I Don't really know how to Evaluate VTA? Because to be Honest with you, I don't really know what their Mission is?
I'm not Saying that is a Negative way. I just know Little about them.
As consumers, we should be supporting the consumer advocacy group. If that group chooses to support or work with Industry groups, it is up to us to decide whether or not we support those specific actions. Supposedly VTA has involvement with the Cole-Bishop Amendment, and while there are provisions in that amendment that I do not like, it may be one of those times where compromises are necessary for enough short term gains to keep vaping alive.
I am an idealist, and not one to compromise for no reason, but I can recognize that if 99% of the businesses fail over the next few years, vaping may never recover.
ETA: This is also why I feel it is important to continue to support HR 2058 while supporting Cole-Bishop.

I have zero doubt that Dimitri and Phil are 100% on board with defeating these regulations. But that doesn't mean I necessarily agree with what they say or do. I don't get caught up in personalities. In other words, just because Sean Penn is an actor doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about when it comes to politics nor do I give him any elevated status because he is a celebrity. They have no more more intelligence than us. What they have is a microphone in front of their face.

Like I said, I'm just not that Familiar with VTA. But I do know that if Someone makes a Hit Piece like what was posted earlier, and will not put their Name and or Organization on it, then it is FUD.

He was just kind of talking and saying basically there was something that Just seemed off with the group. No specifics and no condemnation. Just not fully on board with them. I wish I could go back and watch that part but I can't right now.
At this point I believe VTA Has Interest of Manufacturing/Business at Task where CASAA et al are concerned with Consumer Protection, though Both do and Must overlap for industry survival.

CASAA, SFATA, AEMSA, AVA and NBS (the newly formed coalition) also support Cole-Bishop. So does Sevia USA. Cynthia Cabrera very clearly explained why we should be supporting the amendment. We need to support every effort to move the grandfather date--if that doesn't happen, we're totally screwed. I personally believe that the Cole-Bishop has a better chance of passing, but that's just my opinion--I'll continue to support both.
To all of us--nobody in particular:
If you don't like VTA or do not trust them, you don't have to support them.
But please, folks, let's refrain from posting conspiracy theories and insinuations. If somebody knows for a fact that VTA has done something wrong, by all means, let us know. Other than that, please remember who our enemy in this fight is and let's not get distracted.

I'm not insinuating anything. I just remind people that CASAA is the consumer advocacy group. VTA and SFATA and the others are industry groups. None of us wants vaping gone but I'm sure there are differing opinions on what vaping should look like in the future.

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts it's Tom Baker, the same guy who made that video rant about the same thing. Someone posted a link here to the rant a few days ago, but I don't remember where.Who knows anything about this?
