Many nic suppliers are already shipping via UPS

UPS (United Parcel Service) has had a "no 'tobacco products'" policy for quite some time, they just don't seem enforce it...yet.

First time I saw it was last year when I went to the local UPS hub to pickup a package I had them hold - 4 liters of nic base from heartland vapes.

Big sign on the wall with a list of "prohibited products". My guess is that tobacco products have been on their list for a good many years, probably since the crackdown on mail-order cigarettes from Indian nations.

Electronic cigarettes and other Vaping Products are considered Tobacco Products for the purpose of this policy, and therefore can be shipped only by Shippers who have been approved for and have signed a UPS agreement for the transportation of Tobacco Products. ...

Good to know. So I guess that list of prohibited items on the sign was merely for us lowly non-commercial shippers (which is a good thing).

I know this info I'm about to give is not from the US but i thought it would be interesting so you see the similarities of the operating procedures of the governments in different countries.

Well anyway, got 2 friends in 2 different universities hospitals (A university hospital is an institution which combines the services of a hospital with the education of medical students and with medical research. These hospitals are typically affiliated with a medical school or university). I put that there because I'm not sure if you have those in the US,didn't really google if you had.

Well anyway, one of them is studying psychiatry with a specialization in Addiction and the other one is about to finish a master in the pulmonary side of medicine.

Anyway in the same week they were contacted by the Spanish Ministry of Health because they want to put together a report against vaping and it's side effects so they can use it on their on going way against vaping.

Let us remember that vaping is costing the Spanish government money each year, less tobacco sales and less commission from all the pharmacological companies that sell the ''you can quit'' medicines, patches, etc, etc.

Well anyway, response of one of my friends was pretty cut and dry, told them to get bent and sod off.

Second one asked them if they also needed reports against carbonated drinks, caffeine and drinks that contain Taurine, and yeah you guessed it they said no they were just after the nicotine used in vaping.

Whenever it hits us here in Spain it won't be tax over flavors or PG/VG,Mods as electronic devices won't be taxed either,if well not if,it is going to happen they will tax nicotine.

Problem they have now is that they can't really ''why'' they would over tax nicotine.

Cigarettes? yes,and i agree.
People that smoke get sicker, that is extra costs for the Spanish medical healthcare system so yeah sure over tax those to make up for that extra cost.

But so far the Spanish government hasn't got a reason for over taxing nicotine,at least for now.
Honestly there is no reason they can come up with that will make sense but who knows what will happen in the future...you can never be to sure how much more incompetent a government can be.

Anyway,i thought this would be an interesting read for you guys, this is a global subject so always good to see what happens in other parts of the world.

Thanks for reading,cheers :)

Another :censored: bill proposed on a cold winter night just before Christmas. Jeez, I remember the first time I read that in 5th grade civics class. This country has been proposing/passing whack bills in these last 3 months of each year since the 1700’s and the people never learn from it or pass it on to the new generations. I guess it’s time for smoktek to bring back the 510 connection flashlight heads. Time to change the name of this forum to “ex smoker flashlight enthusiast forum”

Maybe it just feels that way. When I was a lad going camping in the mountains we used to carry a map showing which counties didn't allow you to drink beer on Sundays. There were plenty of rules back then, just different rules than today. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
I’m sure there are plenty more examples but the trend is not our friend.

I opened a support ticket with Fasttech last year telling them they should consider finding a cheap supplier for these even if they don't work well or work at all. They didn't catch my drift but then I didn't think they would.

This, here in the US, everywhere the anti-tobacco nazis spread their crap is where I noticed "THE BIG LIE" that tobacco is costing governments money, lots of money because Tobacco is making people sick.
BUT, remember, according to them cigarette smokers die much younger - first it was 8 years, then 10 years, now I think it is 12 years - Cigarette smokers supposedly die 12 years sooner - 12 years where they won't collect social security, Medicare, Medicaid and other government benefits.

And now folks you have your answer, why they would rather you quit vaping and go back to smoking, especially cigarettes - You die sooner and save the government money !!!

So be patriotic, quit those evil vapes that may extend your life by many years, go back to smoking cigarettes, die sooner, and save the government money, money that can be better spent on another war somewhere, anywhere - You see like smoking cigarettes, war saves the government money as it reduces the population !!!!

I order snus from Sweden and it has shipped via ups ever since the PACT act was passed.

