If you didn't have a post deleted or receive a PM or a Rule Reminder it wasn't one of yours.
The post was deleted and I am not repeating what was in the post.

How are we to know what is acceptable or unacceptable if you leave us to guess? I know I am innocent as a new born lamb but I would like to know the edges of the envelope. There are times when I might be tempted to push that envelope and I would prefer not to.

Oh come on. I don't need to be defended from @classwife, I think it's pretty clear by the big "Delete" button and frankly some good points were made in my opinion, but if it needed deleting that is just FINE with me. I don't deliberately set out to offend, but I certainly agree a discussion of opiate, alcohol and nicotine addiction could have been discussed more maturely.

My apologies, all.

I was "defending" no one, you are more than able to defend yourself and have no need of me - if it is me to whom you refer. I have no idea who was offensive or what was offensive. I would like to know what was so offensive that the thread needed a general non-specific rebuke.

I think it was a stay on topic type of rebuke (generally) and a stop being inappropriate in particular, Anna type of rebuke. I really doubt that you would even use the sentence that got me rebuked, @CMD-Ky . Not unless you are of a specifically different gender than you portray which I kinda doubt. Really, I don't think you need to worry about it and well, nether regions kind of covers it.

Just like deeming it can all go away-- POOF. And we can all forget about it and go on with our lives, such as they may be. Etc.

Don't ban you, don't ban me, ban that fellow behind the tree. :sneaky:
No, more like "Use your dang head for more than a hat-rack and stop being an ideologue with absolutes." :sneaky:

Sometimes bans are appropriate. This isn't one of those times, but if they must, cigalikes are better to ban than, say, mods. Which was sort of the "Rosetta Stone" point made by the other poster.
Found the Rosetta Stone for translating Kellyanne Conway's comments. Cross-link to subject post.

Well here we are, starting another week of sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for the WH to announce what they are going to do to us.
I don’t know... May 2020 and the FDA seems far more ominous than whatever the WH does or doesn’t make a proclamation about next week/week after/ two weeks later..... Somehow this just seems like grandstanding since PMTAs are fast approaching. Feel free to tell me I’m wrong, it would make me :)

Here's a fact to think about
Anyone that wants to blame the current administration for the PMTA also needs to blame the previous administrations for starting the PMTA in the first place. This is older than 3 years. The FDA has been around for a long time. This is overreach by multiple administrations.

You are right in the sense that PMTA May deadline is the ultimate trump card. On the other hand for people who came late to finding out what was afoot every day of delay, every week we buy by trumps deliberations is more time for them to prepare and plan and execute it to keep on vaping themselves.

You and I have what we need. What about the guy that started vaping last week?

I don’t blame any particular administration. It’s been building steam since 2007 or 2008???? ( around there ish). It’s the institution of politics in general that’s at the root of the decision/ non-decision making, pushing the FDA/ telling them to pull back. That group is not just the two major parties, but also every other party that has a member voted into a seat. This is NOT about political parties. It’s all about power, money & votes... :2c:

I was not making it about parties at all. SOrry you read it that way. The truth is the announcement is coming from him. Every day he holds off is another day someone can prepare. It is another day the vaping advocates have to try and change his mind. It is another opportunity to save something and buy time until May

My heart aches for them. Their chance of being smoke free is getting slimmer by the day. I think some vape shops aren’t rushing to tell customers about deeming, because honestly.... would you drop $75-100 on gear plus juice if you knew it might be unavailable in 6 months? I wouldn’t. And they need to sell what they have at full price before the rug gets pulled out from under them to pay their bills. The whole process has been unfair to both sides (smokers/vapers AND the vendors).

AH that explains it I have him blocked so his comment never showed for me. Sorry about that.
Girl, you should know me better than that ;). I usually just skip over people who I don’t mesh with, occasionally a sentence catches my attention. I’m not particularly confrontational, unless I haven’t had coffee yet lol. I do think this whole deeming mess has us all on edge. Those who have strong political leanings are probably feeling a bit defensive right now, but the fact is this has been going on for several administrations and with house and senate held by both parties at different times. We need to skip politics and focus on getting heard by the people there now, since they have the reins at the moment.

So many people are always complaining "SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE" and then when something is done the other side says "WHY ARE THEY DOING THAT". It's the proverbial rock and the hard spot. At this point really all we can do is wait and see what happens. There will be lawsuits after May 2020. You can try to change the FDA up until that point but you can't file a lawsuit for something that hasn't happened yet.
