Gonna go to Costco this weekend, Lord willing, and pick up one of their seasoned ribeye roasts. MIL got this tradition started several years ago and we intend to keep it up. After Christmas Day we have French Dips though New Year’s. :)

Great minds think alike ...we were at Costco today picking up our standing rib roast. Mom has done one every Christmas since I can remember (sometime in the 1960’s). Best leftovers ever from an excellent meal!

YEP - Make that 3 of "Us" . . .

Recipe & Instructions

Made in the same pan from all the dripping (and maybe a little extra beef fat/butter) from the roast . . . Really - Great the day of . . . AND - Just as good the day after, cold with a slice of beef . . . YUM ! ! ! !

"Special Extra Couple of Tips"

  • The secret to making Yorkshires, as they are fondly known, is to pour well rested, cold batter into slightly smoking hot fat and put immediately back into a really hot oven. It is as simple as that.
  • The best fats to use are lard, dripping duck or goose fat. Some swear by vegetable oil, but this can make them greasy if not used sparingly.

I haven’t ever made Yorkshire Puddings, but I do know how to successfully make popovers. It doesn’t seem like that much of a stretch. Thank you for the tips! :)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyone ever buy from Cvapor before? They say they take Paypal but the chechout requires you to put in your CC info right on their site. :/ No other option other than Western Union.

Put in a message to them about it but will probably have to wait a while to hear back.

I have a feeling they don't actually take paypal anymore.

I broke down and ordered Gemm disposable tanks for the son in laws.
Where did you get yours from? The cheapest I have found is at vapenw at $3.99/2-pack FreeMax GEMM Disposable Tank (2 Pk) and they have a 12% off code: SAVING which brings them down to $3.51/2-pack. ($1.76 each)

I have not ordered any yet because I am waiting for my GEMM to arrive so I can test out both included tanks to see what ohms I want (there are like 6 different options between ohms and levels of mesh). Mine should be here today.

I broke down and ordered Gemm disposable tanks for the son in laws. Yes, they have their own stuff... I have given or “loaned” them plenty.... but apparently my stash is irresistible, as they show up having forgotten theirs. Years past, I’ve let them “permanently borrow” a mod topped with a dl tank from a kit. Being out of PIF tanks, and at this point not willing to lose any of my stash mods... they’ll have to make do with a Gemm on top of my ancient Smok aliens I bought before I knew better. Oddly, they’re worn looking but still perform like new.
That is true of my Aliens as well. I keep using them hoping to wear them out but they refuse to die. They are how I figured out I don't like dual battery mods. Heavy enough that on a bad hands day I can't hold on to them.

That’s a deal on the tanks! I think they were @$7 for two at MFS after the discount code. They had both of the G2 tanks in stock. A review I read said those were the better of the coils for flavor and performance.

I hear you on the bad hand day issues with mods. The aliens are definitely too bulky/heavy for when I have to wear my thumb immobilizer brace. Between the size and the lack of an opposable thumb, I can’t keep a grip on it. They’ll be fine for the boys to use though, and if they forget and take them home after Christmas, I won’t cry a big ol puddle of tears. At this point, I hate to lose any mod, but those I’m not rating high on stash worthiness.

I have to be honest I don't do holidays. I pack the hubby off to his family for the gatherings and I stay home and have a quiet evening. FAR too many people at his family gathering for my anxiety to cope with.

That and my mom ruined Christmas for me when I was little. My birthday is really close to Christmas and I was never allowed a birthday celebration. Just the family party for Christmas. No birthday pressies just Christmas presents and packages under the tree that said "Happy birthday from Santa. DO not open until Christmas." I really learned to hate the holiday.

The wife would never let me get away with that, but thankfully I have Clonazepam.

Hey everybody, I’ve been awol today. Just some mental health break time before the festivities begin.

I received my third and final (??) Luna today. The Black Mosaic. This means I have a White Mosaic, a Blue Stabwood, and now the Black. They are sturdy little guys. Haven’t used one yet, and every time I’m tempted I remember I still am using the Topside 90w and only then half of the time. Still very pleased with the Therion/Serpent Elevate combo and that along with the Brunhilde are what I use 85% of the time.

Anyway - I hope everyone is well :)
I always do prime rib at holidays. Got mine yesterday.

I'm a non-holiday person, too. Or I should say my own holiday. I stay in my jammies, watch movies all day, and eat good snacks! Started my own tradition after the year my whole family went on vacation for Christmas, and did not invite me. That year was pretty awful. Now I go to the Christmas Eve thing grudgingly, and spend Christmas Day by myself. That reminds me, today is a good day to go grocery shopping for Christmas treats! :)

I usually dial Pizza and play video games all day. Watch movies later at night.

Just curious... Did two criminals try to break into your house and you had to be creative to fend them off?

Nahhhh. They didn't forget me. They said they didn't invite me because it would have been an odd number of people, which would have been inconvenient! They did, however, ask me to feed the cats. Which I did. Can't take it out on the poor cats.
