Any advice?

I want:
Top fill
Top air flow
Ability to use .20-.50 coils ( i see a lot of t???8 or t??12-- but I don't know what all that means- simple kanthalA1 is fine for me,, I'm 28-35 watts .20-.50 ohms is my zone

Large capacity or bubble glass swap would be great
TFV8 baby beast would be the proper head series (& therefore a tank compatible with those heads).

Super common format.

The tfv12 series is more about high power, low ohms, multi-coil heads.

I have never bought a Smok product ever,,, I know the mods have a bad rep,, but I see so many of their attys everywhere,, and noticed they also seem to be the most common coil available,,, been thinking about getting 1 + coils for old age,, I was going to commit to my old KangerTech,, until I started seeing venders list how many/few coils they had ,,so I gave it to someone here. Anyway,,, any Smok tank advice?

I have some Smok products. I LOVE my 225W Mag kit... but the TFV12 Prince tank does leak. Not a lot, but if I keep the tank tipped near my lips and don't inhale a little dribble comes out. This doesn't happen with every coil but it does happen with some coils. Aside from that it only leaks when first filled, which I have solved by ALWAYS leaving the tank full and upside down for an hour before starting a new tank. My Dad also likes his Smok products a lot, he uses the TFV8 series stuff, baby and baby beast. If nothing else I'd recommend staying away simply for how confusing their naming system is.

What Kangertech coils would you be getting? If I had the choice I'd stick with my square 0.5 ohm OCC coils for the Toptanks. That's why I have 80+ boxes of those coils. And those things NEVER leak on me, no matter what I do to it.

I had thought Kangerwholesale still had plenty at a pretty good price but I just looked and there's only 6 boxes left... guess whose glad they stocked up before May.

Although a lot of tanks that share TFV8 compatibility offer what you need, the one exception is top air. The Smok X-baby series does offer that but it's not compatible with any of the traditional TFV8 tanks, so it would paint you into a corner with those heads.

Outside of top air, the Eleaf Ello, Vaporesso Cascade & NRG , Smok TFV8/Baby/Big Baby/Baby Prince, Wotofo Flow/Flow Pro, Geekvape Illusion Mini and Joyetech Procore Air series will work as well as some others have listed above.

Edit: Also the Vaporesso SKRR, as large as 30mm if you want to go big!
Edit 2: The Geekvape Illusion Mini is compatible, not the Illusion

I can give up top air flow (& Smok) as long as I can get coils pretty easily & reasonably)

Until earlier chat,, I never heard of cascade or nrg,, wotofo makes good products

A bunch of us have been getting Hellbeasts, and Cerberus' via Aegis Solo kits. I mentioned the NRG because the black at $10 is sweet and overall Vaporesso makes solid gear.

My suggestions were based on us having a similar general play space in terms of power and ohms.

For anyone interested DIrt cheap Ohmie coils asMODus Ohmie Replacement Coil (Pack of 5)

Tempting... not that I don't have enough boxes of coils. Think the fact that they don't fit the Cerberus tank rules them out for a big stockpile but 10 boxes couldn't hurt...

Anyone tried them yet? Mine aren't expected until Saturday and they got shipped to my work so I won't have them until Monday. Got a green and a white kit.

If the coils hold up like smok coils do for me then likely 10 boxes would be a 2 year supply for me

The colossal itself had very good reviews from djlsb and vaping with Vic.

The tank appears to be a bit "mehh". One reviewer (not Daniel or Vic) thought the higher ohm coil was better, another thought the lower ohm was better, neither seemed too pumped up by it. I'll stand my my "PIF pile" approach [emoji16]

    The 'Burgh, PA.
I see you are in Pixsburgh, PA. What hospital in pixburgh confiscates ecigs? Is it UPMC? AHN/AGH? Very curious. SO I am very interested to know which hospital this is exactly.

@UncleJunkle ...UPMC-Shadyside is the one I've been admitted to...there are ""We Confiscate All E-Cigarettes" signs all around...but I'm pretty certain that is the policy at ALL the many UPMC Hospitals in The 'Burgh...

Has never really been a problem...whenever Nurse/Doc leave the room they always ask "Door...Open?...Closed?"...and I always say "Closed...it's SO noisy out there"...

Besides...if they ever DID confiscate a Fling...I'd only be out $5...

(It's mildly ironic in that my Doc...6+ years ago...suggested to me..."You know you've been smoking for 50+ years...have you ever considered switching to e-cigarettes?")...

Does anyone else have problems re-wrapping batteries? Just a blow dryer they said...

I even bought OBD wraps. Literally hear krinkling!!!

    :(:(
I got an actual heat gun for like $15 at the hardware store. Don't own a hair dryer. LOL

With a heat gun I never had a problem.

I carefully just use a lighter. But then I'm crazy like that. But I hear you can use a hair dryer. Never tried it, though.

I tried a blow dryer and got nowhere. Dug out the heat gun and it worked just fine.

I used a blow dryer. About burned my finger off trying to keep the insulator on long enough to get that side to flip down. I have a heat gun somewhere. But where is the operative part of it.

I use a little travel blow dryer.

Start with the part that overlaps the positive terminal insulator, then down the sides; a quick pass along the two creases on the wrap, then evenly along the sides until it's snug.

Finish with the part that overlaps the negative contact.

Once the wrap has been positioned, the actual time with the dryer is quite small.
