Out of the 5 mods that I still have, only one is a paper weight. It's only about 2 years old and still used regularly. I do have two that have transformed into paperweights, but they're sentimental and I keep them even though I can't use them any more.
Here's a RIP pic of the two paperweights.

I'm curious. What's wrong with that Pico exactly.

My oldest Pico is about 5 or 6 years old and it's still kicking but the screen has dimmed and the battery cap threads (on the mod, not the cap) are stripped but only near the top so it still caches a few threads at the bottom. That's my most heavily used mod without a doubt. Picos of various models are about 75% of my mod stash.

I just remembered that I have 2 Itaste MVP 20W mods somewhere. Sealed in box. About as old as the Isticks. I need to find them to check them out. Just for curiosity, though. I don't care about them that much, too heavy and large and just all-around a bad vaping experience compared to others of it's time and certainly the newer stuff.

I do have one used I just found in an old backpack. It was still holding a 3.8v charge and it charged to 4v (so I guess not 100% full). I used it mostly as a battery bank to charge my flip phone than for vaping lol.

That's a good reminder for all of us to go through our stockpile and prioritize the built ins and pod devices while they're still viable. I thought we'd go through them faster than we have. Having gotten most on deep clearance, at least the dead ones aren't a big loss. I guess it's time to check the oldest ones - ego batteries from 2015!

I was refilling whatever RTA was on it at the time, and got called away and forgot to close the fill ports. I forgot about for a bit over an hour and the e-liq leaked out and flooded the guts of the mod. I took it apart and used CRC electronic cleaner to try to get it working again. Sadly I did not.

Have you tried throwing it against the wall? It's scientifically proven to work 20% of the time for unknown reasons. :D

I found the two MVP 20W mods. Both are alive with a charge. One's at 3.9v and other other 3.8v.
I had a bunch of ancient Spinners that had been sitting in a box for years. They charged up but went dead really fast. Not sure what type of batteries they have but I would be nervous using really old batteries like that. I dropped my Spinners in the battery box at Lowes, I doubt they get recycled though.

I charged them up. One stopped at 4.2v and the other at 4.1v. The 4.2v one I'm using to charge a very small bluetooth speaker. So far the speaker's gone from 30% charge to 60% charge and the MVP has only lost 0.3v. I think that's good...I think.

I'm vaping the other one. So far after 82 puffs it's gone from 4.1v to 4v so I'm thinking is pretty good. Surprising. Gonna discharge both to 3.8v or so and put them away. I hate the button placement and stiffness.

I know what you mean about the old egos. I have 5 Itaste VV4M egos but they just won't hold a charge for long either while vaping or sitting at standby. They also get rather warm when I try to charge them. Not good. But I replaced them with Smok Zmax Minis in 18350 config and I like them much better. I can hold them and vape them like smoking a cigar the way the button protrudes and it's easy to push so it's almost like not pushing a button. Of course, there's a bit of RMS rattlesnake under 10W, but I'm OK with it. They last a long time with Epoch 18350 batts.

Can't really fault the mod, then.

That was my thinking as well when I established the stockpile. I ended up ordering a Vaporesso Tarot Baby when Eightvape was blowing them out for about $10, just to reach the free shipping threshold. It quickly became my favorite mod, so I picked up a few in 2019. I also picked up a few
Vaporesso Auroras to get the same chipset in a replaceable battery version with a fire bar, but the Tarot Baby is ideal for me. My wife uses Justfog Minifits at work, so between us it's been built ins for about four years while the stockpile awaits. I expect we'll enjoy another few years out of those types of vapes. ProVaris are of course still in use at home daily.:)
I love the Tarot Baby but the nano is my fav. Using 3 of them currently.

Nic seems to be double what it was when I stocked up years ago. I probably won’t even get through all that I got. I’m titrating down. Turns out nicotine may not be the really powerful anti-anxiety drug I thought it was. I didn’t bother stocking up on wire because I use SS anyway and it’s not like it’s vape specific. Also ignored cotton, batteries, and flavoring for the same reason. I’ve even got an old school mech if it gets really bad.

I am mildly surprised the FDA hasn't shut that down.

Not that I need any. I'm still on nic I bought in 2014, but next year, I'll probably have to start on some I bought in 2015. :)

I’m not sure if they are tarot baby or nano but am pretty sure I have a couple in storage if someone is looking for some.
Let me know colors, I might be interested if I don't already have the colors.

Those MVPs are pretty healthy so I guess there's some hope for integrated batt mods in storage. If I had a lot of integrated batt mods I would keep them all in one box and check on them every couple years at least, and charge them a bit if needed.

I'm going to open that dead Istick soon to see if the battery is bloated because I've seen istick battery replacement vids where that was the case.

I’m not sure they can. It’s a critical herbicide and the only thing that can stop certain insects. If they stop it there will just be synthetic equivalents. The stuff is cheap to produce like all organic chemicals.

Those need to be recycled. Not thrown away. Recycled. There’s a 14500 on them. Lots of places do it. Any Target for one iirc. Also all fire departments. Imho any store that sells any kind of rechargable battery powered device should be required to do it. It may already be the case. I don’t know.

There are certainly neonicotinoid pesticides, but somehow I don't think that USP grade nic in PG or VG is critical to agriculture.

The wrong place I think. That was not the thing I remember replying to. The person in question had a bunch of old dying or dead egos. Egos have 14500s in them that contain lithium. As such they are potentially explosive even when “discharged” as lithium batteries never completely discharge lest they stop being rechargable. Theyre hazardous waste.
