If there is money to be made, someone will make it.
Only place I have found that I trust are sites that offer the item upon release if it is brand new! *E.X - Vaperev.com
There aren't any clones made so I know what they are selling is legit.
When I see people selling or companies selling items that have been cloned I tend to worry.
Clones are basically counterfeits unless the product has been contracted out.
If people rely on patent infringement to dictate counterfeits than, I don't know what to tell you.
But every hobby has counterfeits/fakes. In golf there are many fake clubs and drivers. In cars there are many fake wheels and parts. In watches there are many faked high end watches.
It's one thing to buy the fakes. But be proud of buying them? Now that's laughable.

Let me rephrase that highlighted sentence.
"Thats all I mean, it lets everyone have mech mods that are aesthetically pleasing to them."
When I bought my first mech mod, I bought it from a B&M store near me.
It was a nemesis clone.
Did I know who makes the original one? Yes
Did I know the price? Yes
I still liked the look of it and had 100 dollars in my pocket for a mech kit.
I like the designs, I own mech mods that are authentic too (recently). Why did I buy them? Aesthetics and functionality. Warranty is a huge plus.
A lot of mods are designed over seas and I can order from the Phillipines, Greece. That is the same as sending money to China - doesn't remain in the US.
Clones are widely available in the U.S too which is why vapers have them. Also, they aesthetically please them. If authentic prices were lower - they would be bought. But they have to be IMPORTED.
Not too many USA mods (that I have seen) are aesthetically pleasing and still functional.
Also -
Rolex is made in Sweden
Breitling is Swiss
.....
I also don't believe our vaping has a big effect on the economy, while there is some and every little bit helps.
All the juices I buy are made in the US and I support local B&M stores.
Proud to buy fakes? Where did I state that I'm proud to buy fakes? I wouldn't be proud about buying authentic vape gear either, makes no difference to me. I don't vape as a hobby, its not golf, or car parts or a watch. Got plenty of authentic golf clubs, watches, jewelry, designer wallets, etc.. those serve a different purpose for me.
I enjoy vaping as the preferred alternative to smoking cigarettes, and that's all there is to it. Clone or not, if the product works to my expectation, then thats what is important to me.
Uh.. Rolex and Breitlings are Swiss crafted.. If you bought a Rolex made from Sweden than sorry to tell you, but you overpaid..
Americans invented vaping and the e-cig!!!. Support American manufacturers. Buy SvoeMesto!!!
Just as authentics matter to people in other hobbies like it does for your hobbies and you, it is the same for vaping, as there are people that appreciate the originals vs counterfeits.
It makes a lot more sense for people who support authentic mods to be upset about the mass support for counterfeits, than it does for people being upset about the people being upset about counterfeits.. Of course this does not matter in a large scale as vaping has not been established in the real world yet as being a hobby, outside of this small bubble community.
I golfed with a buddy back in December who bought a set of "replica" Honma golf clubs in Korea. Does that upset me that he only paid $300 for a full set and I paid over 6k for mine? Not in the slightest bit, why should it??? I bought my clubs to fit my needs, and my friend bought his to fulfill his needs, I'm glad he likes it, and glad he can come play golf with me now. It doesn't affect my game one bit and it surely doesn't change the value of my clubs.
If you get upset that someone bought a knock off of something you have for far less, and enjoying it as much as you enjoy yours, well, then I can only conclude that you bought your device well above your means, or perhaps, you simply think too much about what other people do or have. You may want to switch your "hobby" to something less stressful then, maybe you can start collecting glass figurines, or take up egg coloring, whatever makes you happy.
I wouldn't say I'm "mad" but I think your statement is incorrect. I don't like clones of mods because I don't like playing a gambling game where I pay some money for an item & then hope I get one of the good clones of that item. I did buy a clone one time & that's exactly what my experience was. Mine didn't work at all. Others bought the same clone & theirs worked just fine. I'd much prefer to pay for the original & know it's going to work just the way it should. & I could care less if someone else bought the same item for cheap & theirs worked. It takes nothing away from my satisfaction over getting what I paid for.
You talk about not caring about what other thinks about your gear, yet you bought Honmas for golfing? There more for status reference, especially among Asians then they are for playing golf FYI... Unless you think the blings make a difference.
Anyways.. I believe we're on the subject of ethical and moral values of counterfeits?

No one cares what you buy with your own money. Why should you care what we buy? Go live your life, we'll live ours.
As far as owning a real as opposed to a clone, the only person who gives a crap is you and whatever group of friends you've fostered who care about the same thing. Show your genuine Nemesis or Caravela to someone who doesn't care and all of a sudden your costly investment means squat. The only people who care about those kinds of things are those people.
Like I said, it shouldn't concern you what someone else has or uses.
"They are more for status reference, especially among Asians then they are for playing golf" Seriously? Comments like that really shows the type of person you are. Thanks for the heads up, now I can put you on ignore to replace the other troll that has moved on...
