Hey...watch out now...there are still lots of us who use coils that are 1.2ohms and/or higher. :D
Every now and then I build up that high, but I've been building so long my coils generally run right around 1 ohm.

I don't mind higher ohm builds at all since I'm a MTL vaper, it's just I use SS430 and it takes about 9 or 10 (or more) wraps to get to 1.2 ohm then the coil is too wide for the atomizer.

For me getting comfortable with mechanical mods, and protected bypass mods, was key (protected bypass mods, like the ehpro armor prime, provide low ohms and short circuit/reverse battery/low voltage protection, but do not have screens or advanced regulated mod functionality - they just pass through the battery voltage with some safety guardrails).

I've got a bunch of mech squonkers which also play fine with normal RTA and tanks (as long as you use coils that work well in the 4.2 - 3.7v zone), some protected bypass and mech tube mods, and then some fully regulated mods (including squonkers - love my pulse 80/X/V2).

I finally got around to posting a classy for my kanger tanks and boatload of 0.5 ohm Clapton OCC heads. Probably time to do a few more classifieds. (No sweat for me if they don't sell.)

Not very useable since I believe the lowest it will fire is 1.2 ohm if not higher.

I'll use it. :D For the past 3 days I've been vaping 1.6 and 2.0 ohm coils on 510 esmarts and eGo batteries.

Last week I was vaping 1.5-1.8 ohm on a first generation Zmax.

With today's better clearomizer coils with cotton wicks, you can get a nice cloud with some decent throat hit and some noticeable (but not great) flavor, unlike back in the day with those nasty silica wicks. :-x

I hope this is a myth, but not much we can do. I do have some REALLY old LED mods and some mechs, so it's not 100% scary to me if true.

I have only one mod so far that has a deteriorating screen which is a Pico 75W. It doesn't have completely dead pixels but it has quite a few dim pixels. I'd say at least 30% are dim. When I realized it about 2 months ago I opened it up to see if there was maybe juice inside on the board. I had the whole thing apart, dry as a bone and clean.
Glad
So I guess it's just old. But I have mods that are years older than the Pico 75W that have no sign of screen dimming or dead pixels. Did I drop the Pico? Probably. :D

The deteriorating 510 positive pin insulators are definitely a big deal. I've had several go bad on me both on mods and tanks.
This is why I save all my coil heads. They have many parts that can be used to fix other things, including rubber gaskets, o-rings and insulators.
So you can use 510 RTAs on Squonkers?
What coils do I need for natalus mini & Zlider tanks Where do ibget them at a gd price. I prefer 1.8 1.6 ohm

Just looked it up, it's minimum is 1.5 ohm. I still remember rebuilding protank coils with a needle as the mandrel and using 32g kanthal to get the ohms high enough to work.

My mom strictly vapes ce4's on a vision spinner, I recently ordered her 5 spinners which will likely last the rest of her life no more than she vapes. I think a single charge last her a week.

Any tank that has a 510 connection can be used on any mod/device (including squonkers) that has a 510 connection. 99.99% of mods and tanks are 510 today and have been for many years (with the exception of pod devices of course).

The only thing you have to worry about on REGULATED mods is if you are using a mod from, say 2015-ish or earlier, it may have a limit on how low a coil resistance it will fire. Fir instance, when the sub ohm tank/30W box mods started becoming all the rage, those 30W mods would only go down to 0.5 ohms. Many mods before 2015-ish may not even go below 1 ohm or 0.9 ohms.

Regulated mods from 2016-ish and up tend to have a cap at around 3-4 ohms but will go down to 0.05 ohms or lower in TC mode or 0.1 in wattage mode, so no real issue there for most moderate to high ohm vapers.

I have no idea where the best deal nautilus or Zlide coils is.

Daaaang, what resistance does she vape at? 1 week between charges on an eGo is a long time for an eGo.

Whatever old school ce4's are, maybe 2 ohm. She doesn't vape much, doesn't even use nicotine any longer. She insists it keeps her from smoking which she did for nearly 50 years, so I'm all for it and try to make sure she has everything she needs.

*edit*
CE4 is 2.6-2.8 ohm

How many regulated mods does it take for most of you to be comfortable? My wife and I don't seem to have great luck with them - either the screen dies or it stops reading the coil. I even had a solo stop reading the coil after 4 months and the 510 was clean and the pin was not stuck down. We are not clumsy and rarely drop them. Right now we have about 12 each.

    92 and counting

I don’t use those tanks but I hope someone here can help you find the coils since you just started stocking. If not, I’ll start googling. Maybe ask in the Random DIY thread. I think some of them use them.

One additional clarification about squonk mods...you don’t have to use it to squonk. You can put a regular rta/rda without a 510 squonk pin and use it as a non-squonk mod. It is in squonk mode with a 510 squonk pin that has a hole for the ejuice to be squonked into the atomizer.

Ignore everything I just said if you already knew that.

I just said squonk an awful lot.

Depends on the mod. I still have Kbox minis from the first set that went on the market in the US that work beautifully. I have Provaris that are pushing 8 years old.

My REOs are nearly indestructible but being mechs would not be difficult to fix. So lifespan? who knows probably longer than mine.

    I worry more about attys.

Indeed, I have a VAMO v3 which as far as I know was the first mod to use OLED and it still functions.

Not very useable since I believe the lowest it will fire is 1.2 ohm if not higher.

I have run 1.2s on my vamo but I think that is the bottom. Mine is still running too but I can only use it in 18650 as one of the extender tubes is stuck. LOL

I believe these are the nautilus coils you want in different ohms. I don’t know if these are the cheapest though.

Aspire Nautilus, Nautilus 2, Nautilus 2S BVC Coils - 5 Pack

Another well-known vendor (use code NEWMFS15 for 15% off first order)

Aspire Nautilus / Nautilus Mini BVC Replacement Heads (5pk)

And here are the Zlide coils, although this place does not have your resistance but at least it gives you an idea of what they look like.

Innokin Zenith Plexus Z Replacement Coils

Are you being serious? I have mod envy if so.

Yes but some are old and I hope I never need to use them. I have been vaping for 11 years and also have won some and got some from doing reviews.

You definitely don't want to know how many mods, and kits with mods, that I have in my stash then.

I was just going to say that I’m sure it’s not as many as JC has. However, the 92 doesn’t include the few mechs I have and a bunch of pod and pod mods.

Ooh ooh I do I do! :) How many mods DO you have JC? I'm gonna guess 150.
