just watched a full disassembly video of the k5 and i think I'll stick to a less thorough cleaning for the moment.
It's stainless steel. It doesn't rust. After you rinse it just blow it off real good. That's good enough. You don't need to take the deck apart or take off any o-rings. Just the six parts (assemblies) I listed previously. Simply unscrew the entire deck off the Prime and soak/rinse that. Keep the coil on it but pull the wick out (you will dry burn and rewick when you put it back together). I wash as a matter of practice. 99.99% chance it is plenty clean when you get it from svoemesto but it never hurts to clean it. And you'll want to do a clean every 20 mls or so anyway so might as well get used to it.without letting it dry ?
I'm concerned about water getting below the o-rings and creating rust.
and i especially suspect that in the deck area, water will reach all kind of places and will take longer to dry.
anyhow,by your answer i guess i do need to wash it,so i think i'll just take everything a part and take pictures beforehand.
Hope it went well.i couldn't help myself, and for its first cleaning i had to take it all apart(o-rings too),but didn't unscrew the deck.

My thoughts...Finally got it, and have been trying it for the last couple of weeks.
Sadly, even though the draw is tighter, the vape itself is more diffuse than the KM3- seems a bit closer to the K5. It’s just not as clear, sharp, defined, flavorful and dense as the KM3, regardless of build or setting.
- LOVE the profile, much shorter, stubbier, and pocket friendly than KM3.
- LOVE building on it. Same size deck as KM3, but wire trapping is awesome, like K5.
- LOVE external AFC. Supposed to be same as K5, but this one seems to have a better, tighter, more positive fit - kind of clicks into place when you slide it back down
- LOVE the drip tip – short, wider, and more comfortable, with replaceable delryn tip, like the K5
- LOVE how incredibly smooth and quiet the draw is- can't imagine better. Better than KM3 or K5.
I don’t know if it’s due to the very slightly (I think) wider chimney, the flatter top of the chimney, the slotted opening below the coil, that there’s only one intake vent rather than 4 in the base, pulling air from around the AF ring, or what…but it seems like something must be creating more turbulence that introduces air into the vaporized juice before it hits my throat. Hard to believe that the vape is so different from a KM3, looking at what seems to be negligible differences in things that would affect the vape density. And what really seems odd to me is that no one else is mentioning this difference. Everyone on this thread seems to love Prime…that’s why I gave it time and tried so many different configurations.
So disappointed. I really thought this would work for me. I’m surprised because I thought the only issue I might have is that it wouldn’t be an open enough draw. But the draw feels great at the highest setting, and even lower. I could live with the lowest, or any of the settings if the vape was more solid. Guess I’ll have to try the Digiflavor Siren 2 or Ares…and/or the next greatest MTL tank. Meanwhile, it’s back to using my super tall, thin KM3.![]()
Yeah, I saw that, Astro. But I thought you had it pretty much fixed to your satisfaction with the vape band. You're still not satisfied with it? I mean, I know nobody spends that kind of money on a tank and expects to have to make it work right with a rubber band
I have been using the Prime solely for a while now, and like you, think the KF Mini V3 is slightly better.Yeah, I saw that, Astro. , but the vape still isn't right for you, even with that? Because after reading your comments, I tried your fix, and it didn't do it for me.
I wish I could categorize it as slight. I can't use it, and it only. Maybe with and experimental fruit or dessert vape or something, but not my daily tobacco machine.I have been using the Prime solely for a while now, and like you, think the KF Mini V3 is slightly better.
Astro, I don't know if you read one of the last posts I did on the seam thing, but out of curiousity, if you snap up your af ring, just lift it up so it's not even at the bottom, can you then put your thumb across the airhole and get the tank completely sealed?
In a way, I have to agree....although I do love the prime, if scoring it on flavor to the km3 with tobacco juices, I think the km3 does edge it out . I think it's the shortness of the chimney tube on the prime. I think TH and the feel of the vape are similar, but I do think the flavor on the km3 is a bit sharperFinally got it, and have been trying it for the last couple of weeks.

So if you notice a difference in the vape between one and the other, then maybe it's an option ( instead of the vape band) to vape it with the AF ring in the up position
After reading everything you tried about the only other trick I can suggest is to stand on your head and sing Figaro. Seriously you did about anything anyone can do. I get some popping in my Prime (a little more than I got in my KM3) but it is not annoying (but that is in the ear of the beholder).Hello! I recently got a Kayfun Prime and am running into a rather annoying issue. My coil keeps popping, rather violently. I’ve tried every reccomendation I’ve come across so far, as well as extensive experimentation. Different resistances (0.74-1.26), coil diameters (2-2.5), wire gauges (28 and 26), spaced and contact coils. I’ve done a bunch of different amounts of wicking, from way too much, not nearly enough, and lots of (what I believe to be) just right. Tight in the coil and loose. Long tails, short tails and everything in between. I’ve tightened the 510 screw multiple times. I’ve used both the philips and flathead screws. Airflow and juice flow everywhere from all the way open to almost entirely closed. Juice juice viscosities from 50/50 to 70/30. Even resorted to watching build tutorials and copying everything they were doingexactly, and still had this same problem. I’ve used the Kayfun Mini V3 without ever having this issue for quite a long time, and have been building for years. Other than this problem, it’s an absolutely amazing vaping experience, but this is really stifling it. I’m at a loss here, and it’s driving me crazy. Any help you can offer would be amazing. Thanks in advance!
When trying to prevent dry hits using a thicker wick versus a thinner wick is the best remedy. This runs contrary to what most think. This also holds true for popping. One can reduce the amount of juice running to the coil by reducing the width of the wick tail.Sounds like an easy answer, until you mention all you've tried. The only thing that I've ever done that caused popping was a wick not being tight enough in the coil. It was worst when I first started using spaced coils, before I learned how much cotton to use. Sometimes I'll get a pop when an atty has been sitting overnight, but that's it. Sorry, but other than good contact between wick & coil, and avoiding a buildup of juice on the coil, I've got nothin'. I'm sure somebody will come up with something for you.

Probably true. For me, dry hits weren't an issue, even using max VG (except occasionally forgetting to reopen JCWhen trying to prevent dry hits using a thicker wick versus a thinner wick is the best remedy.
