Tried to order some things from MFS (empty pods, coils)- was DENIED the coils

Following product(s) are not allowed to be shipped to New York:
1. Oxva Origin AIO Mesh coils 0.5ohm - 5-Pack

I thought it was just a flavor, probably NIC ban !$@%$!#@!

BUT Element Vape WILL ship to NY.

stuck in a squishy pod called my brain
For a while, anyway. When the Covid thing gets covered by vaccinations in the next year and the imminent crisis starts to fade they will start looking for productivity where it lies and vaping is probably high on the to-do list again at that point.
Nearly every city/town is broke now.. Vapers just need to word their Twitter appeals to politicians for the tax golden goose they kicked. Make them believe you want to dismantle the FDA.

I haven't heard of those bills making much progress, but then hardly anything has that isn't related to virus panic.
The bill taxing nic out of reach to consumers passed the House & wasn't taken up in the Senate. Every House (D) voted for it and every (R) against. i've no desire to get into political opinions; that's just the fact. Which means that if (D)s gain enough seats in the Senate and win the White House next election, some form of enormous tax on nic is likely.
Personally, i'm stocking up now.

Mooch believes LGs and Samsung batts are going to be harder to find due to them now starting to print on their batteries "not for vaping". This means vape shops may stop selling them.
In fact, most of the battery stores I bookmarked from Mooch's list don't even sell LG anymore and had LG battery clearance sales a few months ago.
Molicel is the last holdout for vapers, but it's my opinion they will be forced by their legal team to shun vapers at some point.

BTW: In case anyone is interested. I recently decided o stop using my older 18650s which were 3+ years old when I found a stash of 4 Samsung 25R batts (2 blues and 2 green). The blue ones are over 4 years old and the greens are about 2 years old or so.
They were all stored the way I got them, between 3.5 and 3.6v.
All for seem to perform (and last as long) as as they should at my low vaping style, just like brand new. At least in a regulated mod.
I didn't check their internal resistance as I have no means to do so. I also wouldn't have an IR value (from when they were first purchased) to compare the current IR to even if I knew how to check IR lol
I didn't store them in any special environment. They were just in a box in a 2nd floor room that never gets air conditioned (room can get over 90F).

I am starting to come to the same conclusion; that unused batteries don't lose much capacity in storage. However, I am still gathering data, including storage at different temperatures.
Very interesting. Thank you. i was just thinking yesterday that the batteries we use might somehow be deemed a tobacco product by the FDA or otherwise become nearly impossible to get, and lamenting that it was pointless to stock up on batteries as on nic and hardware because they'd just be dead after sitting unused for some years anyway.

Now it seems that may not be the case...???

Is it time for a large order with 18650batterystore.com???

As long as i'm asking newbie questions about stocking up...

i know (thanks to the good folks here) that nic base is to be stored long-term frozen in glass.
How about vg & pg & flavorings?

I know neither vg nor pg freeze completely. Can they be stored long-term in the plastic bottles they come in, unopened, in a closet or garage for years and years?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Most of us store them in room temp. If you have large quantities, you may consider rebottling them into glass, but I don't bother. They don't really go bad--in my experience. I don't stock up on those. They are cheap and I'm pretty sure that they will be available--people use them for food flavoring. Labeling may change--if that happens, just look for those that don't contain any oils or colorings.

Don't know about years and years, but again, they will be available, there are other non-vape related uses for them. I keep mine in a dark closet, never had them go bad.

My state props up marijuana dispensaries as essential business (even though they sell fruit and candy flavored THC liquids, candy, brownies, chips and everything else that appeals to children) but they go after vaping and constantly try to ban flavored nic eliquids. I even wrote to them about it--never heard back.

I posted in the Bargain Bin thread this AM about EjuiceSteals 15% Sale for Father's Day, but in case you don't browse that thread....the code is HAPPY FATHER (with the 2 words spaced as written, not together).

Of particular interest to some might be the following, which will be $35.69 after the 15% off. Has the Cerberus tank in the kit.

