So, just ordered another five pack from TW. The last pack every single one of them was foul. I'm on my third atty from the new pack, the first two were foul, one of them being the most disgusting yet. The one I'm on right now has the taste (chemical, plastic, garbage), but a little mellower than the first two. I am so sick of this bull, I haven't had a good atty since December. I wrote TW about the problem about a month ago, asking them if they have had other complaints. The only response I got was "these atty are not under warranty". Think TW just lost a customer.

Thing that really blows, over the last few months I've sent five friends to TW. All of which purchased a 510 mega starter kit, and all have had the same problem and given up.

I was curious about that... now I know it's not safe to jump back into the water quite yet.

Has anyone gotten Joye 510 attys recently from a vendor that were OK? I'm still working off SLB 510 attys but I do prefer the Joyes (when they're working right).

The burning metal mesh bridge that Sun diagnosed would definitely explain the metallic taste. What I'm wondering is if these are toxic fumes it gives off or just icky tasting. I got a severe headache the night I spent a couple hours trying to rid some new bad atties of this problem (wish I'd read this thread first so I wouldn't have wasted my time!). The headache lasted until the next afternoon. I really think it was from the fumes. I can't imagine it's a good thing to be inhaling!

I ordered 3 3-pks each of 510 attys and 510 batts on Feb.12 (from Cignot.).....A couple days ago I started using the attys and every one has a terrible, burnt, chemical taste. I talked to Vickie at Cignot and basically she said that maybe 1 in a 1,000 are bad and it couldn't possibly be 9 bad attys at once....
Now I'm testing the batts...so far 4 of them don't hold a full charge and only last between 45 mins. and an hour n a half before they no longer work, tho the blue LED is still half lit.

I'm pretty well disgusted with the manufacturers at this point. And Cignot cuz they more or less denied it was an atty problem and yet today I've been reading A LOT of complaints!
I've even tried both the attys and batts on the pt, to NO avail,

I hadn't bothered to contact cignot (that's where I got my atties), but clearly I should if they think there coudn't be that many of these nasty atties. Four out of six in my last two orders had the horrible metallic taste.

I shouldn't have come back to read this thread again.. /facedesk

UD.

LOL. I was right there with you with some of the posts in this thread.

I'm wondering the same. I'm lucky that I found a new atty among my supplies tonight that I'd never tried... and it was good! So I'm okay for probably two weeks (normal lifespan for my atties), but might have to break into my old 901 after that if no supplier has good atties.

This industry is in serious need of a quality product.

Ady, this really is the wrong thread; maybe you could just start one in the beginners forum, where you can start threads? Or add to a similar one in the 510 sub-forum?

That is, if blowing them out doesn't solve the problem; sounds a bit clogged. Put the battery end in your mouth, put a paper towel to the other end, and blow hard and long. Repeat. Then clean the threads of both atty and battery with a clean paper towel, drip 3 drops directly into the atty, and give it another try.

I ordered a couple of these for $7 each from Madvapes yesterday. 510ATT-BA 510 Spare Atomizer (Bauway) I couldn't find a lot of info on them, but the reviews I found were good.

Both of the attys that came with my Tornado were bad too. I'm not trying any more Joye 510's until I know this problem is fixed.

iv had nothing but bad luck with attys since i started vaping. the first kit i bought from awesomevapor.com worked great. i ordered another kit from cignot and both the atomizers didnt work for s@#$, sent those back, the 2 new ones i got didnt work very well either. my girlfriends kit had the same issues, both her kits were from same vendor, all her attys didnt work very well either.

the first atomizers i had i did a resistance check on, one was at 2.8 ohms, the other 2.5. these were the ones that worked perfectly.

second kit i got, one was at 4.5 ohms, the other at 3.8. also on these, the silica wick wasnt secured very well and came out. had a bad metallic taste and wouldnt wick at all.

the replacements i got...one read 6 ohms, other is 4.8... one ~kinda~ works, again, the silica wick came out, so its only really good for dripping. i tried making my own wick to put in there but it doesnt work very well.

its getting frustrating. i like the 510 a lot. but its getting to where i spend about 2 hours of my day trying to get it to work properly. just a lot of inconsistencies

Oh Vhal, I'm so sorry to hear of all your problems! Please tell this to the vendors you purchased the attys from.

The last ones I bought from Ash are just terrible so I gave up on the 510 atty for awhile. I've read threads about some new ones that are lower resistance (1.5 ohms I believe) that are working good for many. I'm using a 901 adapter with a 901 atty on my 510 stuff. I would highly recommend you try this so you at least have something to use that's consistent until we know for sure what 510s are good. Another thing you might want to try is an SLB or Bauway 510 atty, they don't burn as hot.

A couple of things to remember/know regarding the LR atties from NHaler:

1) They will probably knock you off the back of your chair with the warm clouds of vapor.

2) They tend to run hot (naturally), so they can really put the hurt on "delicate" flavors.

3) They tend to put out a lot of vapor. "Stealthing" is probably not an option.

4) They drink a lot of liquid. You may have a hard time coming up with a cart that keeps them properly fed.

5) They rip through batteries about 25% faster than a standard 510 Joye atty.

any idea where to get these? when i scout for new vendors i ask them what ohms rating their attys have, most either dont know, dont want to test them, or give no reply.

not sure what an SLB or Bauway is... are those replicas?

the whole heat thing seems to be an issue. i use VG simply cause it gives more vapor and hence is more satisfying to me.

iv noticed on my higher ohm attys, it gives significantly less vapor, because it doesnt burn very hot or heats up slower. or they produce barely anything at all due to not heating up the VG enough (i use grape VG which is VERY thick)

i dont want to use a mod. its just not practical for me. im always out and about, concerts, bars, stuff with crowds and lots of standing etc. its impractical to carry around some bigass screwdriver just to have a smoke lol. i like the size of the 510 and all my accessories are for that model.

i like the idea of the high voltage vape. but it just seems like you could accomplish this by lowering the amount of resistance on the atty *shrug*

the eGo looks kinda cool and isnt that much bigger than the 510 from what iv seen. though i have yet to see a vendor thats currently selling to US customers. i just wonder how well it works and if the cost is worth it. i like the $35 510 kits widely available lol

Totally Wicked sells it under the brand name Tornado. I'm a fan - I prefer it to the plain 510 because the vapor seems a little warmer and a little richer.

I've heard that their attys are also having problems, though.

hmmm, 80 bucks though. do you think its worth it compared to the 510?

only thing i see different aside from the 510 is the battery. atomizers look slightly different in the thread area. and my PCC would become useless lol. but if it lasts as long as they say it does it might come in handy. you happen to know if the output voltage is any higher than the standard 510 battery?

If you consider that the eGo battery has the capacity of three regular 510 batts, then I'd have to say yes. Get an extra battery and you can vape practically non-stop 24x7.

The voltage is 3.7v, same as the normal 510 batt.

(If you missed your PCC you could still carry it around empty. :D)
