Scams just irk me. I am so tired of bogus phone calls.

I thought I would post my irrigation victory before ECF implodes and comes back as a new entity. Hopefully, the same crew will be here.

http://
.
I had all the hose manifolds and hoses and irrigations stuff all piled near the faucet. The irrigation line ran in front of the gate to the back. Not a convenient spot. Then, the irrigation had a "Y" that had different valves to turn off an don to water two different zones. Very inconvenient.

http://

Now I have one manifold by the faucet with two hoses on it and my irrigation system. Much neater and tidier.

http://

The irrigation manifold has a shorty high pressure hose that is hooked onto a fifteen foot irrigation pipe. It goes through the garden fence and the garden hedge.

http://

The other end of the pipe, inside the veggie garden. The irrigation pipe has a manifold attached to split it into tree water and veggie water. Each of those has a filter and pressure regulator then a splitter manifold with a timer on each line.

http://

The new lines for the tree irrigation go down the pathway and then the Northwest Zone takes a right, crosses the driveway and goes between the wood shed and the long shed.

http://

Finally, the new line heads through the east side of the veggie garden fence and across the desert about 150' where it Tees into the existing line.

Now all the zones have their own timer and no more making sure I turn the valves properly to water both zones on separate nights.:)

The End.

 WOW!! What an amazing set up. That is incredibly cool!

There is something just basically wrong about having to do battle with wasps AND a wood roach before I've even had a chance to sit down with my morning coffee. :glare: It bugs me to no end. See what I did there? Yes indeed - it is that time of the spring that I have to fight wasps in my living room. Every year it happens. For the life of me, I can't figure out how they are getting in. I've got two dozen corpses on the window sills to clean up this morning before I "produce" the next batch. I had to kill two that had moved to the kitchen before I had a chance to sit down this morning. I'm worried about the gliders getting stung, so I left the light on in the kitchen during the night to draw them in there.

*sigh*

Morning Voltville! Now that I'm done murdering things and have had a sip or two of coffee, maybe I can get into a better mood. Anyone have plans for the weekend? I'm going to put some hollyhock and sweet pea seeds in the ground today. Maybe a few others. A few days ago I broadcast a ton of flower seed on top of the ground where it would settle into the crevices in the leaf litter. Then I just hope for the best. It's ... um ... fruitless ;) trying to plant edible things here. The woodland wildlife greatly appreciates it, but I'd never have a chance of getting a taste. I do have a few blueberry shrubs that I put in last year that haven't had a chance to establish themselves yet. I got to eat ONE berry. If any of these blueberry plants take off, I have fencing to put up around them to deter freeloaders, but I don't hold out much hope.

Sitting down, facing forward.
moanin', Voltatics.

ECF is still here, grinding away, so I guess the migration hasn't started yet, 07:43EDT, anyway.

I don't know about zeolite but a LOT of peat moss might help! I wish I could send you the mulched up leaves I produce every spring and fall, Lizzie. That would sure help with water retention for you.

I'm planning on working outside, again. Maybe I'll get the flower beds basically done and move on to raking...such fun. I need to get the garden cleaned out, rototilled, planted and the drip system installed for the season as well. I think we'll just use seeds only this year rather than buying seedlings. I didn't start anything and the weather, finally, seems to have steadied done a bit. I'm betting we get over 80 today.

Oh nice work Lizzie, that will be a perfect garden.
The ground just makes me want to rototill it untill i die. :D

Have you ever tried Zeolite on the ground?

Cracking me up! Rototilling is certainly easy in this sandy garden. I don't know what Zeolite is.

 WOW!! What an amazing set up. That is incredibly cool!

Thanks, Raven.

I'd have to look up to see if peat moss will work in such dry conditions, awsum. With no moisture in the ground, the peat moss wouldn't break down well. We have been putting compost in every year.

I'm going to town. JC Penney is having a fifty dollar off early bird coupon and I have a ten dollar coupon so I might get something for almost nothing. I have to be there when they open at 9am.

I need to go to the bank and Costco anyway. I need a break from doing irrigation anyway.

My gardening buddy came over and my neighbor who just lost her husband. We got the last of the chicken wire up as we chattered like little birds. I'm ready to start getting a few of the drip tubes on but Hubby needs to finish spreading the compost and rototilling most of the garden.

SandySu - how you doing buddy?

Just An FYI:

The following information is a copy of post from the original thread by "retired1" (ECF Administration) which can be found here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forum-how-tos/666330-xen-foro-tips-tricks-5.html

As we get closer to the actual event, we're seeing that 24 hours may be an optimistic, if not unreasonable guestimate. Better plan on 48 hours. The database import alone is going to take around 12 hours (if nothing goes wrong with it).

We'll be making an announcement when we have a better idea with links to keep tabs on the progress.

The actual move is doubtful for this weekend as we're still working on scripts for the import. When you have a forum as large and complicated under the hood like ECF is, we have to make sure we get it right the first time so we're not scrambling after the import to fix things.

We're now looking at sometime during the early part of next week. We'll see.
EDITED: To Add Emphasis ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

We'll post a prominent announcement with links to twitter, facebook and live chat so folks can keep tabs on the progress and when the site will actually stop allowing posts.

Our current line of thinking is to leave ECF up so people can still search for information, but there'll be no posting allowed during the conversion process so when the new ECF goes live, we won't have lost any posts.

Meaning: The Transition into the NEW ECF System Software is NOT happening this weekend ! ! !

Natural mineral which absorbs 55% of it's weight in water. Many people use this here it improves the ground quality.

I am tired i ate a whole pineapple and now my mouth is tired and i can't say the letter S!

Yer crackin' me up today, Tritium. Didja save the top of the pineapple so that you can grow a new plant? My BF and I started "Bob Dole" from a pineapple that we ate two years ago. Now, he's HUGE! Probably about 3' tall. I'll be transferring him to the great outdoors until fall soon. He needs more light than he can get indoors. I'll probably get fruit next year. I don't know the exact video that we watched to learn how to do it. There are a number of them on YouTube, but it's really easy.

"You're" Welcome "My" Dear Sweet "Rave"

 Back atcha!! Have a good weekend, my friend.

Well I just got done planting all of the seeds that I needed to dig holes for: Hollyhocks, 4 o'clocks, Sweet Peas, and Sugar Snap Peas. Maybe Ma Nature can do better than I did starting some of these in Jiffy Pots last year. I stink with plants! Dunno how Bob Dole, the pineapple and Shrek, the avocado have survived thus far. Generally, I can kill an air fern. I do much better with outdoor plants cuz Ma Nature takes care of 'em.

Then I went around the house and sprayed all around my windows and doors with Home Defense. I spotted several places where wasps could be getting in, but that wall is basically solid wood because there are so many picture windows and sliding glass doors in it. Nine total on that side of the house. There could, however, be gaps between some of the boards. Or gaps coulda been chewed. I'm also not at all certain that Home Defense will help with wasps. They aren't listed on the jug. But, it'll help with the chiggers, wood roaches, and spiders along with various other assorted critters that have a tendency to invade my domain every year. :glare:

A whole pineapple! Wow, that's a lot of eating:)

The zeolite material is interesting. It is $14 per pound on Amazon. Could get pricey but might be worth it.

Google Perlite in gardening Lizzie. It's the little white pellets you find in potted plants you buy already growing in Walmart and other places. 1/3 in the soil makes water and nutrients more available to plants. Miracle Grow sells it in small bags for house plants but you can buy it from a ceramic tile distributor much cheaper. Our soil here is sugar sand and if you want to grow anything you've got to put something in it.

My whole point, LOL.

And well taken lol. We've got a vine here that's a scourge called a cat briar. Left alone they're very prolific and will choke out shrubbery and climb 30' trees. They have a root that looks like a sweet potato. Not on the poisonous list so I've tried everything known to man to cook them to no avail lol. We do have a lot of edible plants that grow wild in the woods and swamps. My favorites are Muscodine grapes and swamp cabbage (the heart of a sable palm, state tree) which is plentiful but you've just about got to have a good chainsaw to harvest. I have done it with a hatchet but you work all day for the meal and it doesn't keep overnight. We have palmetto which is a small bushy version of palm. It's fairly easy to get the heart out of it by pulling on it but you only get about an inch long by 3/8 of edible heart. I have destroyed a good size patch to get enough for a meal before in survival mode with the scouts. The wild grapes are to die for when they're ripe and worth the risk of climbing trees to gather. And then there's Poke Salad, which is a weed. Yum. I can stay in the woods for a couple of weeks near a lake, river or the beach and not lose an ounce when I come out.

Good thoughts. I'll have to look up perlite.