GeekVape Aegis Solo 100W Vape Starter Kit

They also have some LinCig Hypnos pod starter kits in Hardware Clearance for just $.99/kit and $.50/pack of 2 replacement pods. Each will be 15% off of those dirt cheap prices, too. I now have a nice-sized stash of both the starter kits and packs of pods after buying just 3 at first, for myself and a friend. We both really liked them when they were $1.99/kit. At just $.99/kit...it was a no brainer for us to get quite a few more and more packs of pods! If you've ever wanted to try a pod set-up, but didn't want to put out a bunch of money in case you didn't like it...I'd jump on a couple of these! At their price (kits + pod packs), they're great for friends and family who might want to also try vaping.

I'm pretty confident that if it's properly stored (in glass, in a freezer), nic will be good indefinitely.

I'm less confident that the same is true of batteries. In the early days of of Li-ion batteries, the conventional wisdom was that they would lose as much as 10-15% of their capacity per year, even if they were unused, in storage. Perhaps this was true of early chemistries, but I'm not seeing that with current cells. Unfortunately there's little hard data to be had, and certainly not enough to be able to say they'll still be at X% if stored for a decade or two.

PG and VG are pretty stable molecules. I bought a substantial amount of PG and VG several years ago. I re-bottled it in 32-oz glass bottles and keep them a closet. I'm still using them and will keep using them until I notice something "off", which hasn't happened yet.

I'm not keen on using plastic for long-term storage for two reasons: 1) It is somewhat permeable to oxygen and glass isn't. 2) I don't know what will leech out of it. Glass doesn't leech anything.

As for flavorings, it's impossible to make a blanket statement because we really don't know what the flavorings themselves consist of. The safest bet with them is probably your fridge.

Thank you!!!
You're welcome.

I see I forgot something in the above ramblings. I suppose it goes without saying: Flavorings you're keeping for the long term should also be in glass, not plastic. Some of the flavoring companies advise this too.

@Mooch has a really informative YouTube channel that I subscribe to in which he gives tutorials with his valued answers/ projections/suggestions to a lot if not most of the topics brought up in this thread regarding batteries.

As a vaper the top most priority for me is battery safety and the state of the battery industry now and what he and others predict it will be in the future is paramount.

His work for the community should be commented on more especially to newer vapers in my opinion.

plus he’s a pretty cool guy lol!!

Thanks for the response. So, the short answer is we don't really know, it seems.

Personally, I don't think the FDA cares about DIY'ers all that much, as we're less than 5 percent of vapers, but I could be wrong.
There were some crazy high nicotine tax laws kicking around in Congress (multiple K$ per liter of 100mg) late last year. Coronavirus, the economic crisis,... have put that on the back burner, but I wouldn't be surprised for it to pop up again.

You're welcome. :)

If I were you, I'd call them tomorrow, about having but forgetting to use the code. They'll be open at 9AM Pacific time. A new, really nice & helpful customer service rep. named Jane...should answer the phone. I'll bet if you explain to her what happened she'll help you. Not sure if they'd issue a refund...or would issue a credit to your account. I saw something last week on their website about not giving refunds any more, but giving credits instead. IMO, $8 possibly saved is worth a try anyway!

You scared the living daylights out of me, so I Googled my beloved chocolate LGs:

    LG HG2 3000mAh 20A 18650 Battery - lgdbhg21865 - High Capacity and Power

    LG HG2 Battery | INR 18650 – 20A High Discharge

18650 LG INR18650HG2 3000mAh High Discharge Flat Top (backordered)

    and Samsung, ditto:

Samsung 18650 Batteries - IMR Rechargeable Lithium Ion - 18650 Battery Store

Plenty of LGs and Samsungs (which is what I use)... Whew!

The online battery vendors will probably have them in stock for quite a while because most can say they “don’t sell to vapers” since they have all the warnings on their web pages. It’s the vape shops that, IMO, will stop selling them eventually as their liability is huge if they sell a battery that says it must not be used for vaping and there is an accident.
