Are they the ones with fins? I bought some previously for the OG THOR which has a lowered 510 deck area but it was blocking the AFC on my bottom afc’s. They work great. Tbh I wasn’t exactly sure what they were for but they work great for my use.
Technically they are made for dissipating heat faster from the bottom of your atty, but this use is only useful for higher-wattage vapers.
Other than that, they can be used to help save the 510 threading on your mod by basically keeping it on your mod and only screwing/unscrewing the tank from the heat sink. Although I have found it's a good idea to remove the heat sink from the mod and clean the threads every so often as it can become "seized" and hard to remove over time. This is where a tiny bit of silicone lube can be helpful, like DaveP mentioned earlier with his Pico battery cap. But just a tiny bit!
Another use for them: if the 510 heat sink has an adjustable 510 pin at the bottom (a screw), it can be used to be able to use a tank that won't work on a mod because the mod has a slightly deeper-than-normal 510 connection, where some tanks won't reach. So you adjust the pin a little long on the heat sink so it connects with the mod's 510 positive pin, then use the tank on top of the 510 heat sink. Now your tank works on the mod because it's able to make a connection.

If they do, I'll be alright with my last surviving tank being a stainless steel Aspire Nautilus, even though it's not an RTA. Build a big enough stockpile of coils and that's not a concern.
If I'm still breathing air at the age of 86, I seriously doubt I'll be fiddling with RTAs.
Yes, they have radiating fins. And they're available with notches for tanks that require airflow at the base.
UncleJunkle has some good information (above). Although, I know the sinks are doing their thing when I'm running 40 watts on my NRG tank. They get quite warm to the touch at this 'relatively' low wattage. Now, is it desirable to draw heat from the tank when you're a tootie puffer? I'm hoping it will avoid some of the hot vape I get when I get carried away chain vaping.

I think I'm down to one or two now; not really sure. I think I kept a KFL+V2 for old times sake, and possibly a Russian 91 as well.
But I'm quite confident the BF RDAs I've been using for 4 years now will continue to work indefinitely. There's really not much that can to go wrong with them.
Well my vapemail for the day was some extra Ratel tanks, RBAs I ordered back in Dec. I think tomorrows package is 8 squonk filler bottles I ordered about the same time. YAY for fastech splitting and resplitting orders.

One bit of info for folks in case anyone else runs into this. I have a Marvic RBA setup in a cerebus tank (with the thinner oring). No matter how I wick it I am getting leaking out the airholes on the first 1/4 of the tank after a refill. After that no leaks. Also no leaks if I only refill it to 3/4 full.
Even with this it is obviously manageable and fantastic to have a rebuildable for the Cerebus as I love this tank.

Short of a miracle everything or nearly everything will be off the market mid may.
Only stuff with PMTA's filed and accepted will be allowed to stay on the market for up to 1 year pending approval/rejection.
Individual States (I am talking about US in all this) might shut it down far sooner though.

I have 128 RTAs, most bought at clearance prices. I don't think I'll be running out anytime soon.
Odd you should mention nursing homes NCC, they have pretty much outlawed smoking and vaping in and around nursing homes in the States....you might see a stray smoking area cordened off at the end of a parking lot if it hadn't been made illegal there yet. Sad for the oldsters who still want to enjoy a pipe of tobacco or a smoke. Most have to go down the street off the grounds. Nice way to treat our oldsters.

No doubt if I'm vaping an RTA in 20 years, it will be some flavor of Kayfun. That's really all I've stocked up on. That and Orchids which are just a Kayfun copy set up for dual coil.

Listening to updates about coronavirus economic impacts. One of the items mentioned is Shenzen is "shut down". So if you have anything going on with Fastech it may be in limbo for a while. Apparently most all forms of shipping are also disrupted.
