TEO, first off props man! The concept is so simple, and simple is usually the most effective.

So I don't have any drippers. I tried this on one of my gennies, and am impressed. Thing is, I am trying to figure a way to wick efficiently. I get I can just tilt to wet the cotton from my tank or drip :D So I happen to have a SpheroidV2 and since it is fed from the top with sera wool, and it has a bottom/center air hole, and the stove pipe center up towards the mouth piece, I think it may be an excellent candidate for this build with a single "dragon" coil, vice using the silica in the center like I have been doing with it since I got it. Just not sure if I want a vertical coil with air coming straight through it our a horizontal and trying to figure that all out. This would turn it into basically a big cartomizer like the drawing posted way early in your thread, but with a micro/nano coil. If it works well, will post up the build.

Thanks for sharing your builds!

Just build dual came out 0.3 ohm, I'm afraid panny ncr18650pd couldn't handle this, so I take just a couple hits and dang it's really intense vape. Gotta build new one and shoot for higher ohm. :p

New build dual came out 0.5 ohm, I'm getting light head now, too intense vape

Thanks TEO for that link. I will give that a try, I expect it will pretty darn good considering the result I got with it previously.

So I gave it a try on my Spheroid. To be honest, it works pretty good even though the coil I ended up with is 1.5Ω. It is like a volcano, and wicking down from the filler is working, I would classify as what I got right now as a great cartomizer, but I do not have to run it with high voltage to get decent vapor. Just don't over fill the tank on the Spheroid, or it will tend to flood it, but that is a matter of getting the amount of filler right for your e-liquid. When I bedded the cotton around my vertical coil, I left a tail so it can contact the filler in the tank. Vaping it now. Went to get some pics, and camera is dead… so charging it up.

3mm ecowool
2.5mm drill bit
2.2ohm 28g contact coil
Not too shabby

2mm ecowool and 32g works better, but getting the ecowool over the airpost is difficult. I also got some minor hot legs in the 32g build so Ima try a 28g micro next 1.5mm drill bit, then if I don't like it ill try some ready wire (32g?) in the next couple weeks.

^ how's she vape?
Well I can tell you that 32g was more or less a wide open carto (awesome) while 28g makes some awesome fat clouds and I haven't broken 2 ohms yet. They took me around 20-30 minutes each to build. I've had cartos last me 150ml+ and thats my aim. I'm pretty sure they use a smaller gauge wire than 32.

The build in the pictures gave me major flavor issues. 2mm ecowool 1.5mm 32g build was better because coil fit much better in the sheath and was making proper contact for vapor... I think. But the 2mm sheath didn't fit as nicely over the airpost so I got more leaking issues. I'll be wrapping 28g on a 1.5mm bit soon to keep you posted. I've got got some really dumb stuff planned involving my friends machining facility if I can make something I like. I plan to wrap the wick in sera wool to help flooding.

When I made my first and only successful a7-oid it lasted about 50ml and was beautiful. The gunking didn't stop after that and refilling was a disaster waiting to happen. If this works out I'll have a true rba carto. Cotton is seriously the best wick I've tried (no ceramic yet) but OMFG changing out the wick every few days gets annoying, and I can't dry burn!
