Let me add this little piece of advice in here for all you potential DID or rebuildable buyers. You must, and I have to stress this, MUST have a device that can test the ohm rating of your coil as well as be protected against shorts. As with any rebuildable, there will be shorts and hot-spots to deal with and if you have an unprotected mechanical device, you're just asking for potential trouble.

In other words, purchase of new vv/ohm reading device is entirely justified in this instance :)

Or VW for that matter.. hint hint, nudge nudge.

Or a 10$ multi-meter from electronic shops/Canadian Tires, once your coil is set no need to have a ohm reading APV.

Ummm.. not quite. The coils are shifty little devils, and change as they age or react with juice/wick etc. You do need to have a device or accessory that can actively check where you're at.

I've tried getting a NGP as well, Charlie has not answered my emails since may, kinda sucks but hey its part of the fame for them!! 100$ shipped is way affordable for that kind of PV

I'm in the same boat. Emailed and still no reply. :(

Brass vs Stainless Steel conductivity, I think it's really negligible when we're dealing with larger pieces of metal such as Nut & Bolts, for a thin wire tho, then it's in play as a disadvantage. Also with Brass, the oxidization that can occur with Nic juice would fair less than Stainless over Delta Time.

Here's a Canadian place with some knurled thumbs in the more common 2.5 and up. SS and Brass.

Stainless Steel M3560-SS - RAF ELECTRONIC HARDWARE - STAINLESS STEEL ROUND THUMB NUTS | Newark/element14 Canada

Brass M3560-B-12 - RAF ELECTRONIC HARDWARE - BRASS ZINC PLATED ROUND THUMB | Newark/element14 Canada

By the way, stay away from any Brass ZINC PLATED!! its toxic/reactive when under heat and inhalation. The company posted sells them and regular Brass/SS

I like Brafasco HD Supply Brafasco for odd nuts and bolts. I have yet to be disappointed when in search for a hard to find item.

I was wondering if any of you have tried using crimp beads to fasten the resist wire to the non-resist wire when making coils. My sister uses them and they look like it might be easier then all of that twisting together of the non-resist tails. Had my sister pick up a pack for me but have yet to try them. It was something like $2 for a baggie of 180 of silver coated ones in 2mm OD.

My perma-solution to the res/no res wire dilemna was simple and effective...

I got rid of all that crap.

On my DiD and vivi's I do the double up and twisted leg up to the coil. Works great and never glows red.

For measuring Ω's I use the MadVapes Ω reader box. Lots of US stores resale them, got mine from LJ's. Whats cool about them is it makes a good base to hold your attie while you fiddle with the coil giving real-time Ω's feedback. Cartomizer and Atomizer Ohm Meter

What about Greek?! Would a Hellenic device meet your oh so stringent standards?! :)

Nope :)

I have a hellfire coming, should put your greek stuff even further down the list (hell its so low it will fall off of it)

And since hellfires are so hard to come by,you might want to give this a go REVIEW OF THE COBRA REPAIRABLE ATOMISER FOR ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES - YouTube

Next batch due maybe tomorrow (they are so swamped, they have to close down their site for ordering) The cobra Maintenance complete with titanium parts, pyrex window (!!!) and provisions for single mesh, double mesh,U-mesh,name it

DiD is so yesterday`s news already :)

But I like yesterdays news, there's no surprises there.. :p

Tomorrow's news is always a nail-biter!

Well, you have to admit though, atleast I DID get my feet wet in the rebuildable game. You gotta be proud of me for that at the very least. Right?!
