My discover card got compromised in early January. Got a text at around 3AM telling me to call their fraud dept ASAP. Email too. Went back to bed. lol. Because I know Discover is on it.

Next day I checked my account online and it was blocked until I called the fraud dept. No waiting on hold. Call was picked up by a fraud dept agent almost immediately.

By that time 6 charges were made, all under $100. They canceled them all and shipped a new one 2-day fedex. I could still use the old card in the meantime but only at brick and mortar stores.

That's why I only use a credit card or Paypal for online purchases. And when I use paypal, I only use funds from a credit card. The bank account tied to my paypal is a secondary account that only has less then $300 in it at any given time. If my paypal account gets hacked, they don't have access to funds in my main bank account.

Can't say how it happened. Just glad that Discover is easy to deal with. Wasn't really phased by it.

I have some stuff that's been sitting in the cart at FT for months. Thanks to the virus I get to procrastinate some more although I've noticed that my favorite items tend to be discontinued. I still favor the rda and mods i stockpiled several years ago and now discontinued. Why am I buying the new stuff then not using it? I estimate my nic supply is at least 15 and may be 20 years. I hate saying that's enough because it suggests my life is now measured in mililiters.

I knew it! Common sense told me a long time ago masks were imperative. Makes me distrust the CDC and government. You can’t say common folk shouldn’t wear them cause they don’t work but yet in the same breath say the medical staff needs them because they work. The lack of a clear direction on this and basically giving us bad advice from the beginning has frustrated me to no end.

If you're just starting to distrust them, you haven't been paying attention.

It's unclear just how much a mask will prevent a healthy people from becoming infected, vs preventing those who are already infected from spreading it, but it is pretty dang clear from the numbers in Asia that everyone wearing them when they're out in public suppresses transmission.

The other thing that helps a lot is fastidious hand washing. Assume everyone is infected, and that everything outside your home that's likely to have been touched by by someone else is contaminated.

I operate on the premise that I along with just about everyone else will eventually get it barring a vaccine in the next 12 months. The only thing that concerns me is that I am diabetic and asthmatic and respiratory illnesses already make me very ill so I wonder if it will kill me. Im holding out for that vaccine.

I'm sure we all agree that we hope that doesn't happen. I'm sure you'll be okay.

I went to get groceries yesterday and wore a mask and gloves, only a few people wore them unfortunately. But since people can be carriers with no symptoms, wear a mask & gloves for your own protection. I followed the clean your groceries and decontaminate protocol. Exhausting but worth it. Shoes worn to store outside to decontaminate for 5 days. What a PITA, but worth it. Yes follow your own protection needs. CDC and WHO have majority dropped the ball.

Yeah, hardly anyone around here wearing masks and gloves either. Maybe part of it is that there's no way of getting masks. I had a small number left over from work, spray them with alcohol after each use.

I read an article about gloves the other day. Some kind of medical person analysed a shopping trip and looked at each point in the process. How bugs could get on the gloves, and from there onto you, or your bags and keys and steering wheel and so forth. And then did the same analysis with not using gloves. They came to the conclusion that it was actually safer not to use them and just use a lot of hand sanitizer. If you are lucky enough to have lots of hand sanitizer.

You can bet the politicians making decisions about the production effort have more gear than they could ever use and daily tests and access to fully stocked hospitals.

If you wear gloves you have to disinfect them on the outside then remove them then disinfect your hands. There is a reason hospital staff use gloves. Gloves help keep your hands clean and help from the virus getting under your nails. I think the reason people are discouraging glove use is the same as mask use, they want the medical staff to have them. I always keep gloves on hand and hubby had a couple N95's on hand from painting needs. I spray the N95 with alcohol and hang it in the sun for a day or two. I wear one of my homemade masks over it and wash it after use. In my opinion everyone should be using masks and gloves but learn how to disinfect everything too. You can even use the yellow cleaning gloves and disinfect them after each use inside and out.

I grabbed several sanitizer wipes as we left the store, after groceries were in the trunk and cart returned, hubby and I cleaned our gloves with the wipes before getting in the car. Cleaned gloves then removed and put in a sealed baggie, hands sanitized then steering wheel then keys.

Here is a link that has some good info on possible reuse of N95 and surgical masks. I've been doing a lot of research related to re use of PPE. I'm going to try the oven method (when I have enough masks to do so) for up to 3 uses. I hope this helps you. Leaving Facebook

I have always maintained a low profile personally especially on public forums. I will just say this that may give a slight insight into the differences we see in the way things have been handled publically. I have never agreed with the way it is but here goes. I worked for 36 years in one of the hosp located in Bethesda Maryland. Medical doctors and research doctors are worlds apart in how they conduct themselves. Research drs put their research first ahead of the patients while we all know that medical drs always put people first in all they do.. That is where the divide is originating from. In the real world we need both. But i dont agree with putting a research dr in charge of leading the public right now. Dr Fauci is a research dr. Does not mean he is wrong but that i believe a medical dr should be first and in front of the camera. Also the cdc is research.
This is Just 1 persons opinion. Pls dont shoot the messenger and if you dont agree thats fine i just dont need to hear about it. This post is not meant to start a debate.

I actually carry a few Sanitize wipes in the car that I got from a friend at the Dentist office (that I visted approximately 3 weeks ago in Miami) - which they use to wipe down "chairs" etc. . . . Also have a box of Surgical "Gloves" & "Mask" too (not many, but a few) - to use when and as NEEDED . . . Matter of fact, if the store has Sanitize wipes available (I save what I have), I always take a couple to wipe down chart (even if they have already done it) and carry them with "Me" as I go shopping, so I can wipe down the item/s as I pick it up to put in the chart and then once again when I pack the item (in the bags I brought) as I get them from the cashier . . . Use the same ones to wipe down the steering wheel, car keys, etc. . . . AND - Then to beat a dead horse, when I get back as I unpack everything I wipe the item down again before I put it away . . . In addition, when I get back, I also take the money out of "My" pocket lay it out and spray with disinfectant as I do with the shopping bags I brought with "Me" . . . Yes - It might be a little over kill - but I am making sure I am "Staying Safe" , especially since I check all the boxes (Heart Disease, Diabetic, COPD, Asthma, over 65) . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Fwiw.. Chlorine tablets for swimming pools (the small 1in or less) are useful as a decon tool.....BUT only use a fraction of 1 in a toilet as they are so strong it will eat plastic plumbing lines.

Now'ish would be a good time to focus on pork & rice products.. Datasets chasing oil- we have too much oil and more people not driving... But pork is cheap!!! & rice is about to break out..

So, my vet sent a notice that it is time for yearly exam and vaccinations. I am not sure what to do. Thoughts anyone? Sorry to be off topic.

ETA: I am going to wait.
My cats went to the vet last week. A tech came out to my car and got them. I waited in my car and did a phone call with the vet. Call your vet and see how they are handling this all. But personally if they arent sick I wouldnt take them.

Just curious as to where you ordered online from? I have a couple online orders with Walmart but am wondering if I'm going to get them.
