Chooch... I'm just starting on the mirror. Trying to decide if I want to paint it or 'lighten' it up with nail polish remover. It's a very nice little dresser... antique. If I was truly ambitious, I'd strip the paint off of it down to bare wood (tiger stripe mahogany. Gorgeous... but awfully dark.) But, I'm a lazy bum and have never wanted to tackle trying to get the paint off. The person that had it before me, painting it that really um.. interesting 'antique' style that was popular in the 60's/70's. I worked on trying to remove that brown streaking/antiquing layer yesterday. (It goes over a soft white.) I was semi successful. It is definitely 'distressed' now. But, I sort of like it, so did that to the frame and then painted the drawer fronts a soft white. That gave the whole thing a lighter look, which is what I needed. But boy does the frame on the mirror look awful now. And it has a ton of divots where the darker paint went into. Not sure how it's going to end up... f I can just lighten it or will have to paint it like the drawer fronts.

I went in there to do it earlier and got sidetracked with sorting through things that were in the drawers and a bundle that was stashed underneath the dresser.

    Thank you dale!

    Be back shortly. :D

Thank you so much my friends the hugs are so very much needed and appreciated. To the shock of suddenly loosing her I also stood there all of a sudden without a job and the residential complex she lived in has a bedside manner that leaves a lot to be desired. The literally kicked me out of her place, I could not even say goodby to her then left me sitting in the lobby by myself for what seemed like endless hours of waiting to make statements to the police.
When her relatives arrived and invited me to meet with them, I was told at the gate that I was not allowed on the property. The came personally down to get me.
I still feel like someone clobbered me over the head, someone finally came and explained to us that it was a legal thing, I still think they handled it very poorly.

Her relatives are as wonderful as she was, so a lot of my fears were laid to rest.

I'm sorry for the vent I'll get of my pity box now.
