Yea Shawn, I know.. I read the thing several times and it was even interpreted for me by a bigshot lawyer.
Hey, I shop at a feedstore...never thought of buying VG there..you said PG

do they carry VG? I need to feed my pet rock
VG I get from a soap supplier.

It would not surprise me in the least little bit to see them do to e-liquid DIYers what they did to soap makers. Used to be you could walk into any grocery or hardware store and purchase lye (drain cleaner), but people were using lye in ....... Now, soap makers need to provide proof before ordering lye.

One company is using synthesized nic. NKTR, I think.

However, if you intend...

Never mind...

I really hope some lawyer ties up a Judges time for weeks Explaining the over complicated and absolutely ridiculousness of Product inclusion and Cross regulation to assure - Vaping - NOT Tobacco, OR Nicotine - Is appropriate for FDA Regulation.

I do Believe, with Existing Use of Vapor products in a NO NICOTINE Category, the Products have Been PROVEN Not Specifically for TOBACCO/NICOTINE USE

and the FDA can KMA :glare:

The Chinese march as one.
I understand, I'm familiar with the gangs in Shenzhen..got telly calls from lots of cute sounding Chinese sales people back when we were considering getting into the biz.
But they really all are ultimately under the authority of the State Council
and I don't put anything past them...but I'm getting paranoid.
The interview is over..That was fun. Thanks
They already dominate the market, so if they are taking their orderd from the " State Council ", they could've done what you are predicting already. We'll see, but i'm gonna wait til September or October to buy mods and tanks :)

Soap suppliers on ebay or ecx is where I get mine.
Yea, lye...didn't know you couldn't buy it anymore...but I understand...
Nothing would surprise me anymore...might catch me off guard but won't surprise me

Hey, is nic juice going to legal to sell after 08August? I was trying to wait to see if the grandfather date got changed before spending $500 on a 40 year supply but I'm starting to get scared...

No, but the Bigger questions are:
What companies will fold and exit the market?
What States will impost what Regulations of their own?
How many Vendors will be capable of complying with Federal, State and Local Laws?

I settled on 10yrs, but then I'll likely not out live the Nic.

I'm 49 years old and am basing everything I do in life with the expectancy of making it to 90
I'm screwed if I make it to 100, I'll have nothing left to do...

Btw, I'm calculating 7 liters of 100mg/ml for 40 years, figuring on vaping 30ml of 12mg/ml every 10 days
My wife vapes 6mg/ml but I doubt it's much more than what I do but she's also 6 years older than me. :D

I think I mentioned it in this thread..Recall last April Fool's
when a hoax about the Chinese outlawing vaping stuff ran rampant?

I googled the heck out of that and found that
there is an organization in Hong Kong dedicated to making ecigs illegal
and the head dude has some support in the mainland's State Council.

I think the Chinese have been playing nice 'cause they've been developing their industries
and working out the kinks of state controlled Capitalism.
But they've been getting antsy about the dollar lately.

I'm not totally nuts...I just follow the money.
I have most of the mods and tanks, drippers ETC I want and lots of wire.
But I think I'll buy more nicotine soon and flavors too.
Though really, I expect to spend more money and pay taxes but still be able to buy

It's a chess game at this point.

No, not being sarcastic. Listen to the bigshot lawyer FDA expert.
It might not be the correct course according to him.
I of course differ in opinion but-------> <sarcasm> whatta I know. <end sarcasm>
The different courts differ in their predisposition, what works in Miss might not work in FL or on a federal level

There is no effective rebuttal to the devastating bigshot lawyer argument. So, discussion over. You win.

Did you at least listen to the bigshot lawyer or are you so sure of your own opinion
that his opinion doesn't matter?

No, you win. I don't need or have to win.
See, I'm not arguing here. Are you?
I'm concerned with whether I'll be able to vape in the future
and trying to understand the possible alternatives to just
bowing my head to a corrupt system, I'm not trying to impress anybody with my knowledge or one-up-man-ship. As far as I'm concerned we're all vapers in back of a bus,
even the vaping lawyers...

So...I insist, you win..You need to win.

Guess we have to wait 'n see what happens in court.

Today 5 pm, FDA is expected to reply to a certain letter.

Meanwhile, let's join hands and actively support the FDA in their crusade to protect the children.
Unlike the items we always use. things that aren't in regular use often get overlooked, so let's be vigilant and considerate of the FDA's efforts to save our future generations and be wary of rogue items:

Got a mod broken beyond repair ?
Dont toss it in the trash. Kids might pull it out and play with it.
Mail it to Mr. Zeller for safe-keeping.

That burnt out atty ?
Woohoo - another soon to be tobacco product,
can't risk having that around without tight conrol. Dem kids might get ahold of it.
Mail it to Mr. Zeller for safe-keeping.

These spent ciga-likes.
Been tossing it in the trash just like that before ?
Tsk tsk tsk. What were you thinking ?
Mail it to Mr. Zeller for safe-keeping.

That liquid you don't like ?
Flushing it down the sink - oh no
You don't want our fine rivers , lakes and even the oceans to be ending up as tobacco product
where we can't allow our kids for a swim anymore.
Mail it to Mr. Zeller for safe-keeping.

I'm sure Mr. Zeller will be overjoyed about getting hundreds of parcels every day - demonstrating the vaping community's firm commitment to protect th children..

You know, this is a good idea. I like it even better than sending tea bags to the IRS.

It's not, as of the regs that are written today, but it could be made illegal to buy as an individual, with just a snap of the fingers, on any day after 8 August.

All it would take is grumblings from the FDA that they intend to do something about it, and the nic suppliers could sell out overnight.

Do yourself a favor and order some now.

EcigExpress has it for $45 per liter. If you order two, you're over the $60 free-shipping threshold, and the orders I've placed with them have all arrived in two USPS days.

Order glass bottles at the same time, because you don't want to long-term store it in the plastic it ships in. Kurt has an excellent instructional sticky over in the DIY forum with a link to bottles that are perfect. Enough bottles to store 2L will run you about $30, after shipping.

Order what you can afford today. There is no way the FDA is going to leave liquid nic alone for very long.

For all the nebulousity of their claims to jurisdictional power over other parts of the ecig, liquid nic is the one they have the most legitimate claim over, and it is the one critical link. They have to know that.

A post I saw on facebook, a guy was going to buy a pack of cigs, smoke them, and send the butts and pack to FDA as a thank you note for encouraging him to go back to smoking.

I'd consider that, but I'd have to get someone else to smoke them for me. I don't think I could.

As much as I want to be totally paranoid about August 8th, I'm not sure the small group of individual US consumers has a ton to worry about in regards to hardware for a while. Even new models released after August 8th. Ordering from China is commonplace on the forum but certainly not across the vaping population. Little packages from China labeled electronics won't receive much scrutiny IMHO.

Online US retailers and shop owners will bear the burden of licensing, age verification, etc.

Since China supplies the majority of the world's vape hardware, they will keep plugging along just like they always have. I get caught up in thinking the US is the end all be all for vaping just like many of us. But when you take a step back and think about the world then it becomes less stressful when thinking about getting gear probably forever.
