I had the kayfun Mini V3 but didn't buy the 5. I was a little on the fence about this atty. I had a Berserker which had good flavor but kept getting spit back and the Siren V2 was a huge bust for me. I ordered the Prime last week and it showed up on the 23rd a day after my birthday. Finally got to wick it tonight and did a nice space coil at 1.50 Ohms. So far best $119 I have spent. Don't know why so many people think the V2 Siren or Berserker are close to the Prime. It's really no contest. The Prime is the best MTL RTA I own right now. It was super easy to build and wick. Just trying to decide if I should get the entension tank right now. I lost one of the screws in the floor so already gonna order a spare kit. That little bag ripped on me a little when I opened itOnly thing I didn't like was my tank was a little loose in the packaging. The paper had a little tear and wasn't snug so it rolled around a bit.
Yup I totally agree. I’ve got the Siren 2 and Ares. Those two don’t even compare to the Prime. Night and day difference. My siren 2 and Ares are both collecting dust.
OK, But, The outer material of Ko Gen Do is different than the inner material.

Yes it seems to be thicker, like it's a pressed material. ..I do usually peel it off, I just didn't in those pics because I wanted to give a baseline of the size I use....but using that build , it's wicking just as good and not noticing any difference, probably because I trim alot of it off when trimming or once it gets wet, it reforms to a not so pressed material

I received my Prime(s) from HHV last week, and I've been vaping on it since last weekend with a 28g Kanthal, 2.5mm diameter 7/8 wraps build @ 1.45 ohms. This is the best Kayfun I've used yet for my vaping style that offers the best of the KF5 and KFMv3 combined into one tank. The air flow options are excellent for MTL (I prefer the looser 5 & 6 positions), the short distance between the coil and tip enhance the flavor, and the quality is absolutely what I've come to expect from SVM. The only thing I had to change was the drip tip since the short distance from the coil allowed it to get a bit warm, but I have extended POM threaded tip inserts from CDV that came in a set so I switched out the tip with a K5 tip and the extended insert to fix that "issue".
Very happy vaper here now with my KFMv3s, KF5s, and Primes!
Absolutely! As @HBcorpse already mentioned, just about any 510 tip will work, but I would recommend using one that has at least a 2 o-ring configuration so it fits very snug in the top cap.
Also, just as an FYI, it seems that the K5 threaded POM inserts will not work with the tip base that ships with the Prime. I tried it and it appears that the Prime tip base has a different threading, and the custom inserts I have would not work with the base that came with the Prime. I assume the treading changed just a smidgen when they retooled for the smaller air channel in the Prime drip tip, at least, that's my guess.

Just to let you all know, HHV has just a few Primes left in stock. We will try to order more, but it will be a while if we receive them - and not certain that we’ll be able to get more. SVM does very limited runs, and US distributors aren’t the highest priority.

Recently tried a spaced coil in the Prime. Always done for contact coils for years right from the beginning, but spaced appeal to me because of the lack of fuss - having to glow them and strum them to get an even glow.
Tried a very lightly spaced coil, 28 guage around a 2.25mm bit. Is it ok to hold the coil while pulling the cotton through? I find it difficult not to deform the coil without holding it with my other hand.
So far working very well. Flavour maybe very slightly improved. Hoping it might stay cleaner for longer than a contact coil.

With 28g spaced, you really do need to hold coil while pulling through. I usually hold with fingernail. Or you can try twisting the wick as you slide in. Once you get the tip thru, twist the opposite end and kind of screw wick thru, while screwing out the opposite end..once thru, try straightening everything out

When I was building single wire coils, I would build it as a contact coil, push the wick through, and then use a small flat head screw driver to space the coil wraps.
It’s easier to space the coil wraps after wicking, and you have less chance of mangling the coil.
That's a good idea.....what do you do on your second rewick? Do you re compress to a contact, then re space again ?

Well, I used to just re-wick with the coil as is, since the wire becomes more stiff after being cooked through even one tank full of juice.
But, when the Vapocalypse train started rolling, I stocked up on Kanthal...
Like...a lot.
So I’ve got enough wire to put in a fresh build every time, instead of dry burning and re-wicking...for like 50 years.
That, and I build two wire twisted coils now, so deformation during wicking is not an issue.
Good point on how the coil stiffens...I also prefer putting in a wire where you don't have to worry as much about it moving

Given up on spaced coils. Again!! Just something about them I don't like and I'm just not used to them. I read somewhere about a smaller diameter coil in the Prime, so instead of my usual 2.5mm ID, I changed to a very old school 2mm ID. Working very nicely indeed with 10 wraps 28 guage, coming out to approximately 1.4 ohms. I'm enjoying how that smaller diameter lends itself to heating the coil a bit faster.
Been using this Prime since its release in September and can honestly say it's my favourite Kayfun to date. The flavour is superb and that small, compact size and 22mm diameter is just everything I've always wanted from Svoemesto.

Once something gets in your head, about something different or something you don't like, it physically becomes real whether there is a difference or not..it's like that with me with SS wire. There's something about it I don't like, but it's probably just me and there's probably no real difference in taste. I can do a 6 wrap contact or one slightly spaced and I cannot tell the difference at all, so it's these quirky little things that with rebuildables, we can change, it's great. 2mm is small these days, but not that long ago, we were doing 1.6mm in our kayfuns

hi friends. i am newbie.i got prime a few days ago. The chimney and the deck is stuck.It is so tight. i tried freezing and using gloves. it didn't work. What can i do to open the deck and to wick coil?
