I ran mine about 6 times through an ultrasonic cleaner, soak it in just-boiled water with dawn, took a toothbrush to every part, soaked it in alcohol for hours TWICE, and it still has a slight hint of machine oil taste. It's such a PITA, but I think I MOSTLY got it out. Like I said, just a slight hint of it.

pick up something called Simple Green

dilute it and put it in the ultrasonic after you've completely broken down the device/atty. after you give it a good 15-20 minutes, just rinse it very well with water or bath with dawn.

no more oil

I just washed mine once with dish washing liquid and it was clean and odor free. It seems like the ones that are having problems with machine oil taste might not have cleaned the air channels well enough. Did you guys take out the air screw?

I dismantled mine but for the o rings and insulators and did 4 long soaks and scrubbed it out good with a toothbrush and pipe cleaners. It still tasted awful. I took off all o rings and insulators yesterday and boiled it. No more oil, but jc isn't working right and need to replace at least some o rings. I will get it up and running right. I'm using it, but its goofy.

Looking at EHPro...any opinions?

I also nicked a few o rings while pulling them out. Hopefully they'll still work fine when I use them. If not I'll pull out the bag of extras.

Anyone know where I can buy 2-3 extras of all o-rings needed?

Get the sizes from the diagrams and check your local hardware store. I know Ace hardware stores sell orings.

I think I have some of that under my sink. Would any all-purpose cleaner work? I think I have some 409 or something. What is your water to cleaner ration?

my ratios are kind of random. it really depends how long I can afford to wait, and how much rinsing after it's clean do I want to do

all purpose cleaners would work, but you're trying to really break down the oils from the machining process. boiling water, alcohol, vinegar, etc, isn't always capable of breaking down the oils. I've had tremendous luck with that simple green stuff. it's supposed to be all-natural as well so it comes out fairly easy as well

if I were to guess at the dilution, maybe 1 : 10 parts, +/-

Got my Tobeco K4 this week. toothbrush scrub with Joy+hot water cleaned mine up fine. Make sure you pull the airflow control screw and clean out the air tube.

Anyway vapin a 1ohm around 17-18 watts and its working great, flow control works perfect, no leaks, no wick issues as long as i don't over fill. Love how easy it is to top off with juice. For 30$ this thing is awesome. Build quality and threading on mine is top notch as well. I will say I don't think the flavor is quite as good as my Russian but very close, wicking is diffidently better though. I'm probably gonna have to pick up another and maybe the OG when i win the lottery :O. I don't really get on these forums much anymore but had to jump in and give my 2c.

Just received my Tobeco clone. I didn't have any machine oil issues, just a simple boiling water + dish washing soap soak worked to clean it. Unfortunately I'm not very impressed, one out of the 4 air holes on the sides isn't drilled through. In other words I'm operating with 3 air holes instead of 4.

I'm having serious issues keeping the wicks wet as well and am getting serious dry hits even at 11 watts with a 1.4 ohm coil. I have the wicks just above the juice holes on the deck and so they aren't blocked. The other issue I'm facing is serious fluctuations in ohms, some times it will read 1.5 and other times it'll go to 1.8.
