Well, perhaps I should stop being lazy and just coil my own again. I'm going to do one next time around. Doesn't hurt to keep the skills fresh either!
I’m lazy. I make a bunch at a time in various diameters/ohms. Saves time when I’m ready to rebuild.

While you're getting ProVari parts you need now for your 2.5...you might want to pick up the following from the same seller while they're available and are inexpensive. They could help make the difference in you being able to use your PV for the longhaul...or not. He does combine S/H. He used to be 1 of the ProVape owners and has been selling off remaining ProVari "stuff" on eBay for several years now. Good guy to buy from, too!

Better than a drill or fiddling with wrapping the complex, twisted coils. Also, good for people with arthritis and such. It's all relative.
I like it because I can turn out a pile of coils quick. But, everyone needs to pick what works best for them. It’s only a waste if it’s not your cup of tea
It's not hard to twist your wrist to wrap a coil around a mandrel. Why pay that much for a battery operated doodad?
I just bought 2 Silverplays for backup insurance purposes, 9.99 each not too bad.You might consider the Silverplay on clearance at vapordna, I think it takes it to $9. I like a loose mtl. I have maybe 10 or so
It IS hard for some people. Some folks have MS or other conditions. Tremors make it harder to do.

Why not if it suits the person buying it? Value is subjective - what works for one person may not for the next
Because any tool that makes something easier and has better results is always a good investment. Especially for someone with arthritis or other handicaps. A good example is the Avidartisan Daedalus. I can wrap claptons by hand but by using a tool that cost me $40 It's much easier and faster.
