Sitting down, facing forward.
moanin' Volties.

Reality has come back to NJ. After a couple of days in the 60's it was 30 this morning but it's back up to 48 already. It won't get into the 60's again for a while according to the professional weather guessers. I'll take it though, at least I don't have to dress up like Randy in "A Christmas Story".

I've got to get to the post orifice today to send a package out and some other unimportant stuff, bills, as well. Yeah, I do it the old fashioned way with checks and mail. No faith in "electronic blll paying".

Rave, the nice thing about tung oil is the way the wood changes color with age. Then, any scratches can be easily repaired with a drop or two of oil. You are far more ambitious than I am with the woodworking you do.

More coffee!!! I need more coffee.

Is it spring in Michigan yet? How about Rhode Island? I need a weather report from some of our peeps.

Here in New York, I wouldn't exactly call it spring, but it's definitely warmer lately than the frigid temperatures we had all winter, and the snow is melting little by little. Last night, though, the temperature dipped into the teens, so we aren't quite there yet.

However, on March 20th which is the first day of SPRING it is supposed to be . . .

Did I kill the thread?

I'm getting ready to cut the stock to make the organizer for my coil building tray. I posted it before, but I've changed the design since then ... I think. The unit in the center with the holes is already completed and ready to be inset into the cabinet. The piece will be two tones: Black walnut and Bird's Eye Maple. The center unit with the holes is made with thick chunks of the Bird's Eye Maple, but the drawers will only have veneers on the fronts. Much more economical that way. I finally found knobs for the drawers by looking for dollhouse supplies! Dollhouse door handles will work well.

Here's my building organizer:

Luckily I'm down to wick and wire. My tools get a little unwieldy though. In Resident Evil: Afterlife, there was a scene when Alice unrolled her weapon kit. Coolest thing ever! I'd love one of those for my tools:

Wow, don't worry SandySu, spring is headed your way. Glad it is warming up some for you.

Wow, Cindycated. That is some tool kit that gal has.

Spring is here. The plum trees are blooming in Dayton. The flowering pear tree and one of our plum trees are blooming in my yard. Weeds are popping up everywhere!!!!!!

A couple of young guys on ATV's zoomed by and they were shirtless.

The little horses are laying contentedly in the sunshine.

I got my house done early.

If life could only be this sweet everyday:) The first day of spring for me.

Yeah, it'll be cold at night and we may have some clouds, and dare I hope, some rain but today feels like spring to me.

We did top out at 52 and the hyacinths, or are those daffydills (can't remember what got planted there) are starting to sprout so spring is sort of in the air and on the ground.

It was a busy day here as well. Just don't ask me what got done 'cause other then getting to the post orifice I'm not sure.

My snow melted 2 days ago and provided me with a river in my front yard and 2 in my back woods. I always water property with water. :p I found out that my sump pump works. That's a good thing or my house would be floating away. Knowing where those rivers are in my back woods helps me to plan where to put my future pond. Those rivers are going to fill it. :D

Wow, RAven, you are thoroughly organized with all those drawings!!!! Glad you are feeling better.

I way over did it on the weeding yesterday so now I will have to survive my cleaning job and come home!!!! There is a couch with my name on it.

I'm a bit of an organizational freak. Heck, I sort my M&M's before i eat 'em. But, I spent over 6 years as a CAD Designer, so this stuff isn't hard for me. If I had to work it all out by hand, that's when I'd find trouble.

Hope you made it through your cleaning job and are presently sprawled out comfortably on that couch. :)

Good morning all :)

Speaking of wood check this out https://www.youtube.com/user/mtmwood/videos
The quality and work is amazing. Those 3D chopping boards....

 Holy cow!! That is some incredible woodworking!!

I'm with you on not paying bills electronically. "To err is human. To really ....... things up requires a computer."

We came down to earth here in Indiana a bit too. It's still in the 50's, but it's been non-stop rain all day and it will last through the night as well. Might be time for an ark.

A working sump pump is definitely a good thing, Terry.

Raven - too bad about the rain but if you lived in the West you would be thrilled.

SandySu - okey dokey, not really spring where you are yet, is it?

Awsum - sounds like you got a lot done today.

Me, sit on the couch? Not on your life. I''m working on replacing the irrigation system on the street side of property. This will take me several days but I got a nice start this afternoon.

We're getting your rain starting tonight, Rave. Since it'll be raining tomorrow I'm planning on the nap I didn't get today. That and I have some DIY stuff, consolidation, to get done. I'm tired of fooling with 8ml flavor bottles so I'm moving the ones I use most of, and have a lot of, into 30ml bottles.

A friend emailed me about a barn she knows that has a metal roof over their indoor arena, where people ride horses in winter and when it's rainy. They have snow guards for the roof so the snow doesn't slide off and make a huge crashing sound and scare the horses. I was curious, since I'd never heard of snow guards, so I Googled it, and I found this amazing video. Sure, it's advertising, but it's really worth watching. Amazing what that falling snow can do besides scare horses who then dump their riders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q7EJcGn15E

Well thank you, Sandy. I haven't been celebrating though. Had a bit of a set-back with my MS and have been dealing with a depressed daughter who refuses meds for her bipolar disorder which she denies that she has in the first place. It's been a rough few days ...

    I couldn't like that post Rave. :( I hope you did have a good 20th, though :D.

Oooh I kind of want the case with the weaponry. I love the Resident Evil movies... and the video games. Lol bet y'all didn't know that I am an avid gamer. :p

Sorry I've been MIA... I was pretty busy with bills, grocery shopping and giving neighbors rides to the Napa auto store... Plus I am in the middle of watching my favorite tv show, House.:) Anyone else ever watch that show? I wish the network hadn't taken it off the air. Oh well, Maybe one day they will make another medical show I will like.

I never got into House, Celt. I'm watching American Idol right now. I think the celebrity judges are being too nice this year. Some of those people could use some advice. Nice to hear from you:) You sound busy.

    Good morning, Voltians.

Where's the ibuprofen? I got about 200" of 24 inch spaced drippers type tubing in yesterday. Also, 500" of half inch mainline tubing on 3 rows of trees. I have more to do today. I'm definitely not done yet and it looks like I need to buy some more 1/2" mainline tubing to finish this job. I'm just a bit short. won't be here until Tuesday, I'm sure.
