Wellll, I just saw Terry wave goodbye in my surveillance camera on their way out the driveway heading back to Washington. Ah well. When she comes back, she'll be back to stay. At least, that's the most likely scenario. I'm refusing to accept any other circumstances. :D

She talked with her lender this morning, and there is nothing else that she will have to do "in person". It's all up to the lender now and Terry was given the go-ahead to travel home. My work here is done.

Be it known: When I set out to do something, I by-gosh DO IT!

Bon voyage, Terry & BF! I sure hope it's cooler for them on the way back. I think now we're having that heat they had. The weather report says this afternoon/evening, it'll rain hard and cool it off, and I can hardly wait!

I'm still sending house-buying vibes, even though it sounds like a sure thing. I can't wait to see pictures! Rave, you have been a really great friend to help them find the perfect place!

Now for other news:

Within the next few days, I'll be staying with my BF at a hospital. He has to have three tumors removed. One of them has been biopsied as cancerous. He suffers from an extremely rare disease called tumor-induced osteomalacia. The tumor that was biopsied was an osteosarcoma. It's a cancer, but is far from a "typical" cancer. Rough to explain. My BF's endocrinologist told him that there are about one hundred people in the world currently that have diagnosed tumor-induced osteomalacia. There may be many others that exist that haven't been diagnosed because it's so rare. Why can't anything be simple?

Tumor-induced osteomalacia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At any rate, he's going to have the tumors resectioned and then they will look for more. That's tricky because they are very small and difficult to find. It'll be easy-squeezee unless the tumors have attached to bone. That's when it gets difficult. He already had to have a large portion of one eye socket removed with the last one that was removed.

I'll keep Terry informed as much as I can (she'll be on the road), but I doubt that I'll be able to get on Voltville.

*sigh*

Rave, sending healing vibes for BF. I'm sure your determination will help him feel better. You'll be missed here, but we all understand.

Thanks so much, everyone. Good friends are really hard to find. Seems that I've found an amazingly high percentage of them right here. All of you included. I feel a MAJOR group hug comin' on ..........

As for the BF's situation, this could turn out to be a really good thing. I know that sounds crazy, but if they are able to find ALL of the tumors, then his body will stop wasting phosphates and he won't have to bombard his system constantly with high levels of calcium. He'll be better than ever. It's sorta like when he had his pacemaker put in. He became much stronger, developed a lot more stamina, and has far less trouble with his body. Call me an optimist, but that's the path that I generally choose to take. :)

Of course, I'm late again, but I'm sincere....that's why you all like me, right? ;)

Sending all the best energies where they are needed. Rave and BF, I hope the docs find everything that needs to go and then get them gone! Then, a speedy recovery.

Terry and BF, Safe travels and I'm still keeping everything crossed that you get word that the house is yours!

Happy Wednesday Volties!

Doesn't sound crazy to me at all. Calcium interacts so much with other nutrients, it is so difficult to get more without constantly adjusting the others.

Wow, I am glad for Terry to be headed home and hopeful that the house will be hers.

I am sad to hear that RAven's BF is going to have surgery although it sounds like it could be a good thing if it all goes as planned. Hey, Rave's BF, wishing you wellness.

My arms are going to fall off. I worked so hard and the place isn't quite to perfect but I had to quit. Eight hours of cleaning exceeded my maximum by quite a bit and I have taken 4 aspirins today just to keep going. When I sit down on the couch, I am going to seize up like the tin man on a rainy day.

Critters are fed.

I accidently turned off the veggie garden hose bib which turned out to be a good thing since the timer wasn't working. It had a low battery so I popped a new battery in and now it is working. If I hadn't accidently turned off the hose bib, I don't know when that portion of the garden would have gotten watered. At least this way, although hours late, the veggies are now getting their water.

have a good night, peeps. I'm going to go sit on the couch and try not to think about how tired my arms are.

By gawd, she means it! LOL!

One set back though since Rave posted. My realtor said that the sellers accepted my offer but what she said was they will probably accept it. my realtor called me on the road about 3 to 4 hrs away and told me he screwed up. My stomach immediately lurched. They counter offered by $2000 more. I said go for it. So now I have to wait until morning for him to fax me the counter offer to approve and sign and fax back so we have lost another day or two. (insert bad word here). We'll get this done if the stress doesn't kill me first. :(

The house has about 15 sets of wood slat blinds, all filthy and needing to be cleaned one slat at a time.

All the windows had to be cleaned on the inside only.

Living room, dining room family room kitchen with eating area, all wood floors to be !mopped.

Laundry room, Powder room, 2 full bathrooms all with mirrors to be cleaned plus 8 giant mirror closet doors.

The cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchen were scrungy and had to be cleaned inside and out.

4 fans to be cleaned, on a ladder.

Linoleum floors in the laundry room and bathrooms to be mopped.

Oh, and they wanted the hearth scrubbed.

That's not a complete list but that was a lot of it.

Lizzie, it sounds like they were poor housekeepers who finally conceded that they needed someone to come in and get it done. I thought that you were talking about one of your usual jobs.

It was their house that I used to clean but they got a new house so now I clean the new house. The old house was rented out for two years to people that apparently don't like to clean.

I just hope my clients are happy. I gave it my all.

AAH! My grandfather had some rentals. Every once and a while we would help Mom clean one between tenants. That can get nasty. You can always go back and touch up whatever they think needs a bit more. Or better, when you have something major like that, you can hire someone to help.

At least it was empty, so you didn't have to work around and clean under furniture. I hate to think of the dust bunnies under some of mine.

I am going to ask for a step-stool so I can clean the nicotine stains around the ceiling. I also need to fill some nail-holes. Just about ready to use the shower after three days curing the new caulking at the bottom. I used pink insulation to fill in the gap. Might really help in the winter on the outside wall.

 Holy cow! No wonder you're so worn out. Hope your soreness goes away quickly. You're a tough gal, and I never fail to be impressed by what you accomplish!!

I know exactly what that soreness feels like. Have you ever soaked in a warm tub with epsom salt? Heavenly! :thumb:
