Aren't those the mosquitoes that suck an entire cow dry?

Good morning Voltville.

Terry - Hope you keep dreaming of a home of your own in the country.

Evie - Hope you are feeling okay.

Raven - Hope you are getting rested up.

We are getting high winds here later today but first...hopefully...I am headed out to 'the ranch" to get some cattails and duck weed:)

I would like to feed the dogs but Molly the neighbors dog has jumped the fence and is playing with my pack. She will climb back out and then I can start handing out meds and filling up the feed bowls.

I need to do some DIY ejuice today since I am getting low on 12mg. I've been cutting back on my mg level.

I was fishing one night and kinda dozing when I heard two of them talking. "Better just eat him here. If we take him home the big ones are gonna take him away from us."

Sitting down, facing forward.
Lizzie, the garden got a late start but things are moving along. There are a few blossoms on a couple of tomato plants, the snap peas are loaded with blossoms as are the yellow beans and the squash has a couple of blossoms. The rest are at least a month behind the curve, but when they start producing I expect a bumper crop.

Wuzz, some of our mosquitos have resulted in scrambled fighter jets from Joint Base MDL. Now they file flight plans.

Awsum - I actually have several little green tomatoes already. I cannot believe it!

Our beans are still small so I don't expect any beans for another couple of weeks.

The snap peas and sugar pod peas are kind of petering out but I saw some blooms so I am holding out hope for some more. I didn't get many this year. I missed out on two rounds of freezing pea pods and had to feed my pickings to the goats due to doctor appointments and such, darn it.

We have quite a bit of lettuce although some of it is going to seed as fast as it can. My carrots are truly delicious this year and our rads are really good, too.

The summer and winter squashes are growing as fast as they can.

Lizzie, she has had problems with some people on another thread, a thread that she called home. It was too much stress for her heart, so she decided to take a break from it all. I reminded her that there are many other threads, with nice people, on the ECF. I specifically mentioned this thread and one other. I hope that she realizes that it's time to find a new "home".

I have to agree with Jerry. Nice people hang out here. Those that want to cause trouble or get a rise out of people soon find that this isn't the place to do it. Doncha think?

No need to worry about me, folks. I had a very active weekend in temps that were in the upper 80's and very humid. That takes a toll on my system so I have to rest up a bit. Plus I've had such horrific thunderstorms nearby over the last two days that I had to turn off my computer for long periods of time. I have a surge protector, but I've been told by my son (who used to run the tech department at a Tiger Direct) that those surge protectors are far from foolproof. My internet problems have been solved, so that's a non-issue. I just needed some down time.

So! I'm still alive and kickin'. Had a very busy weekend runnin' around looking at homes for our Terry. We also got a chance to check out some of the local water features in the area of one of the houses that we looked at for her. I had no idea that there was this much beauty so close to my home!

First we went to a boat ramp that was less than a minute from one home that we looked at. Cagles Mill Lake (also known as Cataract Lake) is stunning! This is the view of the boat ramp area.

Then we went to a lovely State Park that was nearby. It has spillway for the Cagles Mill Dam.

This is the dam from above:

Then my mind was really blown when I was introduced to the Lower Cataract Falls.

Just for scale: Those two colorful specks where the cliffs meet the water are two guys in kayaks.

The Lower Falls are about 30' high. I'll visit the Upper Falls another day. It was too hot! I've read that they are about 45' high.

And here's a short video that I took to tie it all together. Sorry so wobbly, but ... you know me.

Sounds like a hive of really ticked off bees, doesn't it?

Then we went to see the covered bridge which is close to the Upper Falls. Couldn't resist walking through it.

I can see that there will be a fishing trip to some of these places in my very near future!

Sound as if you have all been very busy. Especially Lizzie, of course!

As for sea food: nom, nom, nom!!
As for mosquitoes: Don't have many here at all because we have bats. :D

Of course, but I wonder what about Voltville attracts only nice people. Is it that it's devoted to chitchat rather than a topic? What?
It could be because no one thinks that they are the boss and there is no clique here, Sandy. All are welcome, as long as they don't start anything.

Hiya, Raven, welcome back and those pics are very nice !!!!

Lemm try this out:

That worked! I didn't think it sounded like bees. I thought it was the sound of the waterfall. Were those caves in the rock cliff, just after you panned away from the fall, down by the water? And was that a beaver dam in the water near the end, where I saw people?

Rave, wonderful pictures. I couldn't see the video on Photobucket, though. So, do we get to see the house that's close to this wonderful place?

I'm glad you're all rested up and back with us. We missed you!

Aww - Thanks Sandy. :)

No, I won't show the house. It's out of the running. So is another one that I walked through on Sunday. Ah well. We'll find a great place for Terry. I'm determined.