And we keep voting in the same ones over and over and over. We deserve what we get.
Do you really have a choice???

Here and elsewhere the Libertarian Party always pops up'- I can't even remember the last time they even won a small town local election - Let alone a national election. The News media no longer even mentions them.

The system is basically rigged to maintain the two major parties - Last significant challenger to this was Ross Perot back in the '90s.

I know they don't like political discussions on this forum {in the main forum} - So let me just comment
we are in bad need for a serious 3rd political party in this country - Say like the Libertarians, but some of their views are just too far out to win elections.
So if you have a few extra million, maybe more like a billion dollars, have a charismatic personality and really want to 'make America Great again' { as Trump had promised} - Buy your way into the Libertarian party, give it a new coating of paint - And let's Party !!!
But don't' forget you will be locking horns with the ultimate 'control freak' Mickey Blumborg [SIC} who does have billions of dollars - Dollars he has already used anti-tobacco, anti-vape, anti-gun, anti-right to eat what you want, and the devil knows what else.

So be a Superhero - But remember there is a super villain out there you will have to beat !!!

And we keep voting in the same ones over and over and over. We deserve what we get.

That line of thinking has at least 3 flaws...

    1) How are any significant amount of voters supposed to write-in/vote for the same exact candidate such that said candidate wins an election if we don't even know who we are to vote for/write-in in the first place? I can vote for Honest Ben and I know Honest Ben will be perfect for the people. Problem is, he's my next door neighbor and no one else knows about him, nor do I have the resources to market him.

    2) It absolves those who run for office of any responsibility in this problem JUST because he is running for office and therefore expected to be a creep, a degenerate and/or a tyrant. People love to say: "Oh, but he's a politician, that's how they are." BS. That's a cop-out statement.

    3) If the solution is to not vote at all (I mean everyone), then they will still take office anyhow. Someone has to.

The problem is not the voter - it's the system. Proper candidates can't run because they do not have the connections with "those" who run the show, therefore they cannot even raise the funds required. This is how "they" run "their" show. It's "their" show, not OUR show...and THAT is the problem.

This system was forced upon the voter, I guarantee you that. It happened to my ancestors in Europe some 80+ years ago, and it spread to the USA.

We do, in fact, live in tyranny. It's just not obvious because most do not want to believe it...or do anything about...because to recognize it means the unthinkable. But it is a reality, it's a fact. And there is only one solution. Only one.

And that's the scary part that leaves people running for their blanky's, sucking their thumbs.

    3rd party = 3 corrupt parties

You’re going in the wrong direction. How about no parties.

"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."

We can start by collectively not voting for the same lowlives who have been in DC for 40 years.

Smokers that do die earlier due to the nasty habit of smoking are the one's that aren't also contributing to the government.
They die which mean they don't work, they don't pay taxes etc etc.

    piramidee.JPG

This right here, pyramid of our population in age....wow the red part is awfully big and red don't you think.

Older people that still have 10 years or more of working and that smoke? well yeah therein lies a problem since they won't be contributing at all.

BUT, remember, according to them cigarette smokers die much younger - first it was 8 years, then 10 years, now I think it is 12 years - Cigarette smokers supposedly die 12 years sooner - 12 years where they won't collect social security, Medicare, Medicaid and other government benefits.

That is also 12 years they won't be buying anything, not contributing to the economy, not moving the cogs, not working etc etc.

Not disagreeing with you in anyway,i do see your points and i agree with them.
Just letting you know that here it's a bit different, just a small piece of information taken from a recent study (not financed by the government, totally independent)

In Spain, in the year 2050, people over 65 will represent more than 30% of the total population.

Yeah it look's bleak,i mean really bleak.
Government to stupid to realize that overtaxing cigs isn't the solution,it does aleviate some monetary issues but just short term.
Don't want young people dying of smoking? Take vaping seriously then as way to quit smoking effectively.
Smoker goes into the doctors office and the doctor should have vape shop bussiness cards there with him, they should offer starting kits with a small discount (government founded) so they can quit smoking.

But yeah here in Spain same as almost everywhere in the world a lot of politicians aren't doing their job, they worry to much about how to make that extra cash under the table in the form of commission or finder fees instead of working for us...the citizens.

He and Eisenhower were prophetic. Sadly, neither could survive in this culture. Twitter, FaceBook and the New York Times would ban both.
