I just had to give a big Shout Out to Vapdivrr and a big thank you! After watching your wicking video 3 times I have my KF Prime working like a beast! I'm using it on SS TC and wow, I just can't believe the flavour I'm getting now, specially with SS and proper wicking it's just the most awesome tank. It's also my first rta so nothing to compare with, but I do have a berserker and Dvarw on the way lol

Again Thank you so much for that great Prime build video Sir :)
I really appreciate it . Even a step by step video is hit or miss tbh and just glad it worked out for you. Its 95 percent about the wicking and unless you actually feel the piece in person, it's hard to convey it without a hands on encounter. Even the lenght of wick is very important and even explaining it is very hard because of the heights of individual coils. Videos do get you in the ballpark, but practice and time are crucial, especially in certain rtas like the prime. It is a kind of picky tank but it pays off big time once you get it correct and I'm so very glad you were able to get it! Also every rta is different, and what kind of works in one, might not in another and although the amount of wicking material thru the coil should be the same(providing the coil diameters are the same) the wick tail placement, bulk and tail lenghts will vary a lot. Btw, the darvw is another fantastic rta, it's not built and machined as good as the prime , and doesn't provide the ease of airflow control or juice control, but the vape is very very good. I have a few and love the 2ml versions for obviously flavor and vapor, but also because of the incredible small size . Enjoy it all my friend

Yes the wicking was the hardest to get just right for me, I was always getting a lot of popping, it would settle down a bit after awhile, but would still pop. Then I finally realized my cotton was a bit too loose in the coil and I wasn't thinning out the tails enough. When I added a bit more cotton into the coil (2.5m ID) and took more off either side of the wicks and had just the right length, Boom it was wonderful! no leaks, no gurgle, no popping, just this wonderful flavour, my juices have come alive!

FYI: I did a 11 wrap 28G SS micro coil, came out at 1.2ohms, vaping @ 25W / 405F and it's spot on right now, wish I had replay haha. One thing is my korma A mod only goes as low as 25 watts other wise I'd like to try it a little lower.

I'm considering the LV mirage mod for the KF, anyone have any thoughts on this mod?

Cheers

Not familiar with those mods unfortunately, but seems weird that a modern doesn't go below 25 watts...is that a Tc thing or will it also not go below 25 in power mode? Is something like the jack vapour mod appealing to you? If so, it's a real nice mod

yeah only in TC it's 25 to 75 increments of 5, but in Watts it goes down to 6W.

I've also been looking at the jack Vapor as well, looks like a sweet mod, but I'm kinda interested in replay which I believe is only on the dna75C and JV is not the C as of yet anyways.

I instinctively gave you a "like" for ingenuity but regret it now. It's like a funeral director wearing white socks or writing a begging letter to your bank manager using colo(u)red crayons. Infra dignitatem comes to mind. (I have shares in Google.):D

Hahaha!

I’ve been a little more willing to explore gear since Provape closed their doors.

That’s what brought me to find this pod adapter.

It’s ugly, goofy, but damn...it DOES work.

And I don’t have to worry about some lack-luster battery powering a pod. Also helps to have a Provape brain in the mix as well.

The JUUL is a guilty pleasure, and works fairly well...

But, as with all things “vape”...the pods taste better on a Provari!!!

If you like the af on the prime, just stick with it. You won't find better flavor on the others imo. If you prefer more af, then perhaps stick with the v5's. I also agree that I don't find anymore gunking with the prime then the others, but I definitely rewick less the 2 weeks. I probably get between 10 to 15mls on a rewick and that's with net tobacco's, but very clean nets.

Perhaps I waited to long to attempt a re-wick. I'll try more often next time.

Where can I find your video on wicking? Thanks.

I know this depends on a lot of variables and some may not even know precisely, but how many MLS are you usually getting between rewicks and do any have a break - in period before flavor is optimum? Because I vape like 7 or more rtas each day and only 2 are primes, I don't precisely know, but it's about 7 refills, maybe more and that's with a Net tobacco, so I estimate 15mls and with rayon, its usually maybe 4 puffs before flavor is perfect, so no real break-in period. I just don't change my rayon every so often, I change it on the first taste of funk . Now I have gotten a lot more mls out of my rayon wicks when I wicked it really tight, but they take like 2 to 3mls of break- in before I get optimum flavor, so I opt not to build it in that manner. If I wick a super tight rayon coil with a 3ml break-in period, I can get double the mls, but I don't see the point as it only takes a few minutes to rewick....

Diver, I get about 10mls of Dragon's Fire out of a ... cotton wick. I stretch it to 15mls usually because I'm lazy.

I rewick mine every weekend, if they need it or not, I have 3 prime’s going at home, but use a different tank for work, I would say I refill each of them about 10-12 times a week.

I am using cotton bacon V2 for wicking.
That's a good amount of juice.

I've been rebuilding my prime about every couple days, but thats just because I'm new at it and and so excited to make coils and re-wick. Although this last build I did is so perfect I'm going to leave it in as long as I can. lol
You can leave the coil and just change the wick.

I’m using Japanese cotton and getting 20 - 30 mls of Dragon’s Fire per wick. No break-in period at all. That’s since switching to a 3 mm ID coil. On 2 mm coils I rewicked daily using rayon, so only about 4 - 5 mls of Dragon’s Fire and it tasted funky to me. I have a sensitive palate overall.

I’ve been wondering whether the ID of the coil is the biggest factor. The cotton is only beginning to darken after those 20 - 30 mls. The RTA is different and has more open airflow too. Maybe that’s a factor too.

I've heard this Dragon's fire a few times on here, please explain :)
