I guess you must have lived on a farm at some time in your life. Wow! I never mastered milking a cow by hand. At the dairy farm where I stayed a summer, they had electric milkers. This isn't the kind they have now where the milk goes through a pipe but a can with 4 thingies that you attach to the udder of the cow, and they suck the milk out. Every once in a while, the farmer had to milk a cow by hand, and then he'd let me try it, but it was a lot of work for very little milk coming out. He could get a nice, strong stream, but I never could. I did help out at milking time, voluntarily getting up at 4 am every day. I'd carry the buckets of milk up to the milk house and pour the milk into the cooler. There were about 40 cows to milk. I also fed the calves, training them to drink milk from a bucket and later giving them feed. That summer, there were 36 heifers and only one bull calf, which was sold about a week after he was born. I was heartbroken, since in that week, I had made a pet of him, too. I loved that summer on the farm.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Cindy, getting that error code when low on oil is probably specific to your make/model vehicle. They all seem to have their quirks when it comes to what goes wrong with them. I keep an eye on the oil in mine and it's fine. After getting the code read I did a search on the problem and it is common with Jeeps at 120,000 miles or so and mine is displaying all the symptoms of a bad crankshaft position sensor. The big headache is that it is mounted on the bell housing up toward the top in a spot that tough to get to. I did buy and extra two feet of extensions for my ratchet set and an extra universal for it as well.

Reminds me of a similar problem I had with my own babies. TMI

Wow! I like the peace and quiet of country living although the chores seem to go on and on:) And I only have two little horses and two goats and four dogs.

I do it the lazy way. No critters (other than the gliders), no gardens (with the exception of wildflowers), and no lawn. 'Tis paradise. All I have to do is make sure that the bird feeders are full. I suspect those birdies would get even if I didn't.

Here's a cheapo basic one on Amazon with good reviews (one of the reviewers even called it a "gizmo"): http://www.amazon.com/Autel-MaxiScan-MS300-Diagnostic-Vehicles/dp/B001LHVOVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403834308&sr=8-1&keywords=obd+scanner.... You can get the readings, but you'd still need to be diagnosed by a doctor, who will go through the steps to figure out what's wrong. The codes alone won't necessarily tell you exactly what's wrong. But the internet might! :thumb::laugh:
Thanks. I found a fixit forum, and asked how well that one works with my car. Or if they would recommend a different one. Objective-- save money and not bother my mech with trivialities.

Yay!!!! I am a free woman. Time to go get the misters hung.

I made an order for some mosquito fish. Should be here on July 2, if the shipping notification is correct. I've tried two batches of gold fish and they all died. Let's hope the mosquito fish live since I am paying a lot more for mosquitofish than I did for goldfish.

Again, woot, I am free for the day!!!!

I'm with Raven on this one, no pets, just the wildlife. A couple of days ago, there was a deer in my yard, foraging for food. It had an injured leg and was limping around on the other 3 legs. I went onto the porch to look at the deer, it saw me, but didn't run away. The poor thing, I wish there had been some way that I could have helped it, but I knew better. :(

Why do "simple" projects always take so long. It is already lunch time and I just finished this darn project.

I finally got the misters set up and some netting for my spectacular vine effect [using my vivid imagination here]. There is a lovely bittersweet vine growing on the breezeway and I am encouraging it to grow on netting across to the new shade cover.

Of course, the old misters didn't work at all so I had to go online and buy 5 new misters which won't be here before Monday or Tuesday. At least it is set for when they do arrive. I had just enough vinyl covered wire so that part of my plan worked out fine.

I'll have to try to get a photo.

Hi Volties! I am having trouble with a fly bite on my hand, I seem to react worse with every bite. My right hand looks like a surgical glove balloon. :( I skipped a bunch of likes, blame the benedryl, that hits me hard too. Dang flies, it was only on me for a second! :sneaky:

One word, Q: DEET

Sure it's actually an acronym but your on benedryl so you probably won't notice it isn't a real word.

My face as swollen up several times this year from those darn buffalo gnats. Hate 'em.

Hope your hand feels better soon!
