Disagree, they will and are going after nicotine for it's freely available to the average Joe/Jane. That is the weak point for everything else has numerous other uses. It's the Cash Cow for both Big tobacco and Big Pharma, thus why it is firmly dead center of their radar. Lock up with strict controls on the Nic and they will solidify their firm control and cash flow.
They didn't go after the tobacco farmers. They are not going after the nicotine.

They are not going after nicotine. They want it cheap and freely available
for BT along with coils, tanks, batteries and, juice once they weed out all of
us non-stake holders. That is why raw materials and individual components
are not regulated at the source of manufacture.

Everyone agrees that e-juice is a cash cow. When this is over every component
of a vaporizer will be a cash cow. For them, not us.

I totally agree with you about DIY. Right now they are not worried about DIY.
They are worried about the still main stream smokers and keeping more
of them from jumping ship and stabilizing the market in their favor while
capturing the majority of those that either switch to vaping or,start out
as vapers in the first place.
I have said this again and again for a year maybe more,we are not vapers
anymore. We are users of tobacco products. This is what the deeming regulations
say,not me. Even if the grandfather date is changed,it won't change the fact that
according to the law we are still tobacco product users. It might take longer for
them to crush us if the grandfather date is changed but, through taxation and future
regulatory fine tuning the eventual outcome will be the same.
Regards
Mike
This is my thinking exactly.
The government (fed & state) is protecting their cash cow (BT) and they continue to look after our health (right).

Big Tobacco has a dog in the race, the big culprit is Big Pharma. There's a lot of money in the sick and dying, much more than what Big Tobacco controls.

Correct. tobacco is the raw material to make cigarettes.
Nicotine is a raw material to make e-juice.
Mike
Big Tobacco depends on the raw material to keep people addicted to their product which in turns supplies Big Pharma the sick and dying to peddle their wares. Neither of them want to jeopardize that cash cow thus why neither of them want the average Joe/Jane to have access. Because if they did they cut out Big Tobacco, Big Pharma which threatens the cash cow.

The Government just obeys the their Corporate Masters and does their bidding.

To bring the topic back around to being on..... at some point:
    • US B&M and online retailers may not be offering the latest gear that might be found for sale in other countries
    • Me thinks that a PMTA application needs to be on file for ALL the gear that is for sale hence watch the gear selection dwindle down to less and less choices
    • US B&M and online retailers selection of premade juice will shrink considerably
    • US B&M and online retailers will start being fined for non-compliance

Best we can hope for is oppressive regulations and obscene tax's, just take a look at what the State's across the country are doing. It's all about the money at the expense of health and lives.

I'm actually surprised at how easy it is to order nic. I was expecting to have to sign for it on delivery but they just leave it on my porch

And that's a good reason to stock up now. If it really does become burdensome and/or expensive to obtain, you've already got it. If everything somehow remains easily available, it's just one thing you won't have to worry about reordering for a decade or two.;)

So I must not be understanding the deeming regs correctly. I took it as devices ad tanks would be regulated to the point that items already on the market would be pulled, companies wouldn't be able to put new devices on the market without paying out the ..., and that nic base would be a lot harder to get. I'm trying to get my stock pile going so I need to know what to focus on first.

Nic first. Without that nothing is going to work (unless you don't use nic, but I'll assume you do). Next hardware. Mods that take replaceable batteries so they have longevity (don't die on you because they will no longer hold a charge and become a paperweight), and tanks with rebuildable decks (that way if you can't get factory coils you can always make your own). Everything else, wire, cotton, batteries, PG, VG, most flavorings, and assorted and sundry will always be available as they have multiple uses in the marketplace.

There. A basic vapocalypse stash. Will the sky fall and you'll need it? Still unclear. Any downside? Not especially, as you'll end up using all that stuff if you keep vaping anyway. Unlike survival freeze dried food for the bunker where you really do need to be in a desperate situation to eat as your regular diet.

Alright, that's what I was thinking I needed to worry about. Fortunately, thanks to the RTS Trivia contest I've got about $150 worth of DIY supplies coming. And I made sure to get glass bottles to store my nic in the freezer. So stocking up on all that stuff, that's the easy part.

The hard part? Justifying it to my wife.
