Prefilled Cartridges and a small selection of bottled juices were the choices of the day in 2010. Most were tobacco flavors with names suggestive of the cigarettes they mimicked.

There was the Joye 510 cig-a-like that looked like a plastic cigarette. The filter part was a plastic tube with a hole on the end to draw through. Inside was a wad of cotton that you dripped juice into. The longer part had a slim battery with a coil that contacted the cotton when you snapped it all together. You could vape for a few minutes on a fill. The hard part was sensing when the juice was about gone. Push it too far and the cotton would scorch. Then, you had to pull it out and repack the filter part.

The eGo model used a prefilled catridge with a similar heating coil and a metal mesh instead of cotton. It was a leaky world back then.

Things really have changed for the better! Thank you for sharing!!

This is like the cig-a-like I started with except my batteries were automatic. It took a dozen batteries to get through a day but it worked for me. One really had to be ready to quit smoking for it to work. I was ready...... Finding cartomizers was a game changer for me. They held sooooooo much more e-liquid (maybe 1/2 ml.) :D

I don't think I could have made it back then, but I'm happy that y'all did and it paved the road for better ecigs!

The SR cartos were too weak. And you weren't supposed to use the LR (2.0 ohm) cartos with those batteries. I did anyway.

But, since I was afraid the LR would destroy those little batteries, I quickly switched to dripping on 306 atties, which tended to be just barely low enough resistance (about 2.2 ohm). Drip tip, 3 drops, and 10 minutes of vaping. Almost like smoking in its simplicity.

I actually still have some of my original 3.0 Ω cartomizers. Once I found 'em I stocked up on 'em :D 2.0 Ω was considered low back then.

Funny how some of the simpler stuff bubbles to the top or finds its way into the mod+tank rotation.

Case in point: within reach I have a Hadaly BF, KFv5 and Lemo2. When I look across the room to the 'charging station' there is another Lemo2 mounted.

I came to the slow realization that I actually LIKED the Lemo2 and attempted to order more from FT - and was shocked for a moment that they were 'discontinued'!! After a quick Google search I found a vendor that I'd used before that had stock and now I have two 'spares' with me.

As I look at the SXminiM+Lemo2 I realize that it was this exact setup that I migrated to from eGo stuff nearly 2 years ago in June.

I have a drawer full of mods and tanks that are ether stock piled or did not make it into the daily rotation. Its nice to see that a setup that I bought nearly 2 years ago still 'makes the cut' and is in daily use today.

Some of the 2015 technology might be discontinued now but is still working strong.

My JoyeTech 510 kit worked for me, too! Was a double one with (2) manual 380mAh batteries, (2) atomizers, (5) foam-filled cartridges/tips, a wall charger, a USB charger, and manual. Could go longer between recharges since they weren't the shorty 150mAh or 280mAh batteries.

I bought about 5 more of the 380mAh batts as I tapered off smoking, from Nov. 2013-Jan. 14, 2014. That March, I luckily discovered the little Vision Nano clearomizers and thought I was in vaping heaven! They each lasted up to 9 days before giving out on me. Bought a bunch and have 90+ in my stash for my "very senior years". Then in August 2014 I bought many of the eGo 1100mAh batteries and Innokin 16D clearos. Still have quite a few new ones of both things in my stash now.

Still have all the 510 cigalike stuff and even bought more kits for friends who wanted to quit smoking and wanted cigalikes, too. They worked for all of us! Even have 2 whole kits in the stash and about 15 extra new batteries. Surprisingly...all the 510 batteries still take and hold a charge. Have had only 3 of the eGos quit working out of 24 I've bought since August 2014. Still use some of all the old stuff every now and then, especially if I want to stealth vape somewhere. Use some, too, for friends and others who want to try vaping with something not very obvious...before buying a larger kit.

Ran out of room in the storage tub for mods and have to go get a new/larger one so decided to do a mod count check. Not shown are the 2 Hohm Wrecker G2's in transit and 4 pico's I have gifted to my brother's girl friend and her daughter in law.... not even close to done stocking up on mods. :D

I tried cartos along the way, too, but not many times! Also, like you, have a stash of them now. But I didn't buy most of mine until last June from Alvin Ecigs, when they were $.99/box of 5 Boges. Even had 1 vendor who was getting rid of most old school stuff...actually send me a FREE new Phiniac glass carto tank! Never had even seen 1 until that 1 arrived in the mail. Guess you'd know what that is...right?

I know what it is but I never got into carto tanks. I know some folks really loved 'em though.

Did you get some of the cartos when I posted the deal I'd found at Alvin Ecigs? I'd called the owner with a question about the length of some of them, since it wasn't given. Also told her I was going to post about the deal if she had quite a few boxes of them to sell. She called me the next day and said she'd sold out of all 220 boxes within 2 hours of my posting about it. I know there were lurkers who got some, but many who post did, too.

No, I didn't. It was a great deal but I no longer use them and hope I never have to resort to the ones I have in my may have to use someday box :D If I could find that kind of deal on CE3 XL clearomizers though I would snatch them up in a hurry. My sister loves them so I gave her all of the ones I had left from the time I used them. I actually think they produce the best flavor of any topper I have used but I am not partial to having to fill upside down with a syringe. I actually still keep one filled with higher mg e-liquid on top of a 900mah auto battery for a quick hit when needed. Since I don't hit it often one can last me several months.

I know of only one place that still sells them but they are about $10.00 for 5 of them.

Sure do know what they are. Still have a few in the stash!!. And a boat load of boges.

Carto tanks is what kept me vaping. And yes, I still love them. They were a vast improvement over the 'other' type of tanks that were emerging on the market. And I think at the time I tried them all. LOL And then 'jonboy' started making his tanks and they like the phiniac tanks were a work of art.

I also remember when Joyetech started putting usb ports in their ego's. I was so happy I could charge my ego's in the car on the way to work so that when I arrived I would be fully charged up for the day.

    :)

Was this the place? They have the CE3 XL for $8.50/pack of 5, but only have the SR 2.6-2.8 in stock now.

    CE3 XL Clearomizer

They also have the 1mL CE2 XL for only $3.99/pack of 5

    CE2 xl clearomizer

By the way, those look very similar to my little Vision Nano clearos that have been discontinued. Except they don't require a syringe to refill them.

Thank you. yep, that's the place. Since they don't offer free shipping I just rounded up to $10.00 :D Just put 10 in my cart and they want to charge me 13.65 to ship them. Changed it to 5 and still the same shipping charge. Sis just needs to get used to some other kind of topper.
That is a good price on the CE2's but I am thinking that they are top coil.

Just called and asked the lady about S/H and the CE2 XL ones. She said often the S/H is more than the items because it's by Priority Mail. But, that $13.65 is ridiculous...must be Flat Rate Medium or Large size PM. The CE2 are also bottom coil like the CE3. :)

EDIT: Nope! I just went and put 10 (2 boxes of 5) in my cart and it's $13.65 by PM Flat Rate Envelope! They must have about a $6+ Handling charge in that $13.65 S+H! Rip-off artists, IMO. I'll keep looking for you.

So I guess I shouldn't be ashamed that I really like my pt2 and mini's! I really love them, but they seem so out dated!
As far as I am concerned something is outdated only if it no longer works as it should. I know we seem to live in a world where one has to have the latest and so called greatest. I just stick with what works for me. Hold your head up high and enjoy using what works for you.
