Back when I used mechs, which was like 2009ish (after I got tired of cigalikes, and the larger pen batteries that came after them), there was not much talk about ohm's law as everything out there seemed to be able to run everything just fine without needing to worry about it.

Heck, I even made some mods using parts from MadVapes and they ran on a single battery the exact size of a AA (but was like 3.7V, I cannot remember the model number of those). One of my first pre-built mods was a Roughstack which ran on an 18350 button top, but I never had to worry about ohms/amps/or any of that. (I still have that mod. lol)

The hardware I am talking about using is something that belongs in a time capsule. lol The last thing I would intend to do is to run 2019 tech on 2009-2011 hardware. i.e. I am not planning on running my Hellbeast with a .2 ohm coil on these. More like a ViVi Nova with a 2.4ohm coil. But because I never had to worry about that when that old hardware was in style, I have absolutely no clue what the power of the batteries were at the time for comparison to the button tops I have right now. If I were a betting man, I would say they are more than safe, but I just want to be certain.

EDIT: When I use an Ohm's Law calculator for 3.7V and 2.4 ohms it says 1.54167 amps. 4.2V it says 1.75amps. But I am not sure if I am doing that correctly... lol If I am doing that right, it should be well within the battery's 4.9amp capability.
I'm running a Vivi Nova at 2.4 ohms right now and even I probably wouldn't use them for vaping. I stick to batteries rated 10 amps continuous or better just to have plenty of headroom. We know more and have much better options now than in the early days.

Yours would work fine for those small single coils that require less power to heat up at five watts or less but not many of us are still vaping that style. I might pull out the Roughstack or the Mini Vapestack and dig up a carto now that you reminded me - those were good vapes back in the day!

Great long life batteries for an 18650 flashlight though. I got one a few years ago to use up my old Trustfire batteries and they're still in service since they get limited use.

I don't understand all that ohms law junk... does anyone know what these batteries could safely run on a mech mod? I have 4 of them, I mean can they do anything more than a flashlight? lol:
18650 Panasonic NCR18650B MH12210 3400mAh 4.9A battery

Like what ohm range (if any) would be safe?
Mooch : "I do not recommend using it over 12W/3A to minimize voltage sag."

Panasonic NCR18650B 4.9A 3200mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...a so-so 4.9A battery

R = V/I = 3.7/3 = 1.23 ohms is the ballpark for lowest resistance. Definitely not for subohm vaping.

I'd go for the flashlight option. If you really want to use them on a mech, be sure to check resistance.

That and the one's I built with the smaller 3.7V "AA size" batteries (14500's?) were my "Stealth Vapes".

When I got mine I bought one backup switch, the original eventually went bad and I swapped it out with the new one.... not sure where to get more switches from now though. I should have saved the dead one as it probably could have been easily repaired.

I remember at one point I got a long 510 extension for it to get over the switch and have enough room for my thumb when using a tank on it... it looked funny that way but it worked (not quite as stealthy that way either). lol

Here's the switch they used - https://www.amazon.com/Components-8551MZQE2-Switch-Push-Button/dp/B00M1RXRB4

I don't know if it's worth it for a trip down memory lane. They sure were hot items in the early days of tubes!

See... I knew I should have saved it... I tossed the tiny little circuit board that it was attached to... Not that I couldn't replace it with the one that is now in there, but I would have had a ready to go backup. :( I am so dumb sometimes. lol
Only those of us who were affected when the FDA tried seizing shipments had the understanding that we might need to stock up back in the heyday of Madvapes and diy modding. We also couldn't foresee the move to subohm vaping styles making much of what we used seemingly obsolete.

No need to beat yourself up - if we had big stockpiles of what we loved in 2012, most of us might regret it today.
(Says the guy with a lifetime stockpile of Vision Novas)

FYI for those of you with Lunas. I did get my 30 Amp Murata batteries working with it. It seems that even though they were new batteries they did not have particularly clean contacts. As soon as I cleaned up the contacts with a scratch pen the Murata started working.

I know many of you don't need to use a 30 Amp battery but I mention this because it might mean the Luna is sensitive to dirty contacts. In which case it can happen to anyone with any battery.

OK, thought I'd doublecheck with some of you on the following. A friend has/uses the Cerberus tank, and loves it. I want to be sure that the SMOK TFV8 Baby RBA that's been discussed...does indeed work in it. I'd like to teach him how to use it, too, and not just use drop-in coils. I remember there being posts about needing a taller replacement glass for some of the tanks that are compatible with that RBA. However, I don't remember if it was the Cerberus, too. So, any input from those who have actually used that RBA in a Cerberus would be appreciated.

There are three options I'm aware of - the Smok Baby RBA, Hellvape Hellbeast RBA and the Ijoy EXO-S RBA. Only the Smok RBA requires a longer glass, the Geekvape Illusion Mini glass for the Cerberus, from another member's test. The Hellbeast RBA's are pretty hard to find. The Ijoy ones, available at Eightvape for $1.99, are simple single coil heads. A few other TFV8 style tanks came with an RBA head but they're pretty obscure.

Edit because I botched the first post.
Protected I wont use. The other 2 did not show as button tops for me when I looked at the page. That could be my browser acting up it wouldn't be the first time. It is now bookmarked ty

To use the BB RBA on the Cerberus you need a different tank glass. I posted on it yesterday evening.

RBA that work directly are the Hellbeast RBA (may be out of stock now) and the ijoy exo s ( iJoy Exo-S Single Coil RTA ). I haven't run the ijoy yet (have 3 on order), but a thread I was reading specifically talked about it as directly usable.

(Whoops, 440BB beat me to it, precisely the same info [emoji16])

Heartland Vapes is on the ball. They emailed me back this morning on the missing bottles, I already have a tracking number[emoji106]

Little funny story. This week I was asking around about how to label my glass bottles of nic in the freezer and @fiddleshe said freezer tape so I ordered some. Then I was looking at the shipping time and it's going to arrive after Christmas which is the long weekend (I got a 5 day weekend coming up!) that I wanted to get this done in.

Started wondering if I had already ordered some as all the glass bottle packages I got from Amazon are unopened. Opened my order history... I ordered a different brand of freezer tape in October. Then I kept looking and I ordered all purpose labels in October as well.

Guess I won't be running out of freezer tape any time soon...

I've done the same thing. I think it explains all the ego connectors, heat sinks, and 810 to 510 adapters I have in stash.

My friend has us both beat. She was cleaning her house yesterday, and found SEVEN rolls of scotch tape!

And THAT is how I ended up with 60 Athena bottles LOL. Fortunately they will work in most of my mods
