Yep, it's extremely easy for most kids to get ahold of tobacco or alcohol, should they desire to. Yet, somehow, not every kid is a smoking drunk. Legislating behavior though regulations like this never works. It comes down to personal responsibility and choices, (with the associated consequences), as it should.

I never even touched a coffin nail until I enlisted in the Air Force. CA has created a truly messed up scenario now; a young man can be drafted into the military and be expected to die for our country at 18, but it's illegal for him to smoke. WTH kind of twisted logic is that?!

Not only is all you say true but the eighteen year old who is too stupid to decide about tobacco is suddenly smart enough to chose the leaders of the country by the vote.

THIS

599 Additives that Can Be Found In Cigarettes

is a list of the nearly 600 additives that the FDA has approved for use in cigarettes

THIS

List of cigarette smoke carcinogens - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

is a list of known carcinogens in cigarette smoke.

and THIS

Chantix Side Effects in Detail - Drugs.com

is an FDA approved medication for smoking cessation.

but we have to be sure that vaping is safe?

Perhaps we could use a light "entertainment" break. This is an old video, but I doubt much has changed except the machinery.

While it's repeatedly stated that no additional nicotine is added, other additives (when identified) pass by quickly. And I'm curious about the chemicals used in the different steps to prepare the components, like the sheets.

I still have a Provari V2, a Smok Koopor Plus 200W, and a Sigelei Zmax Telescope that all use 18650's. I bought the iStick TC 40W just to be able to vape with temperature control and have a new pocket sized mod to replace my aging iStick 20W. That, and it was on SALE at a good price! Woo Hoo!

Seriously, given my training and experience in electronics I can fix it as long as the chip inside is good. Right now, they are throwaways, but if the need arises ...
I guess this weekend I will start Organizing the Vapocolypse Boxes. Have to make a run to Harbor Freight and see what organizers I might need.
I have everything I need to last my lifetime, less Flavoring & PG/VG, but it is scattered throughout several rooms. Time to Tidy up and make a few last - Spoil Me - Purchases.

Wasted the cost of a decent Regulated mod on Yealic e-liquids last month - Unimpressive.:glare:

My mom said that Guttfeld was on TV today, and had another segment on vaping and the FDA Deeming Rules. Should be released within the next couple of days on YouTube.

Yes, I posted a heads up a few pages back just a few minutes before it aired, because I saw the tease for it before the break. Not his best pro-vape rant I've witnessed, but worth a look. Juan Williams stayed in character and said idiotic things.

I'm sorry if someone already posted this I didn't read every page but what is the FDA gona do about actual enforcement of this?Theres no way they have the manpower to send all kinds of people store to store seeing who is in compliance.Plus they have other duties so they cant put 100% of staff on vaping. This just doesn't seem thought out very well

Yes, Juan Williams is the very definition of a useful idiot. He's proven that hundreds of times.

The BATFE has plenty of jack-booted thugs. They will handle enforcement.

....soon to be part of the new, multi-million dollar worldwide black market.

It's called cornering the market with junk devices, who knows maybe vuse will step there game up
The media anger is hitting the news media outlets. More of this type of editorial will help in swaying opinion in our favor.

FDA went way too far on e-cigarettes: Opposing view

Ya, read the garbage right next to it
FDA takes e-cigs out of 'wild West': Our view
E-cigarettes could turn out to be either a savior that helps addicted smokers quit or a lure that hooks a whole new generation on nicotine.

While science tries to decode those conflicting signals, the federal government took the responsible step Thursday to regulate electronic cigarettes in a way that tries to head off the worst outcome while still allowing potential benefits of vaping to emerge

Out of all the crap minors can get "hooked" on, nicotine being a danger, evadentally their not to concerned with whats in a cigarette

FDA can suck a big nasty one! They have way too much power! How can they make laws and regulations like this? I thought we lived in America, land of the free home of the brave? Seems like it's North Korea or Nazi Germany for the past 15 years!! This makes me soooo mad!!! I filled out tons of petitions, wrote my congressmen, joined CASAA to help them fight and it didn't do a damn bit of good! The local vape chain we have here in Georgia was on the news taking about it saying how much BS it is and how many businesses it will shut down!! Grrrrrr :'(

I can't wait until these hit the market and people start to modify these to accept home made cartos and juice. Do you think the FDA will regulate and ban big tobacco over priced products when these modified devices start blowing up in peoples faces. I think not. They will blame it on carelessness and trying to save a buck.

When push comes to shove, vapers will figure out how to mod whatever they can get their hands on. And yet, could aquarium filters and tea bags be deemed tobacco products? (Insert sarcasm smiley)

Yes, but the EU isn't. When the EU pass directives (laws), the UK has to comply :(

Thankfully though, the UK have only implemented the bare bones of the TPD and haven't "gold plated" it in any way, unlike some other countries within the EU area

Hopefully that would change if the majority has its way and waves bye-bye to being in the EU, particularly as a block of well respected doctors have come out in favor of vaping. However, everyone I knew voted against going IN to the (then) "Common Market" but we went in all the same, so I guess it's wait and see…..And then the EU came out with its own deeming yesterday or the day before as well, yes? In fact it was so close to the FDA deeming, I was thinking "Conspiracy!!"

So your "point" was completely irrelevant to the discussion here. Facilitating IV drug users' habits with tax dollars is not analogous to defending peoples' right to use legal substances, such as nicotine, (or in this case, even PG/VG with food flavoring/s and nothing else,) without interference.
You're ignoring the harm reduction connection, though. Free condoms is another example.

I'm waiting for Joe….gimme the happy news, I need some happy news…….

And does anyone know how this FDA thing is going to succeed when they lost the lawsuit re nicotine shipments into the USA last time round?
I'm pretty sure that nicotine was around before 2007, as were a lot of e-juices ….from China. So China's vaping industry with its sometime dubious ingredients will be A-OK but American companies that care about quality, provide jobs and pay taxes will be outta business. Yeah FDA bozos, that makes a lotta sense. I've seen a bucket o'cesspit sludge with more brainpower than they have - and the sludge is undoubtedly purer.

To take this question a little further.... Are the China made products (juices, devices, etc) that were available back in 2007 even ALLOWED to be grandfathered under these deeming regs? I mean they arent USA products. They could all be banned outright under these new regs even if existing before the deemed date as foreign and ineligable. Someone tell me Im wrong and why.
