Here is the Media Archive page for the Senate.

Media Archive | senate.ca.gov

If you click on "Watch" for the 8/24/15 Senate Floor Session and then go to the 2:58:38 mark, it looks like they just Blew Thru the Extraordinary Sessions. And the Senate Floor will re-convene on Thursday 27Th at 9:00 am.

Not sure what Exactly this Means?
Makes no more sense to me today than it did yesterday. Might have been a wormhole between the eulogizing and the end of the session?

I hear you. I didn't understand the Procedural Process that they did either.

Hopefully things will go a Little Smoother for todays Assembly Public Health and Developmental Services Committee.

Wish I could be there in person, kid had a rough morning though, is now passed out on the couch, and I have to watch her to make sure she's still breathing.

Take care of the kid! Glad everything went OK. They recover fast. :)

This is a flyby...

So what happens if (God forbid) all those bills pass? What's the worst case scenario?

Anybody?

Well...

Basically Deems e-Liquids that contain Nicotine and e-Cigarettes as "Tobacco Products".
It would Open the Door for Local Taxes.
Landlords could Kick you out for Vaping in a Rental Property.
No Vaping in a Car with a Minor.
Would have to be 21 to Buy a "Tobacco Product".
Against the Law for a Parent (or Anyone) to provide an e-Cigarette to a Minor.
Anyone selling a "Tobacco Product" would have to obtain a License to do so.

Might have Missed a Few. But I think that is Most of them.

I haven't read them in depth but I think this is the gist:
ab6 - e-cigs are tobacco products
ab7 - indoor workplace bans extended to include e-cigs, exemptions for owner-operated business and tobacco(vape if ab6 passes) shops removed. No vaping in vape shops...
ab8 - minimum age of purchase raised from 18 to 21
ab9 - school education programs extended to include e-cigs, no "tobacco" use on any school campus, charter schools now included
ab10 - counties and cities can now tack on their own tobacco taxes
ab11 - tobacco license fees go up, now annual, not sure what this means for online sales.

Right. Got that. What happens to Internet sales? Will that be banned, too? That's what worries me the most. I remember what PACT did to snus and cigarette sales in 2010--USPS can't deliver tobacco products, only private shippers, signature required and so on. Is that going to happen with e-cigarettes also, now that they are all deemed tobacco products???

You have more brass than I do. I was afraid to ask.

Really, this is it? Passes here and it's law (other than the gov signing it)?

I looked and saw nothing about internet sales. May be well hidden though.

To me, AB11 would have the Largest Impact.

Because a Lot (if not Most) of vape shop are not declaring that they sell "Tobacco Products" on their Business Licenses.

And if they Had to, there would be No Guarantee that their Business License would be Renewed.

And No Business License = No Business.

no, not after today. This is a committee hearing, after this another committee for most of them(appropriations), but don't expect opposition there. Then they go to the floor. I forget the specifics there, I think they have to be voted on separately and then figured out how to be put together to make one cohesive law?

Doesn't have to be there--all tobacco products are subject to PACT by definition????

 I don't think deviously enough to decipher these adequately.

Right, and I don't know if CA has a limit on the number of tobacco retail licenses like other states have.

I know of Nothing that would Restrict Out of State Internet Sales. That is, as long as you have a License to sell "Tobacco Products". See post [HASHTAG]#256[/HASHTAG].

Not sure How they would Enforce the 21+ age limit for Cal Residents for Internet Sales?
