you are correct Sir... I just wanted to be able to tear down those walls that been put up my misleading teaching. I dont see how I could minister to a man of another faith if I cant answer simple questions. Hopefully if I ever find myself in a situation like that again I will be ready in season and out.

I'd also point out that one cannot be lead by the spirit 4:1 and Satan too. Especially not in the same manner of "leading".

Southern Gent again...GREAT JOB!!! Thank you so much for all the hard work and tons of typing you do for all of us here. You clarifications are very beneficial in explaining some wording and what the meaning is. Your work certainly gives me greater insight and understanding of each verse. Also the questions everyone asks also help me because they are often ones I ask my self or even just as often not considered before.

Do you have band-aids on your fingers, and do you need a new keyboard from them bleeding from all the typing you do here? LOL!!

Be well,
Kelly

Yeah but it said the "devil took Him up" I didnt really know how to explain it either. Thanks for tryin.

satan (I never capitalize his name) took the deed of earth in the garden of Eden. he bamboozled the first Adam and through sin, Adam just said, "Here......here are the keys...." Mankind fell through man, and a Man, the 2nd Adam had to take it back....legally. That was done on the Cross, and completed at the Resurrection. Jesus allowed satan to tempt Him. Yeah, He could have called the Archangel Michael and his army to come and battle, but it had to be done legally. That was the only way it would work. And I'm not so sure that satan really thought he pulled one over on Jesus. The funny thing is, I think satan lies to himself.

When Jesus rose from the grave, which had to realllllllyyyyy get satan's goat, He took back authority and not only did He take back authority, but He gives that authority to His children. You know the commercials with the jingle "I've got the power....." Well, we really do. satan tries his best to confuse us to thinking we have no power over anything. But, we do.

When I was reading these Scriptures last night, it was almost like I could hear the sarcasm just dripping in satan's voice. Did anyone else get that from Scripture or have I lost my mind.

I was re-reading the Scriptures on this site this morning and I got hit with a baseball bat! John the Baptist, the guy who ate bugs and wore an itchy camel outfit from Walmart, was the FIRST to mention and/or know about the Trinity. He already knew God the Father, and he knew the Messiah was coming, God the Son, and he said that the Messiah would baptize with the Holy Spirit. God gave that knowledge to John and he spoke it. I thought that was so cool! I asked a friend of mine who is well versed in Scripture if that made sense before I sooooo totally embarrassed myself......again......and posted this. She agreed. It was like :w00t:

Matt 4:8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

You know Jesus could of allowed this so he could walk out the the path of the sinner who are lead by the devil. People who walk in darkness before they come to the revelation of Christ Jesus. Scripture tell us the we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Scripture also tell us the Jesus was temped in everyway man can be temped. I think I am getting off topic here but do you see what I mean. Jesus was lead by the devil in a certain direction, to somewhere. People who are not saved are lead by principalities, powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this world. When Jesus allowed this to happen to Him He made away for intercession to enter into the sinners life, even the christain at times. Scripture tells us the christ makes intercession for us before the Father. Plus the most effective intercessor is one who went through a trial and finished with victory! Like Jesus did here!

I think you're right about that. :)

Yeah! He allowed it! That's the key because He could have stopped it at anytime. I'd have tripped up on the food. One Krispy Kreme donut would have done me in.

Notice though, that Jesus didn't engage satan. He quoted Scripture because there is power in the truth and it shut satan up. *(Resist the devil and he will flee.)You can't argue with truth. Oh you can try, but you're going to lose.

*I wish he had a ton of fleas!

What I find interesting is that satan also quotes Scripture to Jesus. Satan knows full well all about Scripture and knew full well that Jesus was coming. The key for me in this (and yes I could certainly hear satan's voice dripping with not only sarcasm but incredible contempt) is Jesus while tempted by satan did not really "follow" satan anywhere. He went of His own free will because it was already written in Heaven by God that He would prevail over satan's temptations. Yes, He could have given in to any of those temptations but to truly be able to forgive the sins of man, He had to go through all the experiences to understand the sins and temptations satan places before man.

Jesus knows that satan hates each and every single one of us and would like nothing better than to rip us limb from limb; so to save man from the fate satan has in store for us in hell, He needed to face satan head on, face to face and toe to toe armed with the Word and Truth of God so that He could prevail over satan. Understanding what man has to face from satan's deceptions and temptations to sin, so He could wash us clean of every single sin with His blood on the cross. If Jesus had not gone through this experience how could he even begin to know what sins we as humans face at the hands of satan, for which He was willing to giving up His life to cleans us free of them, as well as grant us forgiveness and absolution by providing the intercession for us with God the Father.

I agree that satan had to be furious when Jesus rose on the third day in fulfillment of the Scripture, even though he knew it was going to happen. After that satan must have really ramped up his campaign against us, and is furious for every single one of us who is saved by Christ and our names entered in the Book of Life. I also believe satan still continues to tempt each and every single one of us, every single minute of every single day, whether we are Saved by Christ or still wandering around in the darkness. We are armed with the Truth, the Word of God, just as Jesus was. We just need to remember that each and every day and give thanks and praise to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Those who are not need our help.

Thanks SaintCruiser,
I thought I was getting a bit wordy but I guess it came out OK. I appreciate the compliment :~) Nothing near as great as the posts Southern Gent does for us, that's for sure!

By the way that is one of the cutest dog pics I have seen in a long time. What breed is she, making an assumption since she is wearing pink, LOL!

She is a Maltese, but not mine. I wish! She's either a puppy or a very tiny one. We have 2 female Maltese and 1 mini-daschund. They are wonderful companions.....so close to being children, for sure. Mine is smaller than my husband's and even though they are Malteses, they are different in their personality. They are great, and we won't own anything else. Not that they are spoiled, mind you.:) Do you have any pets?:)

I've always had Rottweilers and each of them is as different as can be. Not only are they "my kids", they are great companions and give me a great sense of security. I have never owned another breed since I got my first one back in 1989. I have always referred to them as "The Spoiled-Rotten-Weilers", which is exactly what they are. But like I said, they have always been my kids. My father even calls them his grandkids...LOL! He has Yorkies, talk about a difference of choice in breeds!
