the problem is none of these mods have been around long enow to give me the data i need.
i don't care about dust n shock.
i want a mod that will last for years.
For that you have to go back to mods that have been around for years and the classifieds if they are out of production now. My Provari's and REOs are in the ballpark of 7 years old and just as reliable as they were when purchased. I am certain there are other mods from that time in the same category.

A simple mech such as the REO just has less to break and is easier to repair on your own or with the help of a friendly machinist to make a part as they have no wires or chips.

Same goes for simple dripping attys,

I like to tell people their stash should include at least 2 good mech and at least 4 good dripping attys. THey should also learn what they need to know to use both of them SAFELY. Lots of good resources here on ECF and elsewhere on the net for that knowledge.

just my 2 cents

Does anyone have any recommendations on an inexpensive mech mod with a side fire button? (I have 5 bolts, but apparently the side switch on those can only handle something like 3 amps/1.2 ohm or higher.... I have several tube mechs with the button on the bottom, but I'd really prefer a side button).

Also, on a different note... The wife works with snotty disease ridden pre-k kids for the local school district and she ran out of hand sanitizer (she always has it on her lanyard). Obviously the timing was the worst possible to run out. smh I cannot find it anywhere, looked for rubbing alcohol to make our own and finally found some 2-packs at walmart... was looking for stuff to add to get over the $35 for free shipping and they friggin sold out in the meantime. lol I should have just checked out immediately and paid the stupid $5.99 shipping... Anywhoo, if someone sees rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer anywhere, let me know.
I got an super inexpensive side fire clone on FT (I think). I’ll try and hunt it down later. I bought it because I couldn’t find the Vapor Giant one at a reasonable price (then did on clearance later)
Oldest teaches HeadStart (pre-k). She was bemoaning the same thing yesterday. Hand sanitizer, kleenex and clorox wipes... staples for the classroom, and all hard to get right now. They locked theirs in the cabinet to keep people from “borrowing” any.

Yeah I was out this morning trying to find those things for the Hubby this morning. He is a teacher. I did score 2 smaller bottles of rubbing alcohol (70%). Seriously thinking about a bottle of everclear to use to sanitize stuff at home if necessary.

We are not seriously prepping for this. We have the pantry aspect covered just with our usual supplies that we keep on hand at all times. I did pick up an extra month of both of our meds just to be safe. I am coming into my allergy hell season here so I grabbed an extra box of xyzal which works remarkably well for me.

On the vaping front my last 4 orders from China are now all in the shipping pipelines. All were placed in early January. I really would be happier if I had another 1-2 more 20700/21700 mech mods but I will do my shopping for those stateside and it is not the end of the world if I don't find something I like. I will miss buying new vape gear come May but I will adjust and I really do have more than enough to last a lifetime.

$23.64 Authentic HUGO VAPOR BF Squeezer Squonk Mechanical Box Mod - 1*18650/20700 / built-in 10ml squonk bottle / nylonfibre at FastTech - Free Shipping
Is a half decent cheapish mech box mod squonker.
Remember with a squonker yes you can squonk BUT you can allso stick a regular dripping atty on it and use it like any other box mod.

If you're getting a new mech mod I would recommend getting a 21700 mod. You can use 21700, 20700 and 18650s with an adapter. 20700 mods usually won't take 21700s.

Or anybody that can help

I got your recommendation thanks. I’ve unscrewed the back and put batteries in. That’s as far as I can go
I thought it would be ohms then leads together, note, measure and subtract? Doesn’t seem to be settling. Any ideas what I should be doing? Thanks

I'm no expert, but...
  • Turn meter to ohms/resistance (Ω) setting
  • Put leads together (firmly) for a few seconds until the ohms reading settles on a value,
  • Use that Ω value to subtract from the Ω value you get when you measure resistance value on your atty/coil. If your meter isn't settling at an Ω reading when you put the leads together, best to test that by putting that coil on a mod, see what Ω it retells you then measure it on the meter to see what it tells you. Your meter could be faulty or could be the leads are just faulty.
Is this what you're asking?

As long as you have any alcohol over 70% you can mix with any carrier to use as hand sanitizer. Rubbing, drinking.......
You dont need a carrier. The point of aloe is so your hands dont dry out.

Thank you very much. Exactly as I thought. I will make some dinner, muster the energy and tackle it again. Thank you

Amazon's price on Essential Depot VG went up by about 20% a few days ago.
I've been through at least 7 or 8 Glycubes over the years and haven't used any other.
I haven't checked their home site but that's on my list today.

EDIT - same price on their own website

I noticed it was a bit more expensive. Guess I got in just after the price rise. There were some other brands that were cheaper but I've always used ED so I got it anyway.

Pico Mega's have arrived.
Ditto. They came with the Melo 3 tanks. I'm thinking about buying some ECR coils and trying my hand at rebuilding. The regular EC coils are for sub-ohming and I don't sub-ohm. Would be a shame to waste these tanks that would fit so nice on my Picos.

I've found there's a simple alteration you can make to them to make them suitable for MTL, involving restricting the airflow through the bottom of the coil.
