 Thanks Evie. I don't call it Raven's Haven for nuthin'. It's my private paradise. :)

As if I hadn't already posted enough pics, these are a few that I took today of a rare visitor. I've never even seen a parula warbler before, so I though he was pretty cool. He really is a beautiful creature.

"Dunno why, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm being watched. Can't a fella get a drink without the paparazzi hounding him?!" :glare:

"I'll just show her! I'm thinkin' that I should just see where this wire goes ..."

"Then maybe I can unplug that derned contraption!"

"Hey Lady!! Don't you know it's not nice to spy on folks?!?!"

***********

I know, I know. My deck needs to be resurfaced. That little task is slated for this summer. But first, I have to scrape all of the old stuff off. :p
It's a beautiful place, Raven, except for the deck. LOL

Raven that is beautiful I have a similar looking back deck. LOL I live in the forest and it is like your own little slice of the world. I just took this with my phone but you make me want to pull out my Canon Rebel.

That's beautiful Evie! Nothing finer than living in a forest. I could never live in a city again. I'd have to have ... *choking* neighbors. :p

Oh yeah, Raven. Weathered charm.....yup !!!!!

Now if you two are going to post woodland pics, I may just have to post pics of the 525 acres, across from me, or maybe my pathetic 1 acre mostly wooded yard. LOL

Welllll, I choose to look at it that way until I'm able (physically and financially) to resurface it.

Please do post pics!

Beautiful property Rave and Evie, just beautiful.

I've spent the day trying to fix a portion of my trail that was ravaged by the gas company when they installed the line. Nothing beats shoveling and breaking up clumps of clay! :glare: Hopefully the weeds will grow back quickly and I can drive the mower over it again. But, I also have good news, the propane company finally came and took the ugly tank! :toast:

Me either

. Can you tell?

Rave, you have to get a video of Terry doing this when she gets there! :D Too funny!

Glad you got rid of the tank. Wish I could get rid of mine after the stunt that the propane folks pulled on me last winter! $5.90 per gallon! That's just gouging, plain and simple. How are you going to heat now, Q?

I never thought I'd say this, but: Good luck with your weed growth.

Oh yeah - I don't think I'll ever be permitted to get a video of Terry doing ... that!

They brought natural gas service down our street. So, from Jan, 10th and on, we didn't have to worry about the gougers, well the propane gougers, at least. Unfortunately the natural gas company decided to put our neighbors service, with a different account number, under our name, sending the bills to our house! I had to call them six times to get it straightened out and make sure we were only paying for our own heat.

Lizzie, I can just picture the ghosts of Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday and the Clanton Gang leaning against the rail in that first picture.

Sometimes you can really imagine the people traveling to CA driving through here with their tired oxen pulling wagons...but mostly on foot...since so many of their horses and oxen had died on the previous stretch of trail through the Humboldt and Carson sink.

By the time I get off the train I might not be able to even walk but I'll do my best. You know how she likes cameras. She'll probably have a hidden vidcam on her somewhere. :p

For sure, Terry, maybe you'll have to wear a veil to maintain your anonymity:)

At least with natural gas you don't have to fill up the tank and pay that humongous bill all at once, Q. Natural gas cooks hotter, too. We had to resort to the electric wok to make Chinese food since we have been on propane.
