Does this help any of us? It's a pic from an actual "street protest" and those are law enforcement folks standing and watching. If memory serves me correctly and at my age that's not always true but some of the protesters went to jail for a short time and then the on call attorney handled the issue. A small price to pay for trying to save millions of lives. And you?

I agree here.
I will not buy cigarettes or get my nicotine from BT or BP.
They will not get any more money from me.

NOT ANOTHER DIME !

This I totally agree with.

Spread it far and wide: if you HAVE to revert to something, Swedish Match got 6 products through the PMTA process to sell in the U.S, including Snus. They would have cleared the Reduced Risk path if the FDA weren't such gits. Snus have decades of safety studies behind them and Swedish Match isn't associated with either BT or BP.

I hope the pepper spray used on them was FDA approved.

I went back and read the fine print from the 2006 page. It's tiny. "This page contains group ratings from independent policy groups. Each group determines their own rating system."

It's a moot point anyway, Heller isn't listed as a participant in the 2006 survey.

I hope you don't take offense to me belaboring points. I have no problem being wrong, but I get very wound up if I don't understand something.

I think you were right :) It's just the data was conflicting. I'm guessing it's not that big a deal for him though, esp if it were based on the 'Scouts' vote. He's LDS and they've had their own problems with gov't :- )

Just don't give up, especially on your dreams. :)

When I was young my friends and I would always say that once you grew up you got lost. We had never read Peter Pan or understood the meaning from the cartoon. I'm the only one that turned into a pirate. I grew up around kids that should have been considered middle class in the 80s and early 90s, but they were poor. "If I only could make a deal with God and get him to swap our places I'd be running up that hill", to meet them. I wish they had come with me. I wish we had been more, my generation, and we could take this thing apart from the inside. We feared the worst before it really hit us and it was too much for them to take. The entire industrial revolution has been inhumane, and perhaps technology will turn the whole thing around some day, but the poor will still suffer, and yet we will find some way to be grateful for the little life we had. All the while our dreams were so much bigger. Too big to fit into a conversation with the FDA. Too big for a lot of things. I will never give up on my dreams.

Well, I think many "open system" vapers are still a minority in this industry and will be ok with the black market. But for the vast majority who don't know any better I can certainly see them going back to tobacco. And why shouldn't they? The FDA is basically saying they're no worse off than when they puffed on those evil cigalikes and ego's so hell, may as well go back to the real thing.

I hope I don't come off as racist, ageist, sexist, whateverist, but I'd like to see more diversity in vaping images. I'm not being PC, it's just those guys all look the same. We need to reach every demographic we can.

People of all ages, all whatevers, have been sucked in by BT and have had their health compromised, but I think us golden oldies have an even bigger axe to grind. When we were children smoking was considered safe. My mother smoked when she was pregnant with me; no problem. My father smoked and died of lung cancer when he was 40 years old. I was 5. There was never any suggestion that it might have been smoking related.

While there is no "definitive" proof of causation, I have an "information processing disorder" (a more accurate term than the overused "dyslexia' label), a condition that's been suggested to be a result of prenatal exposure to cigarette smoke. And there is something else I have yet to see addressed anywhere. Since my mother smoked while she was pregnant, I think I was born with a predisposition to nicotine addition, Why should crack babies get all the attention?

I was a JC customer for about a half year when I first started vaping. I wrote them a few times and they really were good people. Good about getting back to their customers. Let us know what their response is (we'll send it to our product marketing team). :)
Here's my note, I'll copy/paste. As you might ascertain, I write them a lot. They are actually good people. I wrote them a snide letter last week about Mr. Berkey's support for the FDA's announcement on future reg's two years ago which wasn't fair because about a year ago, he wrote a letter of apology for that and letting a tobacco company buy 49% of their company which I think they bought back. I had a couple of personal emails back and forth with him which he again said he was wrong and apologized. I told him it took a real man to admit his mistakes. Plus, I really like their juice.
Anyway, here's the note:

Hello, it's me again!

Hey, you guys need to quit calling your e-juice, "Smoke" Juice. Seriously. It came up on ECF and not by me. It's not helping our cause one bit!

Thank you once again for reading my email,

Guster

I was feeling guilty about how I went about it and added to it...

Hello,

Please excuse my tone in the previous note. I’m frustrated but that’s no excuse for being a dick. I should’ve made it a request and asked you to plead with Mr. Berkey or whoever makes that decision.

My only defense is the being frustrated one and to, once again, point out referring to your brand as, “smoke” juice is hurting us all and certainly isn’t helping Johnson Creek with our government or the public - vapers and non vapers alike.

Please accept my apologies,

Guster

I don't think you know me, but trust when I say I spend a great deal of time pondering. Kate wrote a great song, but making deals with God is nothing to be entered into lightly.

Now on to pirates... a pirate broke my heart.

Like I said hair brained idea
Yes. It was. :)

Wait a minute. I don't think anyone should be embarrassed by bringing any idea to the table. I would hate to see a idea that might actually work not get mentioned because someone felt they might be scoffed at.

Why is it such a hair brained idea anyway? I'm not saying I agree with it on principle but hey, look how dirty the FDA, BT, BP, CDC, ALA, ACS and all the other anti-vaping groups are being and all the lies they are spreading. Besides, pointing out the deeming regs are going to kill black people isn't a lie anyway and their lives DO matter, just like everyone elses...

I was commenting on the picture of the white guys lying in the street. Honestly, if that picture popped onto my news feed it wouldn't even register. Maybe it would for someone in that demographic, but not me. I would be far more likely to read a story about Furries pretending to be roadkill when they weren't allowed in a Chuck E. Cheese.

Granted, my demographic is likely small, but my point is we need to reach out to everyone we can.

Yeah, I made a deal with God twice. On both occasions, He lived up to it and really, really, seriously helped me out.
The first occasion, I ended up and still do, lived up to my end.
The second occasion, I didn't live up to my end (could have but didn't) and ended up paying the price. I hope by publicly declaring this and end up living up to my vow, He shows me mercy.
Numbers 30:2
Deuteronomy 23: 21-23

Anyway, to try to stay on topic, twice now I have prayed H.R. 2058 and/or the Cole-Bishop Amendment passes. No bargaining, just asking...

TMI that had really nothing to do with anything! In a nutshell, I posted about my being pregnant with both of my children in 1980 and 1981 and my dr, who was pregnant herself and smoking, didn't blink at it. No one did back then. My second was born 1 1/2 months early - I was told that I went into labor early because I was reaching up to hang curtains!! Ummm....probably not! All in all, everything turned out fine and they were always healthy kids. And I'm not THAT old, I just had my children really young (married at 16 -)
