    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I just got done decanting the rest of my nic, all of which was from Heartlandvapes.

The nic was bought from and labeled by HV in the the following months:

    Dec 2019
    Feb 2020
    May 2020

The Dec 2019 nic was pretty much clear. I could not detect any yellowing but I did not look very hard because it is what it is at this point. I was decanting using a white funnel so I wnt by the color I saw against the funnel as I poured.

The rest were very obviously not completely clear.

All of my nic was put in the freezer immediately upon arrival from UPS with the plastic bag they ship in except for the Nov 2019 nic decanted in April, which was left in my garage for about 2 weeks (yet the HV House November nic ended up being pretty damn clear - 2nd place to the Dec nic).

The yellowish hue from all but the Dec 2019 nic I decanted today was about he same as the Nicselect in the pic below which I posted about 3 weeks ago when I decanted my first small batch.

So my November & December HV house brand were my best in terms of clarity, with December being THE best. Sorry, I had no time to take pics.

In short, about half my nic looks like the last bottle in the pic and the other half was mostly like the Nic Select bottle in the pic. I bought about half my stash in December 2019 because they had the most sales in that month, so I'm glad I did.

I'm not really complaining, just reporting.

I would also like to note that the quantity of nic in the bottles varies greatly. Very inconsistent. But given that my average price per liter was only around $35, I'm not complaining, just reporting.

I finally got around to ordering another sxk Haku riviera rdta clone from fasttech. The one I use on the pulse x has been running great, the new one will be for lemon cream on the Alchemists. I used 10 Rewards points, it ended up under $9 [emoji106]

On the $ front we did a rebalance a while back. I'm a bear, believe covid19 combined with other things are going to keep it rocky, more downside than up. Hoping I'm wrong...

If I can financially swing it before nic becomes hard to get, I think I'm going to order a few CNT nic liters from Heartland to diversify my stash and also to see it's color.

In the past 5 months I have ordered some bulk eliquid from them since they started using CNT and my peppermint eliquid came with barely any yellowing and never seems to get any darker. You can barely see the yellow tint. The taste is the same, but it just never gets yellower. Whereas when they made it with the house brand nic, it always arrived very noticeably yellow and would start getting darker within a week and would keep doing it for a month or 2 until it reached it's peak, ripeness :D. In fact, with the CNT nic no steeping was required whereas with the house nic I would have to let it sit for at least 3 weeks before it would taste like I wanted it to.

The Nic Select bottle doesn't look great, but it doesn't look awful either. How's it smell?

There's also a weird color balance going on in that picture, as though you had two light sources of different colors?

I can't remember about the light sources. I may have had 2 different lights on it. I do know that flash made all of them look crystal clear lol. So I nixed the flash. But the colors you see are very much what I see with my naked eye.

ETA: The one on the right looks clear, but you can see toward the top where the fill line is a bit yellow. It's not completely clear as my camera/lighting shows it.

The nic select smells like all the rest. A musty kind of ashtray kinda smell. I used to call it a wet dog smell, but my new description captures it better. I smell that smell when I vape in high humidity so it didn't strike me as odd. That and the fact that I have read others say nic base can smell like that.

I'm not worried about the smell or the color though. But I do wish I had the money to buy some CNT to compare it to - very curious. I can't go solely by what others say because smell, like taste, is waaaaaaaaaaay too subjective.

I did make a very small batch of peppermint juice more than a while ago using the nic select (that was only a 120ml bottle) and it tasted fine once I figured out how little peppermint to put in it lol It did not taste like it smells.

Well I'm glad to know that you all don't think that my coil is as gross as I did. I use pre-made coils and have just never gone that long. Also never vaped so infrequently off an in use mod either.

TFV12 coils are taking their sweet time but they landed state side.

As long as it doesn't have a fishy smell [emoji6]

FWIW, I recently unpacked and repacked a sealed box from my freezer that contains my rebottled nic. I can't see any tint change in those. I used clear glass 100ml Boston Rounds bottles so that I could check clarity and color from time to time without pouring into a clear bottle. Light isn't an issue since I wrapped them in paper towels inside zip lock bags in a cardboard box sealed with packing tape.

So far, so good. It's been over a year since I rebottled my 3 liters of nic upon receipt from the vendor. Each liter will last me 9 years at 3mg mix strength. The nic will probably outlive me.

Wow! Even Kanger wholesale is sold out. They've been very reliable for a long time. It would be worthwhile to check back with their site periodically.

My experience has been that they ship fast. I think they are in Florida. You have to create an account to see the prices and order.

Yeah, I was gonna buy some the other day and noticed they were out. But I believe they will be getting more. Kanger is still making these and many of their other coils even though they don't seem to be making any new products anymore. I think Kanger has become a strictly OEM/ODM manufacturer and only make popular older stuff under their name.

Yes they had 250 of the 1.2s in stock along with many of the others and then one day they were all suddenly wiped out. About a week later they got 50 boxes of the .5s, and those were also quickly and suddenly out of stock. Not sure what's going on.

I have a feeling that they make their money on the replacement coils. Sell a tank cheap and then sell coils at premium prices for years to come.

Kinda like printers and Ink cartridges. I just had to buy more HP printer cartridges. Sheesh it's like selling drugs.

Anyone know where I could grab a bunch of Kanger occ 0.5 coils? Dad's friend he helps is looking and everywhere that I stocked up on them from is sold out. Thanks.

That's the dilemma of stocking up. Someone is going to need what you have.

A co-worker hit me up because he was out of eliquid and the shops were closed due to covid. He needed a week's supply till his order came in and knew that I DIY. He insisted on paying well, but still, that's not why we stock up....
