Check out my Nano "dragon" Coil build

Will this work on 32 awg kanthal a-1 wire? I'm just using what I got around me, and I don't even have a torch >< Thinking about using the pulse and squeeze method on my mechanical mod. Right now on dual microcoils with 32 awg at 1.2 ohms with 6 wraps on each coil and using cotton. Vapes pretty solid mostly with 100% VG Boba's Bounty, but hits kinda dry in the throat on others and cold. Debating on single or dual coiling it on my Trident rda.

Yes, this build will work with any resistant wire. I've used 32 awg, 30 awg, and 28 awg, all with great results, before settling on 28 Kanthal. It all depends on what ohm's you are aiming for and how many wraps you want. All personal preference. I'm now doing dual series vertical mount, with fantastic results, on the Russian rba. It's the dice Snake Eyes Build. lol

I use a needle to make duel wire or parallel wire coils at about .7mm id with 32 ga wire. Just fold a piece of 32 and wrap the wires side by side as if you're wrapping one wire. The advantages are longer coil lengths that still heat up fairly quick, but they also cool fairly fast as well.

I like that because I dislike heat build up in my devices. I want my vape to be warm and moist because too much head changes the flavor of my mixes.

Lot's of folks like a little extra warmth though and like the thicker wire. According to what I've read, it heats a little slower but retains heat better so that once it gets going, heat time is ok and the vape is warmer.

Another thing to check out is the devices that use ceramics, as ceramic material does a great job of containing heat.

Been experimenting quite a bit with these nano coils lately. Tried a twisted double coil and single. Both were a little too hot for me so I built a dual nano on my nimbus with my normal nano build, except now I'm seeing some issues.
I wrapped one less wrap on these coils (looking for a slight change) and now it seems like it's slightly less vapor. I'm not sure if I'm going crazy or if it's because of my new top cap with slightly smaller holes.
Draw feels the same but I feel like something is up.

My igo w with a 7 wrap seems to produce the same amount of vapor but it feels like more. This may be all in my head but if someone has some insight is appreciate it. Or just call me crazy either way!

Dice, could you post some pics up when you rebuild? specifically ones showing the coil and how your wrapping your cotton?

i just got the 91% and attemped to build a coil on it a few times but i can not get the cotton right. it just spatters everywhere and vapor doesnt come out of the coil as it should. it just comes out of all directions.

thanks

I really need a guide on using the cotton, how to bed the coil in, and how much cotton to use. I am trying to do dual coils, and I am stuck on the cotton coverage. I bent the coils so that one is pointing upward in one direction and the other in another direction. Do I cover the top of the coils with cotton as well. I keep getting glowing from exposed coil. Anyone have any good pictures to maybe help me in this?

See my post above ^
I found that when wrapping the coils with cotton, the cotton over top of the coil would dry out much quicker than the bed which would lead to dry hits and burnt cotton. I found the best way to wick is to keep the cotton light, not tightly packed or rolled, and make a sort of ditch or crevasse in the cotton where the coil will sit in. Leave one side open and bury the other end in the cotton bed. has been working great for me thus far.

Pretty much what I built but with more cotton and i rolled it so it could thread between the posts. Gonna try to keep that top uncovered like you suggested. Hopefully it will finally do the dragon breath part and stop getting burn hits from not getting any juice due to exposure.

Tweaked on some quad and dual twisted 32g.

Rsst with dual twist, drilled an extra fill/air hole. 1.1 ohms

My nimbus clone with dial coil quad twist. This sucker was challenging. .5 ohms

Anybody got tricks to twisting 32g? I tried to wrap touching but the tension in the twist causes it to form into a spring. I think ill just stick to 28 or 26..

Instead of twisting, I'd suggest trying a duel wire or parallel wire coil. Just cut a five and a half inch piece, fold it at the half way point, and wrap the two wires side by side as if you're wrapping one wire. I'm thinking about 6 wraps at 1/16th id should land you close to one ohm, give or take. Wrap it close as you can, but a small gap here and there doesn't seem to hurt anything.

Try the Alexander Mundy's Magic Wire. I think it's the next big thing in vaping. There's a video showing how he did the twist.

I think I'm going to try it, dragon style on my AGI .
