I expect most mods to last a lot longer than we think. I've heard people allow for them lasting 1 year. But I have mods I bought in 2015 and 2016 that I'm still using and they work as well as when I first bought them. They may look a little rougher, but they vape the same. The only 2 mods I ever had that quit were internal battery mods. I do have a lot of mods stocked up, but I'll probably never need many of them. It's nice to know that I have enough to feel comfortable. However, I'm at home most of the time, so there are less mishaps that come when you're out and about. So your mileage may vary.
My first REO from 2013 is pristine and I vaped it almost exclusively for years. Same for my provari of the same vintage. Heck my old original protank still works (yes I still have coils for it).

That said I do have a couple of mods I don't expect to hold up too long. My 2 SMOK Aliens have been workhorses for me but I have heard others have had problems with them so I sort of figure they will quit fairly soonish.

Overall the vast majority of my collection is mechs. I really don't expect too many issues from them that I can't fix or find a friend to fix.

Which Silverplay? If it’s the one vapordna has on clearance, I’ve used both 2.5 and 3, 28 guage. Cram as much rayon in a possible. Put the cages on with its lid, then trim the wicks even with the cage. I bought, well... a LOT of them over time because they were easy to wick and didn’t leak. I’m not particularly a meticulous builder

Yes, it's the Silverplay w/ adjustable air flow, 2 post. We may be up to 10 'em now ... yep easy to build and a good vape. Just don't forget to close off the juice control sleeve more than you think on your 1st build ... then adjust from there. I left mine wide open thinking I had enough rayon stick through. Nope, not at all. Major flooding and leaking on my 2nd fill up.

Yep again, my most used mod, basically every day, I bought in Oct of 2015. I've got older ones still working but not in continuous use since I got them. And for me that's typical, most of our mods date back to that time frame.

No extra hour for me in AZ. Hmph. Not that believe I'll need it. Nice to know the Silverplay isn't too hard, I keep wanting to build mine because in the package (to me anyway) it looks just like a little Alien baby. The movie, not the "real" ones with the big eyes (or so I am told they are real.)

So far they have not "shown" themselves to me. I'm QUITE fine with them considering too substandard a human for them.

Recoiled a tank. Nothing bad happened .I still feel compelled to note when this occurs. LOL

Yeah yeah I was saying doggystyle for a long time, I was like "Isn't the tank French or whatnot, I'm sure they KNOW their sexual positions.

Like the extra space makes any difference in my mind but yeah snake country.

Have not seen a snake in Douglas yet. A scorpion entered our abode. I really hate THEM too. It was one of the small ones. The husband smashed it. I really need to reperimiter our house with raid.

You just can't ever just do nothing unless you live in a condo, but then conversely, you can't do ANYTHING. Except pay expected (and UNEXPECTED sometimes for like dumb reasons like we were like, "Listening to the song paint it black and we thought, "Let's paint it BLUE! You owe us 3k extra in maintenance fees."

Course condo managers don't listen to that song. It's my FEW Rolling Stones songs I love.

Good for vaping right now too:

Speaking of lasting how long do you expect mods to last?
I was figuring an average of 1 year each for mine. I think that is probably conservative, but I wanted to feel confident that I had enough just in case a few were duds or I lost or accidentally damaged some. For most mods I got 3 of each (except the solos, I got 6 of those), but I tried to get a variety of different brands in case there was a common problem with a certain brand (i.e. bad electronics). I also have 7 mech mods and 3 mech squonkers.

I have 72 mods total: 18 built in battery mods for the first 4+ years and then 54 regulated and mech mods. I have that many built in battery mods because I am counting 3 that are being held together by packing tape and superglue and for 10 of them there was a tank that I wanted multiples of that I could only find in kits that came with a built-in battery mod. Many will probably go to waste as they will be useless in 3-4+ years. :( But maybe I can barter them for something else once the crud hits the fan.

Based on that, I have 58 years of mods. I was getting them for 2 people, so 29 years worth each. I also have 5 USB pass-throughs that do not have batteries.

I might get a few more that use the newer 21700/20700 batteries as I only have 8 of those, just to make sure I have all bases covered.

EDIT: The reason I mostly got 3 of each is I am putting them each into plastic bags with silica gel packets then boxing them into 3 different boxes. 1 for my house, then 1 to store at my daughter's house and one to store at my brother-in-law's house (in case of a fire or hurricane). Doing the same with the nic, splitting it between the 3 houses.

And you're welcome for the link to the bubble glass. Actually someone quite a number of pages back clued me into where to get them. He/she deserves the thanks, I just forget who it was,.
That would be me... lol I just posted it again because I was catching up on the new pages and did not see the link was posted again. ;)

Is it best to store internal battery mods at 40% charge? Are lipos like Lii when it come to storage?

    Curious, which pass-throughs you got?

Now that is some serious stockpile. Good for you!

From what I understand, yes. That is what I am doing with mine.
Looks like I'm going to be searching for a new charger, even though I don't need one.
Mine doesn't tell me what level the charge is at, and I have a lot of batteries to check, if I want them to last.

Revolution Vapor - m-Power USB Passthrough - Variable Voltage goes down to $6.99 ea if you get 3+. Free shipping on orders over $30... I did not see anything else that I liked, so I got 5 pass-throughs to get over $30. (splitting those up between the 3 houses too. lol). I know other people got some after me, and then others after that wanted them and they were sold out... But it looks like they have inventory again, so whoever you people were, they have them now! lol

Aside from using them as a last resort, I also figure when I travel I will keep 2 in my luggage in the event a TSA agent gets weird about batteries in the future. That way my wife and I are not stranded out of state or out of the country with no way to vape.

I figure if one of the 3 houses burns down, pulls a Wizard of OZ in a hurricane, gets broken into and robbed, etc.. I will still be left with 2/3rds of my stash. With tapering down a bit on the nic levels and being careful with the rest of my hardware inventory we could still get by for the rest of our lives.

A good yardstick to how venomous a scorpion is is to check claw size and tail thickness. The main rule of thumb is that the smaller the claws (nippers) are in relation to the body, the more venomous it is. A species of scorpion with large claws has evolved those over time as their main defense mechanism.

A species of scorpion with small claws has less need of them because their venom is more potent.

The tail thickness is another sign - if a scorpion has large claws it usually has a relatively thin tail and less potent venom. The reverse applies in that a scorpion with relatively small claws has a relatively thicker tail and more potent venom.

The Arabian Fat Tailed Scorpion is a classic example:
