull the pin out a bit. Gentle being the key word here ;)
Very good point. Some mods have a spring loaded 510 and others have a stationary 510. Mg Friend Bill was using an X6 battery witg CE4 clwaromiser. Hs had to get a GS H2 after breaking his CE4. LATER he picked up other CE4 but they wouldnt work because tge GS H2 had pushed tge 510 so tge CE4s NO longer made contact

Not going to stock up on anything. I believe if there is anything worth hoarding years worth of supplies to ensure continued use it might be a problem lol. Don't get me wrong I love my vape I really really do. But if it comes down to it I guess I will just quit . If the tobacco companies were facing a similar situation which I really wish they were I would not run out and buy 20 years worth of smokes. I hate that this is even an issue , what a damn shame considering what we now know aND also what we dont. I find it criminal to take something like this away from those who need it or may have been able to use it in the future to get off the nasty smokes , which nobody disputes are the most dangerous , deadly , consumer product ever let loose on society. Still though I won't be a slave to any of it . If it's gone it's gone , unfortunate as it may be . It really makes me mad but I won't be stock piling anything.
Mike there is a difference between prepping and hoarding.

Trust me i know. I had a neighbor with 650 ceramic twa pots in a 1 bedroom apt.

Prepping us stocking up on things yoy will use anyway.

Ive had a prepping mind set since taking that survival course in 1973.

I have a bug out bag with spare clithes, water filters, compass, emeegency blankets, etc. Add food and fuel to it. I can be out tge door in 10 minutes with enough food snd fuel to survive in tge Catalina foothills for 3 weeks with several buried caches i can dig up where i can stay in the hills for 6 months. Have alcohol stoves so i can cook my food without a wisp of smoke betraying my location.

Now that's preparedness.

The best way to survive Is to keep your head while others are freaking out. While people are freaking out and looting i will have hot food and taking it easy in my Hammock tied between two Mesquite trees. :)

I teach high school and the move to technology 99% of the time and the constant dog and pony shows have me wore out!
But soon that fixed income will be staring back at me and I never feel like I have enough blister packs to last me 20 years!
I can build coils but I haven't dipped my toes into DIY yet!

I hear you on all dog & pony stuff, as well as pretty much taking the "teacher" out of the teaching process. That was coming when I retired. Friends who were still teaching 2-3 years later...told me I got out just in time! Not many of them stayed much longer either.

About the fixed income - In my county the teachers had pretty much been on a "fixed income" for years already. Then, the school year after I'd retired in July...they got a nice, big, raise. Would've bumped me up $7,200 that year! If I'd have known that was coming...I'd have stayed 1 more year. I took early Soc. Sec. at 62, so I could start making use of it...while I was still able to enjoy it!

With DIY - Go ahead and dip your toes in it...the water's fine, and it's fun, too! There are lots of us here to help you learn how to do it. All you need to do is ask. :)

I could use some good pre built coils! My eyesight and crazy hands will appreciate it! I have never bought pre builts but I think it's time!
Are there any that are made in the USA?
USA made coils are crazy expensive generally.

These seem great for the price. Good reviews and a few resistance/wire options.....

$5.61 Kanthal A1 Pre-Coiled Resistance Wire for Rebuildable Atomizers (100-Pack) - 24 AWG / 0.5mm dia. / 0.5ohm / 21.8*21.8mm leads at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I started mass producing coils a while ago. Whenever I made coils for my Protanks I made a few extra and put them in a box. Plan was to build up a lifetime supply. Installing them is a lot easier than winding them. I did the calculations and it wouldn't take too many hours work to get where I want to be. Made a couple of extra Kayfun coils as well. Figured I could do it now while my eyes and hands are still capable. I guess eventually I will get to where I can't even install them.

I got lazy though. I started using coils from the stash box. One of these days I'll get back on track.

I retired 3 months before my 51st birthday! I'd taught school for 30 years (which I dearly loved), and would have taught for 5-10 more easily, but too many changes I didn't like were coming to our school district. Friends said, "Won't you be bored...being retired at only 51?" I told them I doubted it, but I'd let them know in a few years. Never been bored yet, and that was just slightly more than 12 years ago!

I honestly don't know how I had the time to teach, grade papers and make parent phone calls at night... AND sell part-time on eBay, take care of 8+ critters including horses, and the rest of my normal activities! My health has remained excellent, especially since I quit smoking nearly 3 years ago. Only thing is...I don't like the weight gain that came with AT ALL!

So, I'm with you - retire while you can still enjoy life, do things you've always wanted to do, take up new hobbies or interestes if you want to, travel, etc. Too many wait too late to actually enjoy their retirement years IMO.

I don't have a lot put away but if I do hit in 2018 when I hit 55 I'll have enough to take care of the basics. I figure on travelling, finding a small flat/room in a City/Town/Village. Figure get to know the area and people, pick something up on the side to pay for extra's. Hell maybe teach some English, basic computer skills or maybe a bit of Computer Network work for small business, be a Mototaxi driver. Hell anything that doesn't take much effort or time, only something for a bit of small change.

A LOT of people kicked against the Kayfun 5 or Mini v3 because tge airflow was too loose. With tge Mini V3 i could take a slightly restrictive Lung hit on tge Mini V3.

Kayfun V5 works great, very restricted airflow in my book

Yeah I just got a couple of multi partition pill containers to store my coils and going to be doing the same thing. Great minds think alike ;)

I wish I could retire. I don't think I am wired for it though. Since my teens I go 25 to 30 hours up, sleep 4 to 6, then rinse and repeat. That's a lot of time to fill.
Oh I'll still be very active, just removing a major portion of BS from my life. My focus is going to be to enjoy life and not being a Corporate Slave ;-)

I chose a 20 year stock up plan when I decided not to let the politicians decide if I can vape, going forward. I'm 62 now, and doubt I'll be vaping when I'm 82, if I even make it that long. So, the 20 year plan left me plenty of margin for early mod failures and the like. I feel pretty good about my stock.

I'm suffering a severe case of jealousy though, reading all the retired comments..lol. My retirement target is August, when I turn 63. We'll see if I have to adjust that target when it gets closer. Hopefully I'll have the right ducks in the right row. I'm beyond fed up with the 40 hour rat race.

I meant to be done by August but ended up continuing for a while picking up sale items. But I haven't bought anything in over a month now and I just don't want anything else. I'm pretty vape gear saturated at this point. I'll be in for some new 18650s though if anyone sees a sale somewhere.
