Burnt taste with all my attys

I'm having the same problem with a 5 pack of 510 attys I ordered from MyPVshop.com
The attys don't draw and I get the burnt plastic taste very quickly.
I have been vaping for four months now and never had this problem with my other attys.
I have tried all the filler mods and nothing makes it work better, instead I just end up sucking juice into my mouth (yuck).

Yea i have 1 atty that Burns instead of vapes but hey. Its a 11 out of 10 on the vape scale.. this thing has a throat hit that will make you puke 
even after its been cleaned/rinsed out.. if i hold the botton after 8-9 seconds actually start getting black smoke from it. looks cool and is loud enough you can hear it across the room sizzling

yea seems like it....Edit( didnt know the diff between Joye and janty attys .. My troubles are with the Joye.... im guessing the Attys i got from TW are janty judging by the thicker bras bar on them

I haven't been using the 510 very long, but I did open a new Joye atomizer to remove the wick. After that, I dripped 3 drops and went to vape. Horrific taste even without the wick. I know it wasn't the primer still in the coil because this had a metal taste to it. Rinsed it out thoroughly and then I let it dry. The taste was still there even after the rinse I could smell it in the vapor, but it eventually went away. This atty now has no bridge and no wick and is my top performer.
I don't recommend removing anything, but being able to easily see the coil has taught me alot about the 510. I can now see when the atomizer is too dry or gunked up from sitting too long without use. When the atomizer is dry, the fibers inside the coil become white, but this happens after a burnt taste. So, if you get that burnt taste add more juice or check your cart. Otherwise, a few more puffs and you will be dry burning.

Asked because there are at least two or I think three 510 clones on the market by now.
OT: Where I am? Are you refering to carnival and the candy they throw? In that case, rest assured - they only throw the cheapest available.

@GoodDog - true, as I just found out. I stopped checking for those years ago, because with the most interesting of those, ordinary folks like me never get in anyway
As I stated earlier, I only get a bad taste (dry atty) when I have no more juice in my cart, or mostly because the fluval or filler is not making sufficient contact with the wich. The filler should start out cut even with the cart edge. Then it makes it's own pocket that the wick sits in. If this filler slides back, you will not get enough juice on your wick. Since noticing this, I always make sure that the filler has good contact with the wick and it has ended that problem completely.
This is so true. After adding liquid and the vaper becomes speratic, it's time to deal with the filler
sounds like you need to dry different material in your cartridge. Eliminate the poly foam or whatever you're using and do something like a shredded pyramid teabag or even paper towel. Look around on here for different stuff. I've never tried it but i hear the paper towel or paper napkin actually works well. I've had that problem with cartridges before too. Also, try dripping 3 drops with no cartridge, only the mouthpiece and see how that works. It could also be the type of glycerine in the juice you're using. Good Luck.

I am relatively new to this forum, I just recently learned of this new device, an E-cig, I first learned of this on a chat website. I may be considered a wee bit .... - possibly borderline OCD. But my quest for knowledge on these devices have led me here. The person who first told me of this device recommended a 510. I have spent alot of time in the last few days reading - all I can - about the many devices and mods - care and cleaning - I thought I had made up my mind to get a 510 - until I came across this thread. Now I am worried that I will end up with some of these bad atty's - which could possibly deter me from this possibly life changing path. So - here is my question. Has the 510 atty problem (bad batch) been remedied?? I would really like to try vaping. I have looked at just about everything I could find, I like the idea of a relatively small device. I will probably get into modding later if this turns out to be something I enjoy. But I prefer to start out small and portable. If this makes any difference I currently smoke roughly 3/4 of a pack marlboro red 100's per day. I would like to get a PV that is compact, reliable, and as trouble free as possible - to maximize the ease of transition. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on what I consider to be a rather important decision. Thanks in advance - Freaky_Monkey - aka Scott.

Hi Scott and welcome. You're not any different than any of us that want the same thing. As I'm sure you've read vaping is hitting the world by storm and this wouldn't be the case if it weren't something fantastic! We're in the forefront of a new industry that is still learning and improving. Currently most PVs come from China and we know how consumer watch is vital with mass manufacturers.
The 510 is a well-liked PV with great TH and vapor. However, I believe there is a problem with one of Joye's (several) manufacturing plants and that they are supplying vendors with attys that are not up to the same standards as others. Many complain of a burnt taste that is different from a dry atty or a filler problem. A few of us bought attys from a different mfg/vendor and that eliminated the problem.
Personally I believe the 510 is a good choice for the new vaper. I would buy the SLB atomizer over the Joye until the problem is addressed and solved.

I am not exactly sure what SLB stands for but if I am correct - that is the version sold at MadVapes. Please correct me if I am mistaken. And thanks again for your opinion and fast response.

Yes, that's the brand sold by MadVapes and I'm sure many other vendors. Be careful if you buy the kits, though. I think most if not all are Joye. You can ask them at MapVapes and I'm sure they'll help you get the right ones. Just be sure you let them know that you don't want Joye attys.
I've heard from others with this problem that Janty's attys don't have the same taste even though they are Joye. Confusing, I know! I just don't want you to waste as much money as many of us have and I'm hoping someone gets to the bottom of this soon!

I always got the burnt taste from my 510's. Atty's, Dripping, whenever it gets a little dry it would taste burnt. I bought a BB a couple of weeks ago and now all I get is flavor. I wish could explain how satisfying it is compared (and I use the same 510 atty's on the BB) I have not even open the new ones that came with it yet.
A little expensive I know, but all day power on one battery, and nothing but flavor to the extreme. The first hour or two is the best for vapor, but the flavor stays all day with no burnt taste even when they get a little dry between drips and fills.
